OK, now to fill you guys in on my doll adventures!
I commissioned seven Outlaw Star "cosplay" clothes from Marishka here on DOA; and they will arrive soon!
I bought a sewing machine from Walmart: Brother LX2500
Also, while in Walmart, I noticed a few different novelty dressform shaped pin cushions.
Brand: Dritz
Year: 2012
Item Number: 11294

There were several different fabric patterns, and two different stands.
A round wood stand for $12.97, and a three legged metal stand for $10.97.
I bought a wood one with orange flowery fabric.

It's almost exactly the same size as Melfina, but the stand is shorter than her.
I put her shirt and skirt on the pin cushion; and they fit!
I hope to use the pin cushion to make shirts (guys and girls), dresses, and skirts for my girls!

I can't find where to buy them online, even at Walmart.com and Dritz.com but here are pictures:

Cute! I'll have to check out those pin cushions! lol I know I havent posted much, but I've been stalking the thread for a while. I just got my dollehs back from my cuz who was doll-sitting them while I was really busy with school. This is a pic I took when I got her back

I just wanted to share because I thought the pose came out really well. ^_^ (They usually look really stiff, I finally figured out how to make a bit more relaxed of a pose!)

 

Maiden: Yea... at some point i'm going to attempt to seal up the chip and then paint over her lips in a different color. Just haven't had enough courage yet. :P

Dove_Heart: awww that picture turned out really nice. The pose is very realistic. Thanks so much for sharing your girl with us!

Mysteriousmage Thanks! I finally realised that moving the middle joint makes her pose much more naturally. ^_^;;; lol! Your girlies dress is super cute too! I love the pattern!

The_Modern_Maiden Thanks! I made her clothes! That shirt is one of my favorites! I need to make her more like that. ^_^ And she was DEFINITELY sanded down. I knew she would look a little eh "cold" when I got her, but it was too much for me. Even with her cute bra on, it still showed. I felt she would be more comfortable without the nip-nip. lol I'm glad your project is coming along!

 

Oh wow Maiden! Those outfits are so amazing! She really did a great job on all of them. I had forgotten that you had Fred already too. Can't wait for you to have them all completed.

Dove_Heart, no worries, i've only just started realizing that as well. ^^; oh well. Very cool that you made the clothes too. I love her shirt! I didn't realize you had sanded her down too... I like it. I might have to do that to Roxanna, I just noticed yesterday when making her dress that she's uneven. >.>

It's always soo cool to see these similar sculpts and see just how different everyone's is. I also have a You sculpt~

I agree with Mysteriousmage.
It's funny how 50 people can have the same doll in the same sculpt and they all be so entirely different.
The sculpts have really changed as the years go by too.

 

I'm always surprised by how much other people's Yous look so different from mine, too! (Though part of that is that, when I first saw the preview on AoD's site, I thought You was a female sculpt! And even after seeing the regular images, I still thought the sculpt fit my female character, so that's how I ordered her.) I really love seeing the differences in them in people's pictures here.

 

I will agree that You does look more female. Even with a more "male" face up. haha at least my boy does. Very cool that you got yours as a girl. ^_^ Asyris on here got a Shajie sculpt and made it female as well.

I got a new wig to try on Lucien... Not sure if I like it though. Love the color... but the style isn't quite right for him I think. What do you all think?

 

My Grandma says "They all look like girls to me", and I have a few boys!
Admittedly... she's kind of right.
Harry's a new Le Gi sculpt on a non-muscular body, and has long hair with a bow in it.
Fred's an old Min on a non-muscular body, and he's homosexual, so wearing pink can make him look feminine.
Gene's the new Chen sculpt on an old muscular body, but he does have pierced ears.
Ron's an old Chen on a muscular body, but I did a horrible job on his face-up, so he does look weird.

Mysteriousmage your Lucien's wig goes very well with his new eyes!
The color is nice, but the wig does need something... cut shorter, styled differently, or spiked maybe?

My little AOD 1/4 crew had an interesting photo-shoot yesterday!
It took about five hours, but it was fun!
(setting up, dressing, posing, taking pictures, putting everything away, editing pictures, and posting)
I had a black curtain hanging behind a couch, and put a maroon fitted sheet over the couch.
I originally took the pictures to show each costume individually, but it became a playful photo-shoot.
45 pictures later I feel like I'm getting the feel for each character's mannerisms, stances, and poses.
