holes in the cap, that's not quite smart
basically u're forced to have an AH head or at least an headcap of'em (or make holes in your headcap's doll) to put the snakes.

 

Does that mean that you'll have to poke holes all over any wig that the guy is supposed to wear if you want him to have the snakes sprouting out?

 

Seeing the construction of the snakes makes it ten times more interesting. I can feel a mod project coming up, so it's good to hear the snakes will be for sale seperately.

I love the blind/eyeless snakes too. I think they will suit a sleeping head/blind character.

 

I really like the looks of this company so far. I like how they explain the snakes and don't just leave you guessing until your doll arrives. I'm not really in the market for a younger looking extra tall male doll, but I'm looking forward to what kind of girls they'll make.

 

It says the snakes will come with the medusa headcap when they are sold seperately. I am kind of bummed that they look so difficult I wonder if they will be up for individial sale by the 15th for the special discount/membership?

 

The snakes are cool and part of me wants a few. But they're all the same mold and I dont want to have holes in headcap. I would prefer those super strong magnets, then I don't need a holey wig and can move them around on any headcap.

He is cool but that neck is insane, and I really don't like the white head with pink body. Surely not the worst out there but the body could use some refinement IMHO (especially the giraffe neck and side nipples). I think its definitely a good start but could use some more work. I look forward to seeing their future stuff.

I am sure we will be seeing a lot more fantasy dolls coming out, and while soom is the trendsetter I can't see how this particular doll compares.

Did I just read that right? are they saying that the head will be available on its own, at a later date?

 

At least the headcap and snakes will be, from what I gather.

 

There are some pretty strong magnets out there.. I'd rather put them in a headcap or under a wig and fiddle with them than punch holes >_< Even if they end up a bit wiggly.

I need to be able to remove the snakes from the doll I'll be putting them on easily.. My mother is deathly afraid of snakes, I don't want to have to scare her every time the doll is around just because if I remove them the doll's head will look like swiss cheese ._.

I love fantasy doll parts though, I'm really glad another company is starting up. For their first doll (I agree the body is a bit.. weird..), I think they're definitely headed in the right direction. Male Gorgon weirdness aside.. o_o;

I 'll order it in pure white all parts pure white , snakes & body and head so I 'll avoid brushing too ...

 

Maybe the snakes are attached to the headcap so that AngelHeim can make a profit selling the special wigs with holes too.

I'd like to see Zion in a natural, boyish faceup without the snakes, actually. I like his sculpt.

 

I really like the look of this company, they seem to understand the whole customization aspect of the hobby. I am really tempted to try and buy him because he is so interesting, but I know I can't afford him right now. I do look foreword to seeing what else they come up with, I think they will definately be a company for me to watch. I like thier first scuplt and the idea around him so I look foreword to more.

However, I was a little sad by all the initial comparison to SOOM. ((I have nothing against soom, I like a lot of their idea, they have come up with a lot neat things, i would love to own some of their tinies)) However, I don't want this fledgling company to live in the shadow of such a monster sucess, and I think the gorgon idea was really inventive. I know it must have been a daunting tast, especially for the a new companies first doll (those snake teeth are individually glued in!!).

Now I have to go get talked out of trying to put him on layaway.

Like others have said, I want to see how this boy looks with a natural face up. I wasn't much into his sculpt until I saw it blank in their progress photos, he looked so sweet.

I would also love to see someone paint their snakes to look like a real snake species, or even match them to a pet snake and get some awesome doll+pet photos!

I just ordered him yesterday and paid as well.

I'm a little disappointed with the snakes but I think I can deal and try to mod a wig for him. I didn't buy his wig so...I'm kinda lucked out or something. I wish they just had it magneted with STRONG magnets. I don't know. x_x;; I hope cutting up wigs won't be so bad. I want him to have dark green hair. XD;

 

To be fair, I've looked at getting magnets from a supplier to try some similar things, and in looking at the ones available in very tiny little sizes (small enough to fit in the base of those snakes, at a glance) they don't have terribly much holding power.

But when you look at their charts for strength here (http://www.kjmagnetics.com/magnetsummary.html) magnets of this size still aren't incredibly strong compared to, say, the ones used to hold headcaps on by many manufacturers. With just magnets holding them on, I really do think they'd be a little too easily knocked off, unfortunately, and for something so detailed and delicate, I would really be afraid they'd break. Much as it would have been awesome for these to be magnet only, I really do think they made the right call here.

 

URGENT UPDATE REGARDING Snakes

Dear all Angelheim Supporters.

It has been very exciting moment after our launch. And we are very surprised so many people loved a Medusa Character. Thanks again.

Frankly, I never ever expected i could write this kind of letter so often with my poor English. However, I am forced to tell you about this update urgently and i have no idea how to tell you about this stupid story now. But sometimes, telling honest is better than telling wisely. So, Let me confess.

The day before yesterday, we were in TOTAL SHOCK and PANIC by one of the BJD enthusiasts who mentioned about our snake parts.

To tell you the true, we had been in such a painful development for our Genius Hexagonal Poking Snakes with Magnets. It was a pure pain. (8 hexagonal sticks to make them balanced, and drill the hexagonal holes, and design 8 HOLE wigs.....bla bla bla, we almost took more than a month to complete....We were very proud of this cool invention.... LOL )

2 days ago, One of DOA member said, "....there might be a stronger magent... instead of poking"
And that moment we read that, all of our faces turned white and some of us turned into the stone..... And then, we realized that how easily the stressed and isolated enviroment can stupidify us like that simple.

"Stronger Magnets!"

"That can get rid of these Geniusly Stupid Poking Sticks and Holes!!!!"

"And we don't have to make those horrible 8 hole wigs too !!!"

Making a wig with 8 holes is not a fun at all and that is our MAIN STRESS TOO... (We had to be extreamly carefull about putting islets without the hair damages....)

Yesterday, we tested with our samples with taller and stronger magnets....and guess what....IT WORKED FINE WITH ONLY MAGNETS.....

So from now on, Our ZION snakes will be compatible to all other BJD dolls, and even you can attach on the refregerator...

We are in RUSH to mod this molds and we are truelly sorry for this change happening after the launch. (But it won't take long...we almost finished them by now....THAT EASY.... ) Please understand us we are a newbie and small. But i would like to emphasize that Small does not mean Slow, so i want to call ourselves SLIM which will move quick and modify quick for the better.

Today, we would like to let people who already ordered and others know this Mod clearly. And we will update whole process with the pictures tomorrow soon. [SIZE=+2](And finally we will sell parts from tomorrow!)
