Thanks @Toxigenesis. This is actually what really worries me. Xuan Hui looks great with his promo high-contrast saturated makeup. I'm afraid he won't have the same vibe with more subtle makeup.

 

@Mysha If it's any consolation, Keyboards was a limited release in uh... 2014 I think? So maybe they've gotten better at mimicking the promo faceups by now? Oh man mine really was sitting in his box for 5 years wasn't he, now I'm sad aaaaa

Could you give me some link or a tag? I've seen just a couple of photos and I believe all of them from the same owner. Curious to see if you've been able to dig out some more.

After all, I decided against buying Xuan Hui. He gives me a totally different vibe on his owner pictures than the promo pictures. He's sweet but too cute for what I had in mind for him.

 

Just popping back in here to ask if anyone knows when's the next time that AS will do a promotion, like x% off dolls?
Wondering if I should wait a little bit longer to order something or just do it now if it'll be a while before more promotions.

 

I'm 99% sure there will at least be a sale on AS products in new clover singing at the end of 2021/beginning of 2022.

 

Christina (new clover singing) says something about potentially having a big sale in November.

 

Another quick question, if somebody here knows: how much do AS usually charge for just a head (1/3 scale)?

I managed to find an old page on AS's site for a Kana head and it said $138, and a dealer had a head listed for $150. Is this a roughly correct average for the cost of a head?

 

@BynByn93 AS doesn’t sell the head only. They sometimes do promotion where you spend certain amount and you can buy a single head or free head like in 2019 with Fiona head.

Here is a photo of Liushishi and Fiona together. Finally I can dress them properly, but still not complete yet. The height difference between old and new body looks good. But I think they can’t share same clothes since new body is much thicker. I had the dress customized for new body so it fits perfectly. Old body will have to use clothes for sd13 or sdgr.

 

Yeah I know they don't offer them typically, but people have had some luck with asking directly for just a head. Sometimes they allow it, sometimes they don't >w< Was asking for a rough price as I've currently done a split for a doll, so I wanted to make the split fair for price of the head

 

@BynByn93 from what I see it depends on how rare and popular is the head. Like Liurushi head was super popular so the price can go up to $230 with makeup or not. I once saw her head on FB listed for $250 with makeup. Other head is around $150 or less.

I’m waiting for AS to release special doll like the mermaid before since their sculpt look so similar to each other recently. Atm I have 4 AS dolls plus extra heads and 2 mermaid bodies and I feel like it’s too much lol.

Hi, can anyone help me hybrid my AS head please? My new Loongsoul 58cm body is not proportionally fit.

 

What resin color and body type are you after?

 

My AS head is milk skin, even though I'm fine with white skin bodies, color match is not important. As for body type, maybe mature one? Her head is just too big for my bodies ( Ringdoll teen, Loongsoul 58cm, Asleep Eidolon 1/3).

 

I tried my AS Elizabeth on one of my Feeple65 bodies once and absolutely loved the proportions, if you're going for mature I think that'd work great! Iplehouse SID works too (and is what I ended up doing for with her), but you'll need to mod the neck sadly.

 

That's good info to know, @Yuns ! I got a free head with my Biyao and I'd like a body for her as well, but had no idea where to start. When you say mod the neck, I assume you mean sand it down so the head will fit?

 

It had to be sanded down, yes. I don't have a photo on me right now but I'll try to get one of how she looks in the body later!
