1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Angell-Studio Youth (58-61cm) and Charm (62-71cm) Discussion Vol. 3

Apr 14, 2017

    1. I asked a dealer (who speaks Chinese) to help me ask them since I emailed twice directly and got no reply. They said they don't sell them on their own, I need to pick either flat or high heel legs :/ Which is weird since another dealer offers the option of adding high heel legs to orders... I don't know if this decision is a new one they've made or what :?
But they said they can swap the flat feet legs for high heel legs for an extra $22 instead. So I'm guessing they really do no longer offer the option of both :/

    2. @BynByn93 I believe they are no longer selling separate body parts because I asked them the same thing and they only offered to swap the legs for extra cost. It can't be language barrier since someone helped me to ask them in Chinese and I asked them in English and we got the same answer. I ordered 60cm body with high heels instead because all my dolls will wear high heels mostly.

    3. That really sucks :/ I don't really understand why they would do that...most companies will sell extra parts if you buy a whole doll (or least a body). Kinda odd for them to not allow it now.

I'm planning on getting the Racrimosa as a new shell for another doll of mine. The current doll I have wears mostly high heels all the time (I've not actually attached the flat feet for years lmao), but I really would prefer to have the option of both if I want to dress them more casually with flat shoes >w<
Also, the high heel legs are single jointed, right? Which makes me even less likely to choose high heel legs if that's all I'll get.

Looks like I'll go with flat feet and find some high heel feet from another company and blush them to match better >w<
I've already been looking around at some companies, and I'm considering either Impldoll or AOD.
I know AOD normal pink skin is pale and pinky from experience in the past, and I had some AS hands and feet in solid pink a while back, so it should be possible to blush AOD normal pink to match closer to AS solid pink. That's not taking into account if the feet will fit in the ankle socket though, which is a whole other issue to overcome *holds head in hands*
It's just real lucky I love the character for this doll so much that I'm willing to go through the hardship

    4. I expect its a language barrier? I bought extra parts with my girl - though that was a couple years ago now. Their English rep isn't as strong as their original one was.

    5. Hi All, I have a quick question: does anyone know if Faon (the evening dress version - White Deer) and White Doe are of the exact same sculpt, or they are two different sculpts that just happen to look very similar to each other on the company pics because they share the same face up?

      Thank you!
      :)

    6. I believe they are the same.

    7. Here's my AS WeiJie~

    8. Thanks. I always thought they looked the same but was not sure. Just wanted to check if it really mattered whether I purchased the blank Faon or the blank White Doe.

      :)

    9. Hi~ Does anyone know if AS sell big bust for their females (62 cm, more specifically) ? I have an AS XiShi with normal bust (24 cm) but, I think it may be easier to fit clothes for her if she has a SD16 or SDGr sizing (26cm - big bust).

    10. My Greater Snow will come home to me in any day soon. But she will come home blank and I attempt to do face up for her. One thing I’m concerned is to remove the faceup. I have heard many things about acetone and it can be a hit or miss depending on the doll. Has anyone try acetone with AS dolls? I will mix it with water to weaken the effect but still kind of nervous.

    11. I wouldn't use acetone. It's known to 'eat' resin, and if it does, there's no means to repair it, except to sand off the weakened resin. I've personally had luck with Windsor-newton brush cleaner, and Isopropyl for removal, though I don't let either sit on resin for extended periods of time (ie: I don't soak it)

EDIT: American Seamstress' reply to this thread sums up the Acetone situation very well

    12. I have used clear nail polish remover (contains acetone) on my AS62 girl body (I was wiping off the body blushing I did) and didn't have an issue. I did not soak her though. I also did the same with my Loongsoul boy (I wiped down the default faceup...) and did not encounter any issue so far.

Edit: I am not sure how pure acetone work on resin. Sorry, can't help you much :(

    13. I personally use W&N brush cleaner and haven't had any issues with my practice head.

On a different note, I had some fun with instagram filters lol

    14. My Greater Snow is here, when it's cold and snowing outside haha.

I was struggle dressing her up because she kept sliding down the pillow. The 2017 body doesn't have thigh joints and the knees are single-joints so it's hard for her to sit straight. Love the skin colour and body but the single-joints legs kinda put me off. Her head and arms are mostly the only parts I can move around the most. Her breast joint doesn't really bend much. And since she comes with heel legs I can't make her stand until I find heels for her. Well for now she will just sit on my bed.

Since she is my 1st doll (ordered last but came first), I'm still trying to figure out how to remove her hands to wear clothes. I see people pull out the body parts easily but I tried very hard just to see a bit of the string. I don't know maybe because I'm too weak or what

    15. Cute outfit! Where were you able to order an open eyed greater snow?
Removing hands on that body is actually quite difficult... I ended up having to unscrew the eyelet screw in the hand to unhook the elastic when I unstrung the mermaid body...

    16. @Quinn.nnp to remove her hands, its easy. You pull out the hand, twist it 90 degrees from the original position to lock it. Then, you can remove the hands with no worries.

    17. Like this right?

@bahboh I found a taobao agency that had her in stock and had them shipped her to a shipping company in China to ship to me. They had Liu Rushi too but I was too late. They still have Hua Rong last time I checked. I was quite worried but she came home safe (Canada custom border agents opened her box though). I paid for shipping but no tax.

Honestly I only ordered one doll through a North America agency. Once I figured out how to pay through taobao I order everything bjd related there. I find so many good things that companies actually offer but you can't get through agencies (like buying head only or clothes only)

    18. Oh! i guess the wrist/hand system is different on the mermaid body compared to the 58cm 2017 body!
      That's much easier looking!
