Any famous collectors of BJD's

I already managed 1 Mercedes Lackey character (Kellen) with at least 2 planned. Vestakia (incuding mods and dye) and Elena will be made eventually. (Kellen will get armour too )

I think I read somewhere that Anne Rice doesn't like people making dolls portraying her characters. It might just have been fanfic, but I wouldn't put my dolls out there for her to scoff at. She's more religious minded now and probably wouldn't approve.

 

Aw, I have one too. They're just adorable. (then again, I love fennecs. I have a tattoo of one.)

I wish Yuan was more the dress-wearing type of fox, but she's a tomboy at heart. I always have so much trouble with getting her to stand, though. Must be the huge head.

That's a bit of a shame, but I can understand why. I've been working on a few story ideas with my boyfriend for years (we're long distance and both in school, so we haven't nailed down the time to actually write any yet) and I'm afraid I'm slightly possessive of our characters right now. Having fanfic written of them would just be weird. (though I think I'd be okay with dolls and art, I can't really say as I haven't had time to actually take these plans anywhere, and I'd actually have to get fans first Sometimes after working so hard and getting so attached to characters, you can't imagine someone else pulling the strings, when they don't know how those strings work. )

Ruth Thompson, no. Amy Brown had some. Nene Thomas had at least three (CP Yder, CP Soo, Volks Cyndy 2) but has given some away (one to me, heheh), so she might not have them any more. Though Nene did put a doll in one of her paintings... (It's a Dark Elf Soo.)

Fantasy and anthro artist Heather Bruton, dunno if you'd know her, has one (a CP Elf Yder; she's occasionally on DoA). Kiriko Moth is a fantasy artist who was on DoA... 'haven't seen her recently, but still may be around. And I'm a fantasy/game artist, but so fractionally un-famous that you'd have to be a rabid Legend of the Five Rings CCG player to have heard of me.

... So cool to know that Mercedes Lackey is a BJD owner and on the forum! So love the Vanyel books... *sigh*

 

Hi April I've heard of you..I've even looked at your originals in shows.
I guess I like the fact we can be silly and just enjoy our dolls here..and I'd bet a "celebrity" would sometimes enjoy just being NekoThingy and chatting about stuff other than their work.

 

I asked Jonathan Ross if he had any BJD's and he said no, tho he may get one when in Japan next... so nah he hasnt, he does have loads of toys/collectables tho.

 

Just the other night I had a rather strange dream. I was in a band and we were apparantly touring with My Chemical Romance. I didn't know who they belonged to, most likely Gerard, but there were a lot of BJDs on the bus. There was Helena, the girl from the I Don't Love You video, and everyone from the Black Parade. All BJDs. I didn't recognize any specific sculpts but I did decide that as soon as I can figure out Twitter I'm telling Mikey about them.

 

Ruth Thompson however did like Mike, April. But I haven't been able to see her in a long time. So I wasn't sure if she had gotten into them since then. But that makes you famous! ^^

Although I am totally amused at Edward Furlong's photo with dolls, is he flipping the bird on purpose? XD And Patricia Quinn?! Yay~ I do so much cosplay at Rocky Horror showings as Magenta, that is entirely made of awesome.

Nope, I'm 99.9% sure that Max doesn't collect bjds (not sure about the other person though, out of my interest >_<).
What you've heard/read can very likely be a rumor. If he really is, his fans who collect bjds would be all over this.. (and because they(DBSK) hardly have any privacy, most of us fans should know by now, but we don't)
Although I have heard somewhere that a fan was trying to give one of the members a bjd who was made to look like him (I don't remember which member it was), but this could also be a rumor
And even if it isn't a rumor, I don't think it makes him a collector because he didn't voluntarily buy the doll himself... He just accepted a gift from a fan

 

For anyone who watched last season of America's Next Top Model, once Allison Harvard found out that there was a an order organized to make a minimee of her, she joined DoA---and I believe she's actually going to get one of the heads! *Allison fangirl* So I hope she'll take a real interest in BJDs, that would be so cool---seriously, Allison = the most creepily adorable, gore-obsessed model EVER! xDDD [And I wish she'd have won! ><]

 

Goodness! I see you around on here so often... that when I found out I actually kind of went 'NO WAY!' out loud and got the attention of my inlaws, who love your books. ^_^ One of our cats is named Tarma and the other Leslac. They all crowded around the laptop to see your dollies.

Cristina Vee (voice actress to Kanaria in Rozen Maiden: Träumend, Nanoha in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and Louise in Familiar of Zero) owns a DZ Shoyo.
(And has been lusting after a Soom Rex for who knows how long)
