1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Another Artist Using Doll Likenesses Without Crediting?

Mar 5, 2014

    1. I re-posted this to my dA, as well as the link to this thread. It's all I can do ... I'm not on facebook so I can't keep an eye on things there. If he's blocking people at dA and you need something screen-capped, drop me a note.

    2. Since he's blocking people I've gone ahead and sent a DMCA request to FB. I can still see the page for now now I imagine I'll be blocked soon too.
What really gets me is this grown ass man, who clearly knows what he's doing is wrong still has the gall to be angry with us for defending our work... the man has a damn nerve, I really hope every last thing he's stolen gets taken down.

    3. Please alert the owners, they're the only ones who can force the hosting site (are these on dA or FB?) to take down the images ...

    4. as long as you've not made yourself public to him (commented, friended, etc) you'll be fine.
He won't be notified that you've made a claim against him :)

    5. I want to report all his user and the fan page on facebook... ยฌยฌ

    6. Agreed, I can still see his page fine (in my short mental breaks on homework, I'm hunting down more owners of original images and sending messages to the original artists/photographers), but I also haven't interacted with him in any way at all.

Regarding the possible connection to Wizards of the Coast/Magic the Gathering from a couple of pages back, it looks like one of the images on his page is a doll done as or cosplaying as Chandra (there's a pretty obvious shoulder joint, and the styling is definitely that of the character); sadly, in that case, it doesn't seem to be an original image so Wizards might not be able to act. On the other hand, some of the art seems like it may have been ripped from cards, and that could be used against him if it can be found. (And on the third hand, there's definitely a Boris Vallejo in there.)

    7. I have access too in his fb profile and page, if I can do something let me know it, encouragement to the original artists!!

    8. I initially sent him a polite message asking him to take them down so he knows I'm onto him, ah well, I've done it now and I gave him fair warning so that's all I can really do at this stage.

    9. I wrote him too and can still see his page just fine.
However, if you ain't a friend of him and write him a direct message he won't see the message immediately.
It gets sorted into a folder that, as far as I know, does not give you the little red number on top that indicates you got a message. It's basically send to a Spam folder he has to look at manually to see that he got a message...so maybe it just needs more time till he blocks us too :I
I already took screenshots of all the pages that include my pictures, just in case.

    10. Heads up

His page links to an etsy, but it isn't set up yet.
I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to set up shop there if we shut him down elsewhere.

    11. The very idea that a person can be thick enough to honestly believe the community will just forget about him and let him get away with that is mind-boggling. But considering what he apparently already thought he could get away with I guess I wouldn't really put it past him o.O

      Boosting!

    12. I have alerted Julia Cross (Flickr) and Nu-Da-Tee (Deviantart - InamorAmento on Flickr). I gather someone has already recognised Illusionwaltz's dolls and messaged them...

I sent this guy a polite note on FB asking him to remove my photo. So far I haven't been blocked yet, but I'm thinking he's getting a LOT of messages now... Maybe he just can't keep up with the blocking :p.

    13. [IMG]

I love the title, "theivery: Matthew Christopher Nelson". I hope he enjoys having his name associated with his behavior.

      This. He should know better.

    14. Boyfriend just checked and confirmed that there is no Wizards art used. Nor Warhammer, nor anything else he could recognise.

      Did anyone contact Pepstar?

    15. Here is a composite of his so-called "intro page from the book" featuring Illusionwaltz's Eddie:

    16. @ strangeangels - Yeah, I tagged every image with his name and now they're online, so they should come up in searches :)

    17. Yep it's illusionwaltz's on Flickr

    18. I too recognized Julia Cross' Thranduil from The Hobbit (Roderick), and SDink's Claude. It's sad. I feel like bombarding FB with complaints.
