1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Oh that sounds horrible! I have repainted my AP several times now and it's never resulted in such a dramatic outcome? I just removed the head and cleaned it with nail polish remover and made sure to remove any residue.

    2. What were you using to remove the faceup? I'm so sorry that happened, that sucks

    3. I was using the Winsor Newton paint remover. It is an excellent cleaner and I used plenty of it on my resin doll and volks DD dolls. I think that’s because the joints are made out of a different material? Well, just beware of that and do not get any solution on the joints!

I was using the paint remover from Winsor Newton! To be fair, it is an excellent remover and I am still using it. It works great on both resin and volks DD dolls, and I have been using it for several years. I love it because it does not smell too bad comparing to other products! Just avoid the joints areas!

    4. My Tiffany finally got her suntan body :)

    5. @mikabc If it has acetone in the solution, that might be why. Their joints are made of ABS, which is a type of Acrylic (the same substance acrylic paint is made of). Acrylic can melt in acetone (or similarly strong dissolvents). I haven't noticed the same problem with rubbing alcohol, myself. That's what I usually use for my vinyl dolls, unless there's something especially strong I need to get off. Then, it's best to take the part off of the frame. Not that I always do that, lol; there's an Obitsu I have that has wonky hip joints because I sprayed the wrong kind of sealant (it made my doll sticky), and I had to use a TON of acetone to get it off.

If anyone is interested in the science behind it, acetone is a dissolvent (i.e., it dissolves things like paint). Almost every sprayable sealant on the market has acetone or a similar dissolvent in it, to keep the sealant in a liquid state. Once it's sprayed, the dissolvent evaporates too quickly to damage your work. In terms of using acetone to remove faceups, most of it will evaporate off, so you don't really need to worry about damaging your doll. The exception being ABS, or if you're literally soaking it in a tub of acetone for a long time. However, rinsing your doll off after removing the faceup doesn't hurt.

    8. I have one and I love her face I don't love her body but if that type of doll is worth it, I bought it second-hand from a friend

    9. Pardon me if this is a silly question, but are Angelphilia heads on-topic if hybridized with other bodies, or are they only grandfathered in if they have the Obitsu frame?

    10. Not sure, what body are you talking about?

    11. @sagearella
I guess I could have phrased that more clearly, sorry! :sweat

What I meant was, if an Angelphilia head is put on an on-topic body (say, a mature resin one from a company like Luts or Volks), would it be an on-topic doll here? Or are Angelphilia heads only ever on-topic if placed on their original, Obitsu-derived, frame-based bodies that were grandfathered in by the rules?

    12. I don't think they are too picky! An on-topic head with an on-topic body sounds fine.

    13. :) Crossing my fingers for sure! I know that of all the Angelphilia items, I'm honestly most interested in the heads. I'd rather have one of them on a strung body if at all possible, if I ever acquire one.

    14. Hey all! I am new to the AP world as of like 2 days ago :XD: I received a Konatsu and I’m thinking about switching out her bust. Someone has a bust style I really like for sale, but it’s the regular vinyl and not soft skin and my girl is soft skin. Is it possible to use a regular vinyl bust with a soft skin AP?

Also, who are y’alls favorite clothing sources besides CodeNoir and Mandarake? I have an obitsu 47 girl so luckily there are a few items around here that fit her already, but I want some other options.

    15. @GoroChaggi I am pretty sure those are compatible. You just need to check whether they are either the similar letter one or a letter combo's that fits. There are several letter types a, b, c, d, e... Just check that the torso type and bust type are compatible letters :3nodding:
      Congrats on your girl!

    16. Yes it is possible and compatible. My girl Cempasúchil has a soft body but in order for her to wear this outfit I change her soft large bust for this one with the hard vinyl (regular) and it fits perfectly :)
So it will be absolutely compatible :)

sorry for the late reply. I hope it helps a little.

This is Cempasúchil soft vinyl body with the regular bust

    17. Sorry if this is in the wrong topic but how often to AP face ups get reran/appear on the second hand market? I really love the Kumi and Riko models but they’re sold out! Is there any place to look for second hand options other than Mandarake?

    18. @LeSeraffime Could you clarify, are you after blank heads or the heads with faceup?

    19. heads with the face up would be my preference, but I could always commission a blank one! :XD:
