I plan to order the mermaid from AS, too. In case someone needs more information about it. I've talked with the AS shop through Taobao. The shop states that this mermaid tail is offered for a limited time or quantity. When they reach the maximum quota, AS will stop selling it. They sell the mermaid tail (Blue and Purple) and the upper body part (chest and arms part) separately.

No head is available for the mermaid tail. I think you need to buy another full doll from AS in order to get the head. If you order a female doll that comes with a 1/3 Girl with high heel legs body (The newest body). You can use the chest and arms part of this body with the mermaid tail. For example, the body that comes with Lesser Snow.

You can choose any resin skin color. AS can produce the same resin skin of the human part at the top of the mermaid tail. So it'll compatible with the head and the human body. AS recommend buying the doll in a Solid Milk skin to get the best results.

That's all I know about this mermaid tail. There might be some error information since I communicate with the shop in Chinese by using Google Translate. Maybe you can wait for the official information from AS English website. Hope it helps.

Finally got some boots, eyes, lingerie...she’s looking less like a piece of resin and more like a personality now!

First time ever putting eyes in, I assume this doesn’t look too zombie-eyed?

The boots are to go with an ancient Chinese aesthetic but it’ll be months before I get her clothes and hair from Taobao...still, I’m looking forward a lot to dressing her up when everything shows up!!

With the previous English cs person gone, does anyone know if they still do colour matching and what the process would be now? I like their bodies best out of the ones I've seen mentioned as doing it...

 

Why do they advertise a sale of 10% off but nothing looks like it is on sale?

 

I think they refund the 10% after you pay? I might be wrong tho, you should probably contact them directly to know. ><

 

They take the discount off your total in-cart! I have a super full cart, and I went to check. Seems to be site wide.

Quick question: how does AS resin match Dollmore or FL NS? I’m giving up on whoever the new person is responding for custom colours, but I’m interested in a few hybrids, and am wondering if the difference is workable?

@akiko0021 She's gorgeous, congrats! Bai Ning was one of the dolls I'd considered to be my first doll but at the time I couldn't for the life of me find good owner photos so I ended up not getting her in the end. I hope you post lots of photos of this beauty

 

@Yuns - I had the advantage of familiarity with AS dolls so I could trust that even without many owner photos I was pretty safe ordering her. Then I saw a broken one for sale on the market and kept looking at her so figured that was probably another good sign - she was appealing to me even broken.
And its never too late to get her ;p

 

@akiko0021 I'm super picky and had the impression from some angles on her promo photos that I didn't like her profile, but since I couldn't find owner photos I decided not to risk it. My first was from AS anyway, but she was a girl I knew I loved from all angles of her promo photos even without owner pictures, haha. That is a good sign indeed, if you consider getting a broken one then that's gotta be love right?
Ah, unfortunately I'm not sure I ever will. :'D The role I wanted her for has since been filled and I have so many plans for other dolls now, she'd end up way at the end of my list, it'd take years before it's her turn, haha. But I shall live vicariously through other people's photos of her!

My XiaZhi got shipped out on July 3rd and I wasn't expecting her to be finished until August. She's sitting in customs somewhere, but hopefully she'll be home soon! Unfortunately, I had some trouble communicating with their English agent. I tried to get them to redo some glitter on her cheek, as the glue they used to secure it had sort of globbed up and was kind of visible, but the agent just wasn't understanding what I said, even when I showed them a photo that clearly pointed out the problem area. The agent admitted that they were brand new to the company, so I just told them to ship the doll out as is. Crossing my fingers that she looks alright upon arrival.
