1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Angel of Dream - 90cm - Ni, Bo & Primo

Oct 16, 2008

    1. Yeah it wont work... sorry :( I have resorted to using my office computer to view a lot of sites that My Mac/Safari doesnt like... My only suggestion is to to wait untill you get to another PC or install Firefox as an alternate browser...

    2. it doesn't want to open on Firefox as well. But windows is ok.

    3. I can't wait to get Bo home! I wonder how heavy he's going to be. I really think Bo is just lovely, he's different. I can see how some people might not like his sculpt, but I fell in love instantly!

    4. I'm not saying that one is better than the other; I'm saying that I do think it's a matter of competition, that's all. Not a bad thing, by any means. All I'm saying is I remember SOOM saying it produced the largest BJDs in the world. Now it goes to AOD. I mean, look at my wishlist. I want a doll from each company! I'm an individual cases person, not a company/band/etc. person. I like movies, not actors, songs, not bands, dolls, not companies. ^__^

(you can always go to happyhouse. ;D)

There was another thread? I didn't see it...

    5. I wish they are not so thin... I really do want a big guy at home, but, look at MA's arms!! Look at their unproportional little hands! I want to have a man at home not a guy with skeleton/body problems as I'm terrible being nurse

    6. Actually they've always said that their Mech Angels were one of the largest. They never made a claim to make the largest BJD.

    7. I may stray a little from the topic which I apologize for but bare with me! It is relevant.

I do not like the style so much that they have given Bo but I do however like the sculpt. And I like Ni enough to have actually considered getting him. I see that many have found them ugly. But to me they are different in a way that some of my Dollmore boys are. Not that boring stereotype bishie kind. :sigh The bishies can be fun to watch and/or own but I find it a lot more fun to get a sculpt with features that are not always considered "classic" beauty. I find both people and dolls that look a little different more attractive.

Now to the topic at hand!
Primo! I said before that I like the other sculpts but this one I adore! :whee: I thought about getting one before just because the size is so intriguing. But even if Primo were a 60cm, 70cm I would still be interested. I will most likely have one of these beauties in the near future.

And to all the people accusing AoD for trying to rip off Soom by making a doll bigger then their 80cm... WUT??!! :aeyepop:
IF they had made a 80cm I would follow your logic a bit. I would still not see it as a rip off because this is business! They compete for our attention. As far as I know Dollshe were the first 70cm on the market. Do you accuse Soom of trying to rip Dollshe off for making 80cm??

I cannot really see the AoD 90cm to be a direct threat for any other big bjd. Why? Because these guys are so vastly different than any other. You can have a 80cm with your 60cm and it looks somewhat realistic. The 80cm can wear some of the clothes made for 70cm and some can wear the same wigs/eyes etc. That makes 80cm a threat to any other big bjd.

These guys however are so big it would be impossible to mix them with your other bjds IF you are looking for realistic proportions (unless he's a giant). They cannot wear other bjds clothes, shoes, wigs etc.
People who will buy them will do so for other reasons than people who buy Soom's Mecha Angels. Therefore I cannot agree with those who bash AoD. :eusa_naug

I totally agree with you! :thumbup

    8. I never said anything about ripping off... please don't misquote me, especially not repeatedly. I understand there's sometimes confusion about what people are actually saying, but please... I already clarified that I bear no feelings in the hostile arena towards AoD. Stop misconstruing what I say; it's stressful. >.<;

ALL I said is what you guys have been saying; it's a market, everyone's trying to be better. Either bigger, more stylized, smaller, more realistic, however it may be. I mean jeez. It's like with anything; someone sees that there's a new market for gruesome horror movies based on the success of a recent gory horror film, and they want a cut of the profit off that market, so they make an even more gruesome horror film. Was it a ripoff? Of course not. But what they did was make it bigger and badder than before, and made it different. I think this is more likely inspired by MAs than 70cm, since they're SO much bigger. So I compared to MA, not to Senior Delf, or Dollmore Model Doll. 90 cm is a lot closer to 80. I thought 80 was a daring move, and it was huge (Try fitting 60cm clothes on 80cm dolls sometime, by the way; SD13 pants legs on my 57cm look like a boy in big bro's pants. that's 3cm difference; not even gonna imagine the vast difference by 20cm). I saw this and thought, "Oh wow! It's even BIGGER!" AoD is merely raising the bar from where Soom had raised it. I am NOT

(let me space this out so you get the point this time)

      I AM NOT

CRITICISING (OR bashing, OR any synonym) AOD

      OR

      SAYING THEY'RE RIPPING OFF SOOM.

Stop looking for excuses to defend something that need not be defended, since I'm not attacking it. Of course, if people are saying it in other threads, I understand, but either post it on other threads, or say that it was stated in other threads, because I have not said it on here.

    9. Question:Is that the only picture they have of primo up( just the head shot?) I didnt see any others.

General statement not directed to anyone:
Also we can pretty much be sure that *all* companies whether doll related are not are in competition with one another. they check their products out do market research and try to come up with something that they think the consumer will like better and buy it from them.

Companies are all about the money. I remember when Volks came out with Sd16 and shortly after Luts came out with their "Senior Delfs" Hmmmm ? What a cawinky dink no?

      *shrug*

Its just my observation. But who really cares? Love the doll you love, buy the doll you buy and be happy ! dont fight with anyone because they dont approve of your choice or company or whatever. That takes the enjoyment away from the hobby which alot of us use to relax !

    10. Uhm... I did not quote you repeatedly. I did not quote you at all!
My post was not directed to you personally and if you calm down a wee bit and read again you might see that I actually adressed "people who ARE accusing AoD of ripping off Soom".
When you say that you are not one of those people why are you so upset?

Since I had something to say about Primo I thought I could also share my feelings about what some have said about all the 90cm dolls.
You may have the opinion that I should post in one of the other threads instead but I chose to post here. I did not mean to cause any disturbance. I just wanted to share my thoughts.

    11. For me, the bigger the doll the better! Part of what sets bjds apart from other dolls is their size. Sadly I'm not too keen on the AOD head sculpts, but maybe with a little modding it could work...

    12. Ah... misquote was a bad word to use. I think I meant misconstrue. XD

I'm sorry; I thought you were referring to me, since I compared the two, and you posted on this thread. >.>; apologies.

    13. And I am really sorry if I was unclear and made you upset! I am glad we sorted it out! :)

Does anyone know what eyesize any of the 90cm take? I see measures for the body as well as the head but no info about eyes.

    14. Oh man... This doll is way over half my height. I'd LOVE to see one in person, but for someone my size, getting one is completely out of the question XD

And I didn't even realize 'til I actually measured it out...

      THEY'RE BEYOND F'IN HUGE! XD
Primo has a lovely face, though! Bo's looks a little too... I don't know O_o Oddly shaped?

      ~Ari

    15. I don't find him appealing in the slightest, although it would be interesting to see what someone else will make of him with some modifications. I couldn't take his face seriously as someone with a powerful beast lurking just beneath the surface! Jurgis' standard head looks far too calm!

To my mind, a wolfMAN needs a man's body, those spindly limbs aren't going to be strong enough for wolfing around  and I completely agree about the join between the hands and wrists and feet and ankles. To create a wolfman they would have to have interchangeable feet and lower legs at the least!

I'm hoping Fairyland haven't seen this and are too afraid to tackle my Puki werewolf suggestion :(

    16. * At Ari-chan's photo* HAAA~HAAA HAA!!!

It just hit me as well, those boys are Tall...... I would love to see owner pics of him beside the 60cm BJDs

Or maybe with an owner for size comparison.

    17. I would LOVE to see one of these in person, even though I severely dislike their molds. They would be awesome and freaky at the same time. I think it could be a cool idea but they would have to put more detail into the sculpts the bigger they get with the doll. Otherwise, I could see it being compared to my size Barbie or a love doll, as people have pointed out. Whatever the case, I'm sure they will scare the daylights out of non-doll-owners everywhere. Muahaha!

    18. My first reaction to them was "Wait... wait, WHAT?"
I'd love to see pictures of them (especially next to little kids, hehe), but I don't think I'd ever buy a doll that was that big...
I would totally buy a smaller version of Ni though, I love his sculpt! :D

    19. That's.... the size of a young child. o.o;;; oh. WOW.
