anyone have BJD related tattoos?

Feb 12, 2007

    1. I don't have one yet, but I was planning on getting one.
I design all of my tattoos, and it takes forever for me to be happy with my designs, so it'll be awhile!

    2. I do intend to get at least one tattoo in my life. If I get one that was BJD related that I didn't mind being visible, I think I'd want ball joints on my wrists. Nina's elbows came out really nice.

    3. I'm not sure if it really counts, but I have a tattoo of my character Lude, that I also have as doll. :)

And the boy himself: (not the best picture XD)

I am considering getting an even more bjd-related tattoo, but I am waiting for the perfect idea to pop into my head. ^^

EDIT: Looking at the tat vs the doll, I see I should get him as an Akando or something. XD

    4. I have quite a lot of tattoos and i've definately considered getting something BJD related although I'm not entirely sure what. I'm planning a rather large piece anyway with allsorts or lolipops, starsm, rainbows, ice creams etc so i definately think a BJD would have to fit in there somewhere hehe..

As for Mistress Legato and her intellectual comments oh the lolz! Of course it isn't theft of intellectual property to have a tattoo on you based on someone elses artwork! It would only be if you were making money on it- ie: selling the design to a tattoo studeio as flash. All she has done is have the image tattooed on her and that is perfectly fine. Gosh- if that was the law then about 80% of Britain with tattoos would be able to get sued! silly

    5. Absynthe, what you said.
I also have a lot of work, I really want a BJD piece, just trying to work out what it will be. I was thinking of doing my Grail girl, Sweet Dreams Nana as the Virgin of Guadalupe. Being totally respectful of course.

    6. oh this would be pretty cool, as a temperary tattoo.
the usual tattoo sounds a bit painful and too permenate for me. It would be nice to try drawing joints though! I'm going to try out this henna thing, and it'll be bjd joints on the fingers ^_^ sometimes soon I think. It'd be great : ))

    7. While I don't have one. I think that a series of "fake" or temporary tats with bjd themes would be awesome.
      Another project perhaps?

    8. A BJD tatoo sounds awsome! I have two other tattoo ideas, i might have to add a third, though i don't know where i'd put it! XD Have to be somewhere easily hidden. If i get one, i'd wait till i've gotten myself in shape a bit, and then i might get a tatoo of my first BJD

    9. A tattoo of a doll sounds a bit too much to me. My brother is a tattoo artist though.

    10. Wow, what an interesting idea! (And some interesting tattoos, too!) This has really got me wanting to draw some 'generic BJD' stuff for some reason...

Personally I only have one tattoo, which I received for my 18th birthday. That would be about a year before I bought Sanyu, so I wasn't into the hobby at that time. Needless to say, it's not a dolly tattoo.

Interesting idea, vaguely tempting... but I already have all my money spent for the next like... hundred years or so buying dolls and a sewing machine... so... yeah... ^_^() No dolly tat for me. Yet...

    11. That's a great thread!

I've been thinking about getting a Doll-Tattoo since I saw a tattoo of the "doll" used in TOOL's "Prison Sex" Music Video (pic here) in a magazine some... 7 years ago... and the idea always kind of stuck with me... ^_^ Unfortunately, I couldn't track down the picture of the tattoo itself... >.<
And you guys are giving me some pretty badass new ideas, too.

I especially love your Tattoo, Nina! (yay, and you've got the same name as me, too... yaaaay)

    12. cool thread, I have 8 tattoo's and I love BJD's but I don't think I'd get a tattoo of one, then again If I think about it too much I might go ahead and do it, I really would have to find the "perfect" image though or design it myself, as it has got to be on my body forever.

Loving all the tat's so far though!

    13. I'm debating about it but!

I'm getting Blake's name written in braille on my left wrist. (He's blind and can read braille so I thought it would be fitting. ^^)
Small enough to hide with a bracelet and maybe not be painful since they are dots.
Don't know my pain threshold yet. xD

I'll be 18 and I'll be waiting even longer while I decide. Plus, pick a tattoo artist. ;3

    14. I have planned for a while to hav a dreamy-looking Ariel as my first tattoo. Ariel has always been part of my life. I have never stopped loving her for almost 20 years.
I love the water and swimming. I love singing and music. I've always been a dreamer. It's the last movie I saw in theaters with my grandmother before she passed away. I'm a fancier of redheads. I could go on and on.
Anyway...I could never find or design an image I found worthy of being tattooed. Then the idea struck me, and this morning, I sketched out a perfect design: a BJD Ariel, complete with jointed fishtails. Dreamy-looking with her hand gently outstretched, holding a star.
Ariel also is supposedly connected with Mother Mary, and so, the Pagan "Mother", and I may incorporate the triple moon design hidden in her tail or the like.
I will hopefully get my design made to look more beautiful and professional soon, and inked shortly thereafter.

    15. I would love to get my doll a tattoo that matches my own :)

    16. I don't know if I could go that far...it seems like it's kind of difficult to translate ball-joints to skin; the tattoos look good, but a bit disproportionate. No offense to Nina Raven, but the roundness makes them look like eyes to me....

I'd probably go the route of getting a tattoo of a BJD; probably something along the lines of Rozen Maiden :)

    17. owch, that has to have hurt inside the elbows:doh

    18. well, things could be worse than your tatt, but your right if you don't like it don't look. at least you have a reason for it...;) but did it hurt, it looked like it would have taken a while to do...

    19. By body modifications, I mean mods by humans. Have you seen tattoos or piercings that reflect from dolls, or are inspired by them? A friend said that tattoos of doll joints (like, your elbow, knees and torso) Would look really unique. I think they would look impressive!
      What do you think?

    20. I know there are threads here somewhere addressing this, with pix of joint tattoos or mentions of plans for them. You'd have to search hard, though, as I don't remember seeing any after early 2008--
