Out of curiosity what exactly is this doll and figure event on 9/18 and where is it being held in Tokyo?

Hello, I have a rather stupid question to ask, but I can't seem to find the answer in any other threads so... are these new Unoas Milk and Mocha replacing the traditional look of Unoa 1.0 and 1.5? Has Araki "retired" the older look, or will he be offering these along with the new models in the next presale?

Araki is certainly not discontinuing the original Unoa Quluts. I spoke with Araki briefly and I asked him about the next preorder but he didn't really want to talk about it. He said that he really doesn't know when the next preorder is, he doesn't want to set a date and then have to change it and disappoint anyone. The vibe I got from Araki is that he really dislikes preorders and anything to do with selling his dolls over the internet. He really doesn't like doing it.

There is no trouble actually making the dolls, it is the selling process, he said it's troublesome and he'd much rather sell his dolls in person at small doll shows and conventions. This doesn't mean there wont be a preorder, just it may take a while until Araki feels like having another one. It could be this winter, it could be next Spring. He doesn't know what dolls he'd even want to release next preorder, so I can't give out any information in regards to that subject.

 

Thank you for answering my question Usami! This gives me the hope that I might someday be able to afford an Unoa of my own. I really hate that he dislikes selling his bjds online though. If I was wealthy I could buy them second hand but I really can't do that so, I guess I'll have to wait til he feels up to another preorder.

 

Does Araki-san realize how much money he's -losing- with his reluctance to make his dolls more available? It seems like piracy to me the way people buy dolls from him and then sell them for TWICE as much on YJA! Er, but that's probably been broguht up many times before...

 

^_^ I don't mind bidding I only dislike sellers who buy the doll with intention to sell it reall high and not for the love of the doll.
And when I mean high I don't mean a high buy out price cause that's the buyers choice but you also have sellers that do a ridiculous startingbid like 1250$ hopeing the doll would go for 1500 or 1600$ well that is at least what happened when the first batch was released.

I bought 2 mocha in the past 2 weeks I payed 1 for my feeling too much and 1 for a decent price. I do think a seller is allowed to recoupe at least 70 to a 100% above the original price for an item that's hard to get!
I think that is normal cause iff that wasn't the case I'de never get a Mocha..and then there is a factor that a lot of people forget Japan is very big and for some dollfans a trip to Tokyo can cost a fortune!!!
So you will also have sellers that buy 2 dolls 1 for themselves and 1 to recoupe the travellingcost.

I do not see what's wrong about that! I also think that a dollfan should consider her own finacial barriers and practise patience!
Do not make comparisons with other doll quality or price go for the doll you want and save for it.

And do not think about what other people might think about you or the price you're willing to pay for the doll cause reall dollfans really don't care.
(although it's not that we wanna pay more than 1k but whatcha gonna do =_=).

It's only a lot of people who just have started the hobby who are overwhelmed by so many beuatifull dolls and the fact that some of them haven't seen a BJD in person. This stimulates the I want all the pretty dolls but I can't spend more than than this or that.

Look at me when I started this hobby I was a kid that discovered a new toy..I wanted everything..now 4 years later I realize that there's always a doll out there that you'll like..but that doesn't mean you really really want it..you just respect the quality and learn to enjoy other people their dolls from the pictures they post.

Even still I can get impatience but I am trying to work on that ^_^..I luv many BJD available but I remember having more than 4 dolls at once..it's not really that much fun iff you can't spend time with all of them there's always 1 more popular. I do not consider myself a Dollcollector but it is my hobby...and araki's work has always been my favorite..I luv the Unoa's I really do but ever since I've started this hobby I have been waiting for a BJD with a fashiondoll figure. And I've always suspected Araki-sama to do something like this cause a lot of his figures have the round shapes and he does the beautifull legs!!
How could I resist those legs right?

But now I'm ending my blah blah speech.....=_=...i probally telling things everbody already knows!

Of course it costs fees but easier to sell,no??

I just recently acquired an unoa mocha! And i have a few questions. How does her faceplate come off? i looked at the instructions but i was a little confused by them and a little afraid of her exploding in a million pieces in my hands. XD (my sist wasnt as complicated...or so it looks.)

Also im not crazy about the eyes. I have a pair of 8mm green acrylic eyes i bought at an elfdoll meet. they have stems though. im not sure if i can remove the stems or not. But i was also thinking of the squishy eyeco eyes because they have very vibrant colors, and may look extremely lovely in her face. (im not even sure if my girl has the eye mech or not...it doesnt seem like it because i dont have anything to push to make her eyes move.)

But yeah. help me out!
