My twin sister gave me some large doll shorts a while ago, but I recently altered them to fit my dolls.
I have no idea of those are ducks or chicks... and I wanted to thank my sister; so that's how this happened!

Faith In Beauty I think it is extremely interesting/creative that you use your one doll to portray two different personalities!
Your Idria seems "earthy" while Jade (I like the chains & it's blue) seems a little wild.
Ideally I plan to do something like this with my "Outlaw Star" crew eventually.
I planned on them "cosplaying" together as other characters.
I'm still working on my "Default" characters, to start.

Just changing the eyes, wigs, posing, etc. even with the same face-up the doll itself is transformed.
You just gotta love this hobby!

thank you! yeah, i had this idea when i realized idrial had this one neat and sweet personality, and i wanted a bold one, that was still a part of her. you hit the nail right on the head. yes, jade is a bit Wild.

i think ive been called out on how i type for the first time in several years i have been using forum sites. i dont care about that its just a habbit now to type that way lol. but i suppose ill try to type like this. its really hard though now that im so used to typing online that way.

I was brave today and decided to pierce Lividians ears. He now has 3 rings in one and two in the other. I used an artificial nail drill and it worked perfectly.

I agree, Iron_Dog - my AOD kids pose really well. I have several dolls from other manufacturers, and they just don't compare with the AODs. And every time I think about adding to the family, I end up looking at more AODs! Bring 'em on!

 

Hello! I was looking at this thread this morning & everyone's lovely dolls.

But this one struck me so I have to ask about it.

Does this head have pointed ears? And Please what is the name of the sculpt? Thank you!

Not that I need another doll on the wish list but I would like to find this on the company website

And I think this wig looks very nice but this is quite an older post & you may of gone w/something else by now, LOL!

The name is in the post you quoted. It's "You." And yes, You does have pointed elf ears, and is a lovely sculpt that works well as both a male or female doll!

You can find him here, with lots of nice pictures of the head with and without a wig, so you can clearly see his (or her!) ears!

 

The only thing I wish AoD hadn't done was changed the wonderful muscular boy bodies to what they now have and that they stopped making tan resin *sigh*. I understand things change and new ideas replace old, but finding nice, mature 1/4 boys is not a terribly easy task when you don't have oodles of money to spend. Their tan was also a very nice colour with no orange-y tone to it.

 

Kavarr your brave, but Lividian looks fantastic!

JediSpiceGissia I have old, new, male and female 1/4 AOD's, they are the only BJD's I have, but the're great!
They pose well, and can hold a pose/stand right out of the box!
I hope you end up with a "You" to love soon!

I wholeheartedly agree Iron_Dog.
I never got the chance to get tanned skin, but I'm glad to have the two old male body's that I do have!
The male hands changed too, and the new body's hands... the second and third fingers are fused together, it's sad.

Moswen (Chi) is tan and I have a tan Min head (company screw up during a free head event *rolls eyes*). I kept putting off buying a body for the Min head (always another doll I wanted more, you know how that goes) and then... *poof* they stopped doing tan but never said boo that they were doing that. Should I go ahead with the plans I have for that Min head, I'm going to get a Magical Angel body and have them colour match their tan to the head. But again, I have other, more pressing dolly plans than FINALLY getting a body for that floating head (even though I know who I want him to be).

I also believe that their tan (at least the 2008 batch) was wickedly stable as I haven't seen any noticeable difference/colour shift between the two I have. Moswen is my favourite and he's been played with a lot indoors and out as well as travelled with me on various short and long vacations while the Min head has lived wrapped in bubble wrap in a leather bound box with a tight lid (i.e. no sun exposure) in a corner of my spare room.

I can't say for 100% certain but it sort of looks like AoD is taking design cues from Doll-Love (which I think is a sister company *scratches head*) with regards to the way their new 1/4 boy bodies look. I have a DL 1/4 boy but no new AoD 1/4 boy to compare them directly, but the style looks very similar. The DL bodies are nice and they pose quite well, but there's none of the wonderful musculature of the old AoD 1/4 boy bodies. There's very little muscle detail to them actually and DL (pardon the pun) short changed the boys in the manly package department unlike the old AoD boys who were quite nice.

 

I'm about to buy one of these bodies for my dollzone event Freddy1 head - I really love my 1/3 AoD Qian for posing and quality (although not her hands!) so I'm sure I'll be happy with their smaller dolls too - Plus Alices Collections sells them so cheap, it would be daft not to buy one I just hope Freddy looks good on it, as it's quite a big head I think.....

 

Really? I've had such a difficult time posing my AODs. Ok, I sort of take that back. I can get my boy to pose/stand ok but he has one of the old bodies. I cannot get my girl to stand/pose for the life of me. :P

Yup, just like Vicemage said his name is "You". ^^ haha and He still has his old brown wig. Havent found anything I like better. But then I havent exactly tried to hard. :P
