1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Another Artist Using Doll Likenesses Without Crediting?

Mar 5, 2014

    1. That isn't it. The stance is much different and MCN's version has a bump on the chest, as well. Also, there is a strange bulge on one side of the face, but only one "ear" is visibly sticking out in MCN's version. I'm thinking he may have still taken something more like a Na'avi because of the slim figure and the long arrow with no head (and the type of bow used is very similar in shape and style to that of the Na'avi) but probably not the same one that was linked earlier.

    2. I actually think he drew this. *maybe*

      My hypothesis/observations:
The archer figures are identical copies. If you look closely you will see they are all the same.
They are awkward because he is poor at proper anatomy. And they are just outlines because he is poor at coloration/details/everything else.
So they are just filled outlines, then some "fancy" gradients and photoshop filters.

    3. That might be it, too >3< I can't imagine anything official and "worth" stealing would have such wonky hips and curved-in thighs like that.

    4. Do you know of any way to contact the artist, Sodabeentjes? I don't speak Turkish (which is what the site in your link seems to use), but I hope we can reach somebody who can talk to them about this in detail.

    5. The picture was painted by Oleksiy Golovchenko, it seems he has other profiles as well where it might be easier to contact him (google plus and youtube) I'll look at that tomorrow.

    6. I wrestled with Google Translate to hopefully compose a coherent message to the artist for the "Doga" image on Flickr. I invite anyone who speaks proper Turkish to follow it up, because I'm not very confident in my message. I also sent a link to the stolen picture on Facebook, so even if the message is hard to understand I hope they can see what I meant.

    7. I wonder if he speaks English, too. If he does, I feel like a very silly person now.

    8. It looks to me like he speaks English. He's working in Canada which means he'd have to speak English or French or both to get by...

    9. Not necessarily. I know people in Canada who only speak Russian or German, and just like in the United States, people can get along in Canada within specific ethnic/cultural community areas, such as "China Town", for example... or "Little Saigon" that has all Vietnamese restaurants with employees who don't speak English.

    10. Very true but judging by his CV it does seem like he has some English familiarity. Besides unlike stupid America most countries teach 1 (or more) foreign languages to children and MANY push English since it's the 'international' language of business. As a teacher I wish America would stop waiting until students are in high school to start foreign languages. When I was growing up I had no opportunities for foreign language until 8th grade!!! (sorry for the OT soapbox)

    11. Just to point out... any image he had to use in either his art book or his road to war book ... we don't really need to do anything anymore... his (former) publisher or w/e it was are holding him in breach of contract as he was to submit ONLY original works... THEY will be going over with a fine tooth comb any image he submitted. And they won't be being published for sure.

    12. Just recognized some Dungeons and Dragons art. Reported him to Wizards of the Coast. Which is owned by Hasbro....which also owns Pokemon (which he also stole images from).

    13. don't forget he has to 'claim' the art as originals for it to be stolen .... so be careful how you 'report' him... just having the art (changed or not, on his pages is not a crime... it's the claiming ownership in some form... I can take change and post anyone's pics the same way as long as I say that is what I did... took someone else's work and twiddled it.

    14. I'm reporting him as having taken copyright-protected images, running photoshop filters on them, and claiming them as his own art.

There is also a crap-ton of furry art in there, once you get down into the depths of the gallery. I passed it on to some furries I know who have contacts all over the fandom.

Not my first rodeo, Lady Tiku. My husband is a full time professional book cover artist, and I was mostly looking through the thousands of images to make sure this rat hadn't stolen anything of his.

    15. LOL ya I just saw your profile. You know the deal for sure... as for furries I'd have no clue... most of them look like half the stuffed toys I grew up with lol. Too bad you don't have something like those 'facial recognition' type programs to run your hubby's & his stuff through.
