Angel of Dream - 90cm - Ni, Bo & Primo

Oct 16, 2008

    1. Buff, thanks for putting up the comparison shot--that really helps to get a full ideal of scale :)

    2. whoa...talk about being a gaint :)

    3. Thank you Buff for the comparison photo! OMG! He's huge!!! How much is that doll going to weight?!!!

    4. not my cup of tea, the jargis one. his transformation face.... eh. although i would like a collection of unique looking dolls, that's not what i'm aiming for aha. plus, i'm 5'3" so i'd only be a few feet taller than him and that's creepy lmao.

    5. Good god, LAWL. That's as tall as one of my little cousins.

    6. I'd consider buying one if they came out with a head sculpt I *really* liked.
      Still, I don't think I'd be able to take him out often if I did @.@;

    7. All I keep thinking about is how hilarious it would be to see somebody carrying this around. I keep thinking how could lock arms and carry him on your back if you bent his knees.... It really just sounds like a dead body to me, I mean I've never been in contact with a doll so I don't know how heavy they are, but he's gotta be so much dead weight.

I really want to see the pictures though, wow. 0_0

    8. :XD: wow after reading that I was thinking about those height standards at amusment parks.

"You must be at least this tall to ride this"

Oh man I've always wanted to take my 45cm boy with me to disneyland, but the thought of lugging around something that tall...he can have his own seat! I can't help but be extremely curious. I can't wait to see owner pics of these boys or bodies.

    9. My dad was scared at first just at the MSD size dolls. Only because they were elves and looked like vampires. xD

      But, a 90 cm Werewolf?

      That...would scare even me.

    10. oh no the werewolf and the 90cm dolls are completely different.
The werewolf falls into the 60cm category. The 90cms are...well...a whole new thing haha. But now you've got me a mental image of Jurgis' werewolf head on that body!
I don't think i'll be able to sleep if i had something like that!

    11. my BJD dreams are coming true! now if only he was a girl......

    12. Oh my.....he has such a big...ur....big hands. :p

I'd love to see owner pics if anyone gets one. MSD size has ended up being perfect for me, but I can admire the effort that must've gone into the creation of the huge fellows.

    13. Oh they're different?

      -sigh of relief!-

Cause a huge werewolf just sounded terrifying.

Why make one so big though?

    14. Well, I'm in the minority here, but I find Bo completely enchanting! And the size is wonderful, too. I'm not one of those collectors who has to have matching sized dolls. I love em all, big or small! But I wonder how the heck I'd be able to lug a doll that size around. My Beryl gives me quite a workout as it is. I've been saving for a particular doll and now I'm rethinking... I may have to get Bo! I guess I'm doomed to be poor forever....

    15. Now i'm super confused!!

I can't find any actual measurements for either doll... but Nicole is 1400g and Jurgis is 1700g does anyone know how that factors into size?

    16. I remember way back when I first joined posting in a thread (or reading it anyways...) about 1/2 dolls... It's kind of surreal to see them actually come into being. I remember thinking that they'd have to be so chunky they'd resemble a small child and if I want something that big I may as well have a kid o___o''

I must say, though, I do admire the fact that it is proportioned much like a 60...

But he's just too big. I loove the idea of bigger dolls; I adore my 60... 70cm sounds awesome, 80cm, bring it on! But 90? It's just... overwhelmingly large!

    17. That's half my size *_*

I don't think I'll be getting one somehow.

    18. Jurgis and Nicole are part of the basic super line which is about 62cm.
The part where they tell you what type of doll is in their ads and from there you can check out the rest of their basic super dolls in order to find out their measurements. There's a link in post #3 that will direct you to the measurements for the 90cm doll.

      haha yes they're different.
You mean making a werewolf that big or a doll in general that size?
haha no idea...competition for the latter, but a werewolf...whoever it suits the person's taste.
I am kind of intrigued to see a werewolf of that size though. I really just wonder how the body is going to be.
I might be interested if i can fit other heads on it...but then I can just imagine my parents looking at me
with strange looks with a doll that size...especially his bits haha. Actually now that i think about it...having a doll of that size scares me. XD

    19. How limited is he? How big is his head? And what's their layaway like?

    20. Heh, I'm a little bit all over the place on this issue. When I first started looking into buying a bjd, I didn't think too much of the AoD sculpts. Mainly because like many, I wanted to recreate characters and none had features similar to AoD faces. Plus, admittedly, none of the sculpts really "grabbed" me.

Despite being a "character builder", though... I find myself loving the 1/2 dolls. Heck, the more I get into bjd's, the more I'm finding dolls I want that are outside my character plans. Heh, I just might have to make up a giant charrie for this. ;)

I like the 1/2 definitely for the size (I've actually been contemplating an attempt to make a doll in that scale myself!), and I truthfullly like the face on this one. Not sure why exactly, other than the face does seem different from the other AoD's. I read on their website that they've hired a new artist. I'm suspecting we'll see more differences over time.

I actually bought Jurgis using their layaway plan -- the first payment is 30%, then you have 60 days to pay off the rest. I got the wolf head option, as I've got a charrie who is a werewolf. I'm not actually sure if I'll keep Jurgis the doll or not. He's not bad-looking, I just don't have anything planned that he'd fit in.

But if he's anything like my mystery practice head "Allen"... I'll likely fall for him during the customization process and give him a personality. :sweat

EDIT: Errr... sorry, I should probably add that the layaway option I took was directly through AoD, not Happyhouse. So if Ni & Bo are only offered through Happyhouse right now... then I'm not sure what the layaway plan would be, if any. Again, sorry!
