1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Angel Fantasy Mini discussion part 1

May 26, 2008

1. Yes! I Love mako eyes <3

2. @Drakonita: Ah ha! I knew it; I'm a bit of a urethane eye hoarder. Mako's latest releases have been stunning.

Speaking of urethanes, I decided to spoil my Angel Fantasy Alice with a pair of 16mm DollBakery Denim eyes. Apologies for the cruddy positioning; I'll take a better photo later.

3. Oh those eyes are so pretty!

4. Thank you, CherryB!

5. is the normal yellow skin for angel fantasy a decent match to volks normal?

6. Time to bring this thread back to life! Here's some picspam of my Lena, Eve :) (box opening thread coming soon) She just arrived yesterday and she's my first MSD size doll. The 14mm eyes from AF were too small for my taste, thankfully these blue 16mm ones from Alice's Collections fit her nicely!

7. Oh goodness! Eve is beautiful!!!

8. Aw, thank you so much!! I'm really pleased that she's just as sweet as her promo photos, and her faceup is actually more vivid and blushy in person :)

9. Glad to hear that. Honestly, I love my Alice, but when AF released Lena a teeny-tiny part of me considered re-shelling her character. :XD: Not gonna, but I still considered it.

Anyway, please spam more photos of Eve when you have the chance! I love her!

10. PeppermintPocky tbh if you hadn't been kind enough to volunteer AF answers to all my newbish questions I might not have gotten her :) so we owe you a big thanks for bringing us together!!

And did someone say more Eve spam...? :dance

11. @MissyMagoo Aww shucks! So thrilled to know I helped. I can't imagine this thread without Eve now! She looks so pretty with those purple flowers in her hair.

Over the past few weeks I've been crafting props for a Memorial Day photo shoot (cherry pie, picnic table, hot dogs, etc.) and thought I'd share some of the photos with this thread. Here's my girl enjoying a slice of cherry pie:

And here she is chatting with her two best friends, my Only-Doll Tingyun and Doll-Love Hugh:

12. Aww, all your little props are amazing!! Carrie and her friends look so cute at their picnic :D

(By the way I LOVE her manicure - is that real nail polish? I always wondered about what would be safe to use on resin :) )

13. Thank you! RE: Carrie's manicure, I painted her nails with red acrylic (there's tiny specs of glitter in the paint, too). I would recommend against using human nail polish as it can weaken the resin and make the fingertips brittle over time. I HAVE used polish before but it was on a doll I know I'll never sell.

14. Hi everyone! I've been dead in the hobby for a few years do to shortage of cash (and talent >_<). Earlier today I was thinking of fixing up my current dolls and went over to browse Alice Collections since they've been great. Saw tons of new doll companies and started browsing those too. And then I saw the Angel Fantasy Lena. AND MY HEART STOPPED. SHE IS THE CUTEST MOST ADORABLE LITTLE BJD :o

And now I'm very conflicted as to weather I should start saving for her . . . I know my mom thinks BJDs are a waste of money (I have a job?? Its my money? Why does she care?) and she will especially think so since 3 of mine have not moved from their shelf in a few years and my other is in her box in my closet. (I don't want her white skin to yellow and my room is bright).

BUT ANYWAY I DIGRESS. Any pictures of Lena would be MUCH appreciated. Pictures of the body would be great too!!

15. Back in 2011 I did a clothes order from Kon'D(Kondoll) Welcome - Powered by ECShop. I also took some time to look at the MSD dolls there. Especially Sue AF 46cm Sue_Af 46 cm dolls_AF doll_Kon'D(Kondoll) Welcome - Powered by ECShop.

I have not ordered anything from the site since then so I ended up forgetting all about Sue.

A few days ago I logged back into my KonDoll account and I still want him as badly as I did back then.

But I have a question about the sculpt!

. Both KonDoll and MOC carry AF dolls (it looks like). But KonDoll's selection are alot smaller than MOC's selection. I'm just wondering if the AF dolls sold through both KonDoll and MOC come from the same company or not?

Looking through the selection of AF dolls on MOC, but I can't seem to find any of the MSD AF sculpts that KonDoll carry!

I can't find any AF sculpts on MOC named 'Sue, Kee, Kui and Chu!'

This all makes me a bit confused *_*

16. I'm totally in love with Sue and would really like to get him! Sorry about the long post above :sweat But I hope I can find some help here :3nodding:

17. Hi @manabusama! I'm always so happy to see folks interested in AF minis. I think they are severely underrated.

I can't say for sure, but Sue (as KonDoll calls him) looks very similar to Xu, as named on the official Angel Fantasy website (in Chinese). Xu is also available at Legend Doll.

My guess is that they are the same sculpt but KonDoll is using old images and/or an improperly translated name. There's also a chance AF slightly altered the sculpt (that happened with my Only-Doll Tingyun---I bought him when he was first released and Only-Doll has apparently since updated his head.)

What do you think after seeing Xu? Does he call to you like Sue? :)

18. They are very beautiful dolls :)

I have no plans of ordering any of the girls yet. But when that time comes, I really like Darlene!

Trying to compare Sue and Xu but I'm not very good at it :sweat Different faceups can also make same sculpt appear different! But I think that yes they probably are the same :3nodding:

It won't be any order before after new year I think. I don't have money for him now. I'm thinking of ordering from KonDoll where I discovered him first. I also prefer the KonDoll faceup on him<3

19. Oh, there is also another thing about the AF dolls sold through Kondoll. They have a tan skin option!

But I'll be ordering in normal skin. Just found it odd that they have that option when MOC don't.

20. I had no idea about the tan skin option, @manabusama. That's very cool! I know sometimes companies offer skin selections that dealers don't (for instance, XagaDoll offers NS-Y for their minis if you order direct, and Kids-Sky has tan skin on their Taobao site but none of the dealers list it).

And since you're saving I recommend keeping an eye out for event deals. Last Christmas AF had an awesome sale --- I think it was 15% off PLUS a free event head (or free face-up, I can't remember which). I don't know if KonDoll participates in their events, but I know for a fact MOC does, as well as Alice's Collections.

I'll have to check out the Darlene sculpt. :thumbup Someday I want to get a second Alice to be the reincarnate form of my current Alice. I really need to repaint current!Alice's face-up, too, as her current one has too much make-up for her character.

Anyway, sorry for my rambling. Good luck saving!

-----

I guess while I'm here I'll share a photo of my AF Alice and DollLove Hugh together:
