1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Angel of Dream - 90cm - Ni, Bo & Primo

Oct 16, 2008

    1. Renee_chan- Oh I'm so happy to know someone else has the same sewing challenges I do! I just thought with a larger body it may be easier to try. I can knit, so I'm starting him a sweater, but he'll need some pants still. I haven't ordered from happyhouse before, but I'm glad to hear good things about them. I tried looking at how many inches these boys heads would be, and I think a blythe wig may fit, but it may tight. I think I may try out making a fur wig until AOD starts selling wigs and stuff for these boys. I can't wai tto see you Bo!

    2. A lot of the Western Dolls have heads more this size... I would try Kemper or Monique.

    3. Cool! I love Underworld! (Makes me want a Jurgis even more!)

And, it's a pity some people have complained that AOD has ruined their dream of having a werewolf BJD. The werewolf concept is not copyrighted, and Im sure other companies will come out with their own versions of werewolfs or wolf-like demons. But, kudos to AOD for being the first. A little healthy competition is always good for the free market.

    4. Candygears- Thanks for your advice! I was just looking at ebay, after realizing that these 1/2 boys will have a head circ. of 11.5", not likely to fit a blythe wig. I did find a couple on ebay, and I may order one or two and see how they fit.

Does anyone have any ideas on sewing patterns that may fit these boys?

    5. Wow, 11.5" seems huge! I looked at some Kemper wigs but they were all very "baby doll" looking. I might try to make a fur wig, too. And you never know, happyhouse might throw in a freebie!

ETA: Shastam, if you go to the sewing thread, look for posts by ragdoll, she's made a bunch of tutorials that don't use patterns, are for any size, and are easy to follow. I've used her t shirt tutorial before to make MSD and SD sized shirts. I'm sure I'll be using the same method to make my Bo some shirts.

    6. I have to join in this discussion and say that I love big dolls and I will almost certainly get one of these big chaps into my family (probably Ni - there is something slightly haughty in his unpainted head that I like), but not in the near future, with Xmas coming up and other expenses and all. :D I am going to lurk though.

    7. ....I-I just saw two of those big boys at my friend's doll shop (she's a Singaporean representative of Aod). xDD They were HUGE. I was really shocked. Like. Shocked. They have huge feet. xD And humongous heads. And hands. I didn't get to hold them, but I bet they weigh a ton. xD

    8. Boy, I've seen Ni and Bo in real life and MAN ARE THEY HUMONGOUS. D: Their mouth could prolly chomp an AF doll's head! 8D

    9. Has anyone here recieved their huge boys yet? I can't wait to see pics of them!! I also can't wait till Primo gets home!

    10. Gissel and Dead- What did their faces look like when you saw them? Did they look better than the stock photos? That is still the only thing I worry about.

    11. I'm still waiting on Bo. Has anyone elso ordered one of these big boys? I can't wait till he gets here! I'll be taking lots of pics, believe me.

    12. *waves from her lurking position* I ordered Ni from Aoddoll.net :) They said I should recive him before the end of November, I'll be sure to post lots of pics!

    13. Yes, please. Owner photos are so helpful. Are you getting a faceup or doing it yourself? Either will be interesting to see. *drumming fingers* It's so hard to wait, and it's not even my doll. What must it be like for you?

    14. I can't wait to see photos!! I'll be sure to take many of Primo when he gets here too!!

    15. I kinda liked the look of Ni, so I will be fascinated to see your boy! :)

    16. Primo was handsome~ 8D (Really made me want to buy him but I don't think I can buy a really big doll. >.>) He looks quite similar to the stock photos, and the other doll was Ni, I think. Or maybe Bo. I don't really know. *_* But his jawline is amazing. <3

    17. I can't wait to see owner pix of Primo. They are better than the website pix everytime. He sounds huge, but something different is always fun.

    18. I'll be sure to span pics when he arrives! I'll be sending him off for a faceup when he gets here, I can barely sit still to wait! I'm looking for furniture for him right now so he'll have somewhere to sit >.< Think children size chairs will work anyone?

    19. Yes, probably, though finding something not splattered with Elmo or the Disney Princesses could be pretty hard. Ebay might have something affordable. I'd suggest antique stores too. You never know what you might find that just needs a little TLC to make it really special.

    20. I feel like Primo is comfortable enough with himself that sitting on Elmo or Disney Princesses furniture wouldn't faze him LOL
