2020 Winter Fiona special

Fiona is so pretty, and the new customer service is really good. I hope July stays with them for a long time because she responds to emails quickly and is so very helpful. Those who were hesitant to buy before because of communication issues, should give them a chance.

I ordered a doll (the doll I missed out on because of communication issues with the older rep) and she helped me order her. She arrived 3 months or so later and Im really happy with her. Im preparing her to present her to you, but July working at Angell Studio is something that makes me optimistic and happy for Angell Studio's future

I ordered the new LiShishi as a fullset in solid white with a different faceup. I love how she looks like a dreamy version of Faon

@GreenTeaSlug As much as I love the Fiona head, sadly AS doesn't have anything else I want enough to shell out that much for it. So, I'll have to live vicariously through you.

 

@Cloudedmind Ive rationalized it by pretending Im buying the full fiona doll, and Im getting a free head of whatever that full doll Im getting ; Ill just switch the heads and probably keep the head of the full doll on the side if Im not vibing with it

I really like the newer bodies (2017v 1/3 heel leg girl) and the (2020 mature heel leg girl). Both of them are really good posers and look really pretty. I just decided on the 2020 ver mature body (its the body used on the 2020 Hua Rong and the new Li Shishi). She's a bit fuller and fits the general SD clothes tighter to me. She can also wear heels made for SDgrG and SD16 girls which is always a plus to me.

 

@GreenTeaSlug Sadly, I'd want my Fiona head to be a boy, and I'm not sure if her head could work on any of their boy bodies. Also, I can't find nude pictures of their smaller bodies on the site either.

Though in my case I didn't really have a choice since someone messed up my Mulan Fullset order and it wasn't placed. Either that or she was noted as Xue Baochai instead, as my dealer received a Xue Baochai fullset nobody ordered.

Anyway because of COVID quarantine I didn't follow up until she was approaching the one year mark, and that's when I found out they don't have a Mulan fullset on record for me.

Since it's too late to order another fullset at this point, I just switched my payment towards a Li ShiShi fullset instead.

 

I'm annoyed that Angell Studio didn't offer the free head through dealers. Almost every other company I know extends their events to dealers, because why bother having dealers if you're going to incentivize NOT ordering through dealers?

I still ended up ordering through a dealer, since the exact doll combination I wanted wasn't available through the AS site and the dealer was able to get AS to agree to the combination I want very quickly. So no bonus head for me, but yay doll.

 

@Cauldroness which dealer did you order from? Legenddoll is offering the free head though. And my dealer too.

 

My dealer said I couldn’t get the head because I was ordering a limited doll (Wenyao mermaid). I’m doing a layaway through Clover Singing. I really love the event head and wish I could get it.

 

@Cauldroness I noticed that quite few companies do that too.. Im guessing to keep orders with them direct as a first choice (Asleep Eidolon had 2 limited fullsets but to get the wigs in the fullset, you had to order through them only!...which I did because it looked cool as a whole). Personally, Ive had really good experience with Angell Studio and their layaway recently so I order through them directly from then on.

Im really curious what combination you got?

Im expecting my White Doe to arrive any day now! I need to take pictures of my Angell Studio dolls, I love the new mature body and the 2017v body, to me, its just as good as Volks's SDgrG which I really love (without the panty joint, which Im not too fond of)

 

I was a little hesitant to share because I was afraid I would somehow jinx it, but Angell Studio confirmed the order with my dealer today so it's the real deal now.

I don't know if anyone remembers Elena, the girl that was debuted back in 2017 but never actually sold, as far as I can tell? I've seen one or two Chinese owners with her (but one I think actually works for AS), but that's it. Anyway, I fell in love with her the first moment I saw her and have been wanting her for 3 yrs now. I'd asked Angell Studio about her but never got a reply... Well, Moonlight BJD, the new Canadian dealer, reached out to Angell Studio. I guess they like to give each dealer a special offer (kind of like how IoriDolls was able to offer Fiona as a regular order doll), and Moonlight was kind enough to pick Elena as their "special" so they could get her for me.

I ordered a pair of twins, one in butter and one in tawny. Apparently they're both coming on the new Li Shishi body. I still don't quite believe it's real and that Elena will finally be coming home to me... I don't think I'll really believe it until she actually arrives (estimated in April 2021). Right now it feels too much like a dream and I'm afraid I'll wake up...

Oh you better believe it! Dont worry, a year or so ago I missed the chance at getting LiuRushi because of the older rep communication issues, but with the help of the newer rep (July is amazing) after knowing my situation, helped me get her. Im very excited for you, because youve been waiting a long time - AND because you got her on the LiShishi body (the new mature 60 body!) I have it and I love it so much + it can wear those SD16 / SDgrG heels, and is one of my favorite female bodies because it looks beautiful and is able to pose sturdy and well. I love the thigh joint so much.

I think you will get her sooner than that. I placed my order for White Doe fullset twins on April 21 and received her on Sept 17. 5 months of wait time, so I think a february arrival is more likely

Moonlight is a really kind and nice dealer. Ive never dealt with them, but Ive had some questions and they were always friendly, plus they always have beautiful items for order. Something to look forward to in 2021 and I hope she exceeds your expectations

It still feels totally unreal to me. I can't remember the last time I felt this excited about a new doll (well, in this case, dolls!). Plus I've always had a think for multiples, at home already I have two sets of twins and two sets of triplets!

Do you have any photos of the new body? I've been unable to find any on the Angell Studio website or Instagram account.

 

AS Made me an Elena as well! Excited to see yours's in the different skin tones, mine is in the translucent pink

I'm planning to have her repainted one of these days, AS did a pretty job but its too subtle for photography.

Looks like they removed the thigh mobility joint. It doesnt show, but the toes have also been changed to be closer together, without a space between them like the 2017 body

Another picture because I thought the new headcap of White Doe is really cute with the hearts! Her head is so much smaller than the other Angell Studio girls I have, maybe its a new style change, but I think its cute

Are the ankles photoshopped to make them look smooth? Or do they have high heel legs that are one piece?

 

@davri I havent photoshopped anything, these are the default leg options of the newer bodies

 

2020 looks a fair bit taller, and seems to have a bit broader shoulders. I think this means I'm in danger of getting one of a floating head. Thanks so much for the pics!

 

@Chameleon I love that body too and yes, she is broader, thicker and much taller than them

That body is the 62cm body replacement - its called the mature girl with regular chest on my order sheet. It came with the new 2020 HuaRong and is the default body of the LiShishi new doll. Double check your order if you want this body, it should say 60cm girl, the other body (2017) will either be labeled 2017ver or 58cm girl body.

The other body is technically 2020 too (the white one) because its an update of the 2017 58cm girl body

Its a very good body, very sturdy and fits clothes nicely. I love the high heel default legs because the fit SD16 and SDgrG heels perfectly and I like how pretty the non ankle feet is... I wish it was standard for all high heel legs on all doll lines XD

 

I'm not the one who asked, but I'd like to say anyway. Thank you for the pictures, they're very helpful! While we're on the subject of bodies, what would you say the 60 body is like to handle? My girl is from 2015 and though she was my very first doll and I love looking at her, she rarely ever gets any attention because her body refuses to stand without A LOT of fiddling (her legs won't stay put, one keeps trying to move forward on its own, restringing hasn't helped) and it's gotten to a point that it makes me angry rather than happy to get near her, so I've been dying to get her a new body, but struggle to find a resin match for the butter resin. If the new ones handle better, maybe that's the solution I need!

The thigh mobility joint for the left two bodies, was it just as rotational joint? Or did it allow the knees to fold up to the chest? I recently ordered white deer too but in milk. But I guess I'm a little sad that they got rid of the extra mobility. Do you miss it in the white Doe body?
Also which one fits the Volks sdgr and sd16 heels? The 58cm or the 62cm? Or do they both wear the same size shoes?
