anyone have BJD related tattoos?

Feb 12, 2007

    1. Lol, that's my problem. I love abjds and I love the way tattoos look, but I also have a big needle phobia--just getting blood drawn is a traumatic event. I'm not sure I could handle tattooing (though with tattoos at least you get something cool out of it...unlike getting blood drawn where you just get a bruise : P )

    2. I would be lying if I wasn't worride about how'd they turn out myself but I have to say I'm please. I'm really glad people like them as well. I felt more stupid then brave I wanted it so bad but it hurt. I guess stuborness isn't always bad.

S hook idea sounds really cool. Or a doll portrait I think portraits look really cool. I understand parent stuff. I made myself wait untill I was 18. So I was deffently sure but that was my first. I'm at Uni but my dad actually does alot to help me out more emotionally then anything else. Though he never understands tattoo's or peircings. But we talk about it and deal with it. It just takes time. I have friends who are like 40 and there parents still don't approve. *_*

    3. I'm getting a doll tattood hopefully next month, to symbolize my fight against my stupid rheumatism.
(Dolls have joints, my joints hurt like crap, etc c: )

*realizes she already posted about this* =_=

    4. lol my younger sister also has two that she has to hide from our dad. its annoying because she always forgets and i only remember to remind her when i see it. :o scary moments.

im also considering a nude doll tattoo. (sorta nude anyways. covered, but nude) i dont have my dolls yet so im not going to get it until im absolutely sure i LOVE my dolls. but i've been writing about a character (for a doll) named tuesday and when i looked at pictures people have drawn of their dolls i decided i loved the drawing that showed the dolls joints. i think its sorta creepy (in a good way. i may only be seeing creepy because i want to. i love creepy tattoo's!) and i think tuesday would make the perfect creepy tattoo

    5. I don't think I would get a BJD tattoo as I can't imagine a simple and flowing enough design using a BJD (I would only like tattoos I think will last.. and that big Volks label style one is just an eyesore for me...)

But I have thought of copying my own tattoo onto one of my dolls. I guess a lot of people do this ^^

Oh and don't let a fear of needles put you off. The needles are tiny and it doesn't feel anything like an injection. I found it feels like a knife slicing or if you've ever accidentally cut yourself with one of those serrated vegetable peelers. Not a needle pain. Needle go right in, these just go in the skin. But it does hurt, yes.

    6. wow! nina raven and all of you who have posted pic loving the tattoo's! my mum has imposed a no tattoos until your 18 and can take your self! so i hope to be getting mine in say 4 months lol! i never thought of getting a BJD tat until i read this thread! the tattoo i am getting is one that my shiwoo when he arrives will get so thats realated right? and my second one iwll be one my apollo will get (again when he gets here) maybe i could get there names..... i would get the company logo but i dont think i want bobobies logo on me lol! x x x

    7. I would have to agree with you there with needles. I see them more as scrapers then anything else. Because I have a phobia of normal needles.

    8. Actually it depends on where you get them LOL. to me Initially it feelt like a mild burn then gets sharp and edgy and after about 10 minutes the whole area went numb and then back to the mild burn feeling again.... my first was on my tail-bone y'know the base of my spine and then my second 2 flank my first which are my name-sake a pair of White-Wings. And as I said earlier my Lusis (now-rehomed) had a matching tattoo...

Though I reckon the Elf-Doll logo is gorgeous and would make a nice tattoo for anyone who would commit to a permanent doll pic on them.... But NO-WAY *loud* to the Volks logo... right up there with the ol' Metallica tats you see from the 80's LMAO *snort*

    9. The small of your back though is spose to be a really sore bit too. Thats where I had my first. I got a gothic heart because I had just had surgery there. So maybe it hurt more because alot of it was on scar tissue. But I do agree some places don't hurt half as much.

I think it's down to personal pain tolerance too.

    10. I would be tempted to get ball joints done on my ankles or something, and I usually have been dead set against the things for most my life... but still... ankles aren't so noticeable. <3

    11. Oooh~ ^^; I've always loveed the idea of getting a bjd themed tattoo. I could never figure out exatly WHAT I'd get, but I'm definitely into the idea of getting one.
(and here's to celebrating getting my 2nd tattoo today~ the word Toast on my left arm)

    12. I've never even heard of the idea actually * - *
I wonder what one would turn out like.

    13. I don't know about that I think mine ended up pretty sweet. It depends if you get someone who does custom stuff all the time. I think this was the first time the tattooest had ever designed or did anything like this based on ABJD's and I love it. I don't have to explain what they are people already can tell o.O And when I close my arms the joint closes.

I've seen painted ones before and they seemed to smudge...

    14. :o

Nina Raven: That is really something. I admire your pain threshold. That looks painful.

Personally I won't get anything permanent not even about the hobbies I adore. Just not my thing.

    15. Thats fair enough. I guess its something I'm going to give to my main character who isn't a doll. But she's pretty much my life. Then again I am a strange one ^_^ I have a friend who feels the same she dosen't do much permanent stuff because she always changes her mind.

It was very painful but totally worth it. Even though I've had it a while it hasn't sunk in as to how permanent it is. But it's one of those things the more I look at them the more I like them.

    16. Wow, what an awesome thread! I hope more people post tat pictures, I have 2 tats myself but they're not related to BJDs.

    17. You know this was really cool for me to see and read, but I remember back in 1998 Missy Elliot and 702 released a music video that had backup dancers that were made to look like jointed dolls.

    18. Woah. These are incredible, especially the 'SD' tag on the back of the neck and the ball joints. I don't think I have the same passion in my life for BJDs required to get tattoos like these, but I love to see them. They're beautiful!!

    19. Thats pretty cool do you know what the song was called? *wants to youtube it* Thats like a year before I was born XD OMG no it wasn't that would make me ten sorry dyslexia kicking in I'll leave it up so people can have a good lol. XD

    20. The song is called Beep me 911, and it features Magoo and 702 as well . Missy has the girls made to look like dolls and they are set in a doll house type thing... it's cute. It's a hip hop video .

here it is just in case you can't find it though ~~
