1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Another Artist Using Doll Likenesses Without Crediting?

Mar 5, 2014

    1. Proud of the many, disappointed by the few.

    2. I can't exactly remember the text extract from his book on kickstarter - but I wonder if he's also stolen Rumery's work as a writer too?

    3. The original photos are so much better. I gotta say it guys. His "paintings are really awful". I guessing he doesn't have any skills but just wants to make art. I hope those effected have their work recognized and removed from his portfolio. I've had this happen recently with work that my team and I created for a game released over a year ago. It's frustrating.

    4. What do you think - shall we contact Eminem and tell him he could easily become part of fantasy artbook or else?

    5. Why not. No doubt his agent would be very interested in how someone may be planning to use his client's image without permission.

    6. Not to mention the photographer who took it.

    7. Oh, absolutely! First Disney, now this ...

    8. He may be starting a new project, or even an agency, We Three Archers Illustrated Productions by Matthew C. Nelson. We all know what it will be specializing in...

    9. ...stealing the art work of other artists, editing it in photoshop, then claiming that the edited piece is original digital art work?

    10. We'll see how far his new endeavor goes after all this. Though, where did you find this?

Edit: Nevermind, I guess it's on his Facebook. I wonder if we could find the original silhouette and see if that's another "borrowed" image. I'm sure that if it is, the owner won't be happy. I'm surprised he's still pushing it, though.

    11. I've never encountered such a tenacious little thief. It's almost impressive.

    12. All this just proves that he's not going to stop only he gets rejected from all his publishers and/or gets sued by a major company.

    13. Just gonna say, I think that that is an image from Avatar. I could be wrong, but it's got that vibe.

    14. Isn't it possible that in the State of Florida (where he lives) he could face some sort of Fraud charges or something? I think that an attempt to make money using stolen art, or opening a Kickstarter and using stolen copyrighted material, could be construed as an attempt to defraud a company or financial investors? I'm not a legal expert so I'm just asking out of curiosity.

    15. I'm pretty sure he could face charges for it. It might actually be a federal law, though I wouldn't know (not a lawyer or law-type person) but I hope that he does see consequences and finally to a point where he can't even try to do this again because everyone will know.

    16. He'd likely only see court in Florida if someone was willing to prosecute. So, only if they thought this case was worth while. I doubt the state would take him to court, just because it takes a lot of money to prosecute and it's not a high profile case. Sad, really.

Edit: If they did, he might get slapped with some fines, at best.

Edit again: Though, if someone were to contact the media in Florida and get some kind of attention on him, the state might feel pressured to pursue him if it created enough hubbub.

Sorry, I'm just adding thoughts as they come. Even if the media was contacted, it's not really a "news worthy" crime. It only affects a limited audience. If he had stolen the Mona Lisa and tried to pass it off as his own work, it would be considered "news worthy" and understood by the average viewer. I'm not saying at all that the art stolen is in any way less valid than the Mona Lisa, but for the news to want to jump on board everything has to be sensational.

    17. It's very similar, but I think it might be from a different angle or something. The hips/thigh look really awkward, too. MCN's silhouette seems to have a quiver as well. It looks very, very similar, but it may either not be the correct source or he may have altered it (which would be my guess, considering the strange anatomy that seems like an amateur pasted on afterward to make "clothes")
