Angel of Dream (AOD) 1/4 size discussion thread Part 2

Hey, I've got a clothing question too. I'm ordering a couple of 1/4 medium bust girl bodies for my floating heads, and I want to make them clothes before their bodies arrive. Are there any free patterns online that fit them that I should know about? What body type (Slim MSDs, etc) of clothing will they fit? I think I'm finding enough measurements online, but there is a surprising lack of patterns, free and not.

 

Does anyone have a nude pics of the 'new' boy body?
The last time I ordered a doll from them (or only a body in that case) there was still the old muscular body avaible. Now there is only one body and I fear it might be not... fit the image of male character I have in mind.
So if anyone could share pics of what the body really looks like (cause a WHITE body is SUCH a good reference pic -.-), I'd be quite grateful

I haven't found much in the way of patterns unfortunately.... just testing and trying to piece things together on my own. Though Slim msd clothes have a good chance of being too small. AOD busts are comparable in size to Luts and Iplehouse. I've been tempted to make a dress form for my girl, and i honestly think that might be the best way to go for them. ^^

Aira, sorry to hear about your problem with clothing. I don't have a female body, but it does look much slimmer than my DK girl. I would bet shirts for slim minis would fit really well, but AoD ladies are pretty tall, so pants may be an issue. I just adore your girl's face-up. She's beautiful and her wig looks great on her.

Mysterious, again, I love your Roxanna. Her outfit is so cute too. Where did you get her shoes from. Shang Nai is on my wishlist now, but it'll likely be months before I can entertain the idea of ordering her.

Maxtastic awww thank you so much. ^^ She is for sure one of my favorites. (shhhh.... don't tell the others.) I fell in love with her sculpt immediately. haha. I got her shoes off of ebay from the seller samaetaetaki. Thanks for sharing another picture of your boy! I really like his pose.

Moar stupid questions, this time about jointed hands. I searched all day long, but there's no actual skintone match info for aod. I found a external link to biiiiiiig skinton comparison table somewhere at photoreference section some time ago, but lost it
There's three choises now, Dikadoll, DollFamily and Illusion spirit, so, well, does anyone have any info about color/wrist compatibility? My girl is normal-pink.

 

Aira, if your doll was any other color but NP, I could tell you exactly which would match better, but sadly I only own one NP doll from Dikadoll and the rest are either NY or white from the other companies so it's really tough to compare. Looks to me from company photos that Dikadoll may be a good match. Illusion Spirit and Doll Family are apparently using the same resin now (?) so either one of those will be same color. If the match is off, you could always blush them or do what I do and add bracelets to kind of hide the joint and make the illusion that the hands match. You shouldn't have any problems with the wrist pieces fitting.

Mysteriousmage, thank you! I was having a bit of trouble with Silas being a little floppy, even after restringing him, so I hot-glue sueded him and wired his arms and now he poses like an absolute dream. If you have a chance, would you feel up to taking some closeups of your Roxanna? I'm in love with her lips and I was wondering if you could see her teeth or if I'd be able to paint/mod them to look like her lips are slightly parted.

 

Aira: i'm not sure what to tell you on the jointed hands thing. I know that WS aod matches with Dollzone. Asyris has an AOD head on a DZ body. I can't vouch for the NP though. :/

Maxtastic: Yea i've been having the same issues with Roxanna. Though it's mostly in her legs. Probably going to have to try and sued her legs and see how that goes. :/ Here is a picture for you, please ignore her lip chip. I just noticed it now when I went to take a picture for you. I'm super upset about it. I think it just happened today though.... I packed up all my dolls to take to my parent's house to take pictures, but the weather turned out to be crappy. I think Lucien's boot must have rubbed up against her face. I thought I had packed them better.
Her teeth I don't think are that noticeable, unless you take pictures like this.

 

Mysteriousmage, that's perfect! I'm so excited now. She'd just gorgeous. I'm sorry about the chip though! I worry about that every time I leave the house with one of my dolls and so far it hasn't happened.

 

Maxtastic: I'm glad I could help! Her sculpt is really wonderful. I know.... This was only the second time i've taken her out too. :/ Just going to have to be more careful.

 

I hope you're able to repair the chip, Myseriousmage, though it's not extremely noticeable in photos.

Oh, but on the subject of skin tone comparisons, does anyone know if AoD matches Dream of Doll normal skin at all? I have a body that needs a head.

I have two AOD boys :3 since we're talking about eyes, I thought I'd show you my Mycha [Yo]. I got his eyes from a doll shop on eBay and I love them so much. I thought I'd share :3
