1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Another Artist Using Doll Likenesses Without Crediting?

Mar 5, 2014

    1. Yup, no respect. If you lack the skills to become an artist, you should find yourself another job to provide for your family.

    2. Saw a few dolls I know belong to artist friends; contacted them via tumblr and DA. :*(

    3. Hey Guys, it's internet, so we can be sure of nothing in fact : is their any proof, I mean actual proof, that the child is even what he says he is ?
It could be is cousin, nefew, or the girl next door child after all ?!

I'm just saying that to take some distance with the things he says... We shouldn't emphathize, or pity him... Whatever is situation, this is not a reason for stealing others hard work and creativity and imagination and... soul... And no reason for claming to be something ("an artist") that he is not... and taking advantage of it...

BTW, I've known many -real- artists, and a lot of them (not to say all of them) are really humble about their work and usually don't call themselves "artist"... That's the others that call them that...

    4. Yes, Thank you! Please do not give her a hard time. She updated her interview after reviewing the info I sent her.

    5. Not a pipos...it is a CG character and so cute!

I will post up the original later

    6. I just saw the blog entry, really guys, don't harass her :(
She's actually helping us and doing us a favor, being rude to her won't help us and our situation at all.
We should be grateful she listens to us and tries to look at the situation from both sides.

    7. You know what, you're completely right. It didn't occur to me right away that everything he's posted, from his "art" to his personal life could be fabricated. From creeping his FB page, I do still believe more than not that the child is probably his, but at the same time we shouldn't be letting that get in the way that his actions and him defending them are wrong and inexcusable.

    8. I don't think there is a way to back out of your contribution. It's a one way street, either the goal is reached and your money is deposited into the pot or it doesn't and the transaction is canceled.
I don't know what KS has as a fraud filter/back out plan or if the individuals have to file a class action suit or small claims. I wouldn't want to be involved with a project that could be sued for theft.

    9. I'm wondering if this image from his FB is showing up in the comic that he'll make money from (if it's released) because when I saw the picture it looked an awful lot like a warthog from Halo.
A little run though google images like this:
What looks to be the original:
      http://www.deviantart.com/art/Halo-4-Warthog-on-Earth-297252919

Copy: (with a copy of the vehicle missing the mounted gun on the back. At least this time he seemed to make an effort to change the picture beyond a few filters)
      https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/t1/554922_297984160331195_2205937_n.jpg

There's also a "found in the swamp picture that's a filter of a pic from a scifi wallpaper site.

Back to the warthog, I'm not sure Bungie would appreciate someone making money off their original designs either. (or the guy on DA that put a lot of work into that Warthog render.)

    10. This is exactly what I've been thinking.:? If he stole the photo of the kid and the self portrait photo even it wouldn't surprise me one bit...after all his false claims of sketching and working on those images like he knows what to do with a pencil and pen. For someone being so blatantly bold...with his own 'persona' putting it out there (rather recently) and combined with the fraudulent abundance of work he's claiming to be his...it just reeks of a scam artist more than anything else to me. What better way than to drum up donations for his "work" than to claim he's broke and has a child?

If he does indeed have a child and a family...I feel sorry for them in having such a poor role model of a father.

If he's mentally inpaired well that's unfortunate...but he still is breaking the law. If that's the case, maybe his mother or wife or whoever will see the error of his ways and get him help.

    11. I am not affected by any of this personally - but am suitably horrified at what he has done. Has anyone affected contacted this lot then ?? It has been a most fascinating thread to follow - on how everyone is working together to protect each other. Just hope that some of the more fearsome messages on DA don't get people into trouble. I think he must have no shame to put up another funding request project up, after being so comprehensively outed already. We all suffer from lack of finances - but try and get round it legitimately - ie working etc. There is no excuse for such carryings on, I just wonder if he has been doing it for so long now, he actually believes his own hype. Must be quite sad to have a career as an "artist" and then realise you're rubbish and then compensate for it by nicking other peoples stuff. It's a bit late for a career change at 44, or would certainly be difficult, but I think he should consider his options before it ends up in a terrible mess.

    12. I've participated in a Kickstarter project before, and from my understanding the fee is only charged to the backer's accounts once the project meets its goal and reaches the deadline. I've never had to front any fees. So seeing as the project had been funded, but was still within the time limit when Kickstarter shut it down, I would assume that no one's going to be charged for their pledge and will get a notice regarding the cancellation.

    13. I actually sent a message to my niece who does artwork (mostly furry related) to keep an eye out and to make sure her online stuff has the watermark, just in case.

It would be one thing if he had asked "hey can I borrow your pictures to help me learn the stuff on Photoshop" or something like that, AND gave credit where credit is due, but this..... This takes the cake. Ugh. Some people. (I've enjoyed a running commentary from the wifey though :) )

    14. I feel bad for the sites and the interviewers who had no idea this occurred. Not only is he trying to make a profit from other people's property and artwork, he's hurting the reputation of these sites and writers.

And if these pictures aren't of him, in true internet anonymous fashion, it's a really elaborate hoax. But then again, it's the internet so I wouldn't discount it just yet? And if someone is pretending to be the guy in the pictures, stealing an identity carries jail time. Either way, it's terrible. Luckily with Kickstarter (as others have said), if the project gets canceled/never reaches its goal, the money is not withdrawn. I have no idea with Gofundme, though.

    15. Thanks for that information, I hope it does get canceled.
With this large worldwide and diverse BJD community it's like having eyes everywhere. I am very happy that I could become a part of it. (A recent newbie) My dA photographer/collaborator Kilian Grey is also happy I joined.

    16. Do we know for a fact there's something wrong with the Gofundme thingy? Or is it fishy by association?
