1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Arcadia Dolls - Wait Times?

Jun 4, 2010

    1. Anya's Mom - Thank you for adding your information. Like everyone here, I wish you were not also negatively impacted. I've recorded your order and will include it in the Wiki Wait List we are compiling. Stay tuned ... There is more infornation coning ...

    2. crybabymommie - They seem to be having great difficulty communicating effectively with their customers. I think I have some ideas that should improve communication ...

    3. Here is a website for you: http://web.me.com/deercott/Acadia_Dolls_Contract/Breach_of_Contract,_The_Introduction.html

There is contact information as well as disclosure of facts that may be of interest to you.

Make sure you read all the pages. You can click on each one by seeing the top margin titles. They are in order.

I tried to be complete and discuss all facets of our problem.

      I hope this helps!

Please excuse any typos. I am famous for them.

I'm still working on the Wiki list. The computer and I are sick of looking at each other tonight. (grin)

LMK if you have any comments, suggestions or questions. Thanks!

    4. rowan, oh. my. god. This is seriously, seriously not cool at all x_x Thank you for all your hard work! I will now go write them, because since the date they promised to ship my order passed two whole weeks.... And I cant even demand a refund, because I live in Russia, and we cant receive money with paypal, we can only pay. My only hope is that they will ship my order =\

    5. karmade - Just write them. Use every address. Continue to write if you don't get a response right away. You have options to report this if you desire but probably you would simply like your order to be completed - pronto! This is a very serious problem and I am hoping that once Arcadia realizes the serious implications, they will make delivery promises that they keep - right down to the minute. If it comes down to a refund then perhaps one of us - that you trust - could "bank" your refund until you find something else you'd like to buy. Don't worry. For every problem, there is a solution. Right now, we all need to impress on the Porrua/Rodrigo group that they must produce the items now or issue a refund else there are other irregularities that will need to be explored. All of us are hoping we can simply receive what we purchased, have a fair refund of any extra postage charges and walk away.

I will not drop the website until I am assured every single customer has received their order or their money.

As for the website, all pages are listed, in order, at the top of each page in white block print. The link will put you on the first page. All of the links and emails are "live." If anyone hits a bad link or finds a bad email address, please let me know. The links work with my browser (Safari) but I cannot be sure about other browsers.

Here is the link again: http://web.me.com/deercott/Acadia_Dolls_Contract/Breach_of_Contract,_The_Introduction.html

Don't worry. Just write until you receive the right answer.

    6. I just e-mailed them again, since it has been a few weeks since I last emailed them and have not gotten any update or shipping noticfication. >< Here's what I wrote:

I really do hope this works. :(

    7. Wow, thank you for putting this website up, rowan. I admit, I really am angry now after reading everything, this is just wrong of them. :x I hope that we can come to a resolution and everyone gets thier items or a refund. =/

    8. Anya'sMom - I'm glad you wrote them. You do what you feel comfortable doing but I would gently suggest that you write to all of the addresses I listed for the three "players" - you can do it all in one email heading (just separate the addresses with a comma) and continue to write until you get an answer. I also listed a contact phone number in NC. If you are willing, I think you should set a firm date for receiving your order. It might help your correspondence along. Certainly, you will be nice but you can also be very firm. You are in your legal right to demand receipt of your paid-in-full order or a full refund. They are currently in breach of their contract with you.

I, too, am hopeful that this comes to resolution with good outcome for everyone.

    9. I mailed them yesterday asking about my order and they answered quite soon, saying that my order is not shipped yet because one outfit from my order is not yet finished.... because they run out of fabric for it.... and they dont know when they'll get more of it.... but once they do, they promise to finish this outfit in 3-4 days o_o. Right. But oh well, today they shipped all the other items I ordered aside of this outfit, so that's quite a move!

Oh, and they gave me giggles finishing their littter with
      riiiight... *rolling eyes*

    10. You can put me on that list too, rowan. I ordered a standard size outfit and a pair of yo-sd socks June 25 and I'm still waiting. Haven't tried to contact them though...

    11. I am sorry to hear you're waiting too but I am so glad you wrote about the delay. I'll put you on the list!

You've been very patient but I think it is probably time to start writing them to get a definite delivery date. You're at 96 days or almost 14 weeks. I've listed multiple phone numbers (although this could get expensive), email addresses and snail-mail addresses. Write and keep writing until you get an answer. If the date passes without delivery, I suggest you look at some of the other "logical consequences" contacts I've listed. I'm hoping for your success!

    12. Thank you for the advice, rowan. I think I will try this either tonight or tomorrow since I still have not gotten a reply. :vein

    13. Right is a good expression for this! I can't believe they threatened you, Karmade. This is really the height of silliness. Everyone here on DOA knows perfectly well the "list" is formed from the posts on this thread and PMs. How dare a non-member tell us to use "extreme caution" in dealing with each other - especially when the person who is causing us to come together in the first place - and on this thread - IS the problem. Good grief!

Well, I guess it takes all sorts of people to make up our world ... (sigh)

      I'm giggling with you.

I am so glad they have given you a firm date for delivery and it is on its way. Do you have a tracking number? I don't understand these excuses about being "out of fabric" since their website would mark out fabrics that were no longer available. If they are out, then they need to refund money for orders that they lack material to fill.

Each of us needs to call, write and continue to ask for fulfillment of our orders. i've given you contact information for further actions you can take if you don't receive full satisfaction. Remember, you have a business contract with these people. Especially when it comes to International Commerce, there are many agencies who specialize in seeing that the rules are followed. when it comes to Internet Commerce, there are even more agencies who have a vested interest in fair trade. Fair trade, when it comes to potential consumer fraud, is protected.

We speak of business here and good and legal outcome. Let the talk of emotions, domestic violence, adultery, tax fraud, abandoned children, personal circumstances and other worldly tragedy stay where they properly belong ... behind closed doors. We only wish for our business contracts to be completed as legally required. Right?

I will be happy when every single one of us has received our order and/or refund and this business with Arcadia Dolls is properly closed. Until then, I am so glad we have a place to record progress!

    14. Anya'sMom - I listed a couple more phone numbers in part II of the webpage. I think, with persistence, you will find a way to reach them to communicate your need to have your order fulfilled!

I continue to hope for good outcomes for each of us.

    15. rowan, yep, I've got a tracking number =) Regarding the fabric, I found it strange, too, but considering that they shipped all my other ordered items, I will give them time. Who knows, they might have really run out of it... I'll be back with update once part of my order will arrive, or if anything else happens.

    16. I worry that getting legal authorities after them will just cause them to shut down and run off, so that no one gets anything, refunds or items...

I've seen this happen before. Just saying. It's possible to just run off--and do it legally (it's called bankruptcy) and no one will see anything. I know people want money back and/or their items. And people should be getting after them for not communicating and for not giving refunds, etc. But if they actually seem like they are going to try and fulfill orders, that might be better than having them close up shop and leave everyone high and dry.

I think it's good that they are no longer accepting more orders, so no one new will be in trouble with them, at least.

I will only be pissed if I don't get my items...

    17. Rowan: You've listed my personal info on your website: my full name, my home address and my personal phone number. I'm the Arcadia Dolls' webmaster so that's why the website is linked to my personal information.

As I tried to explain so many times before, I've acted as a photographer and webmaster for my sister. I also acted as translator because of her poor English. But I've never been involved in the Arcadia Dolls' production. Arcadia Dolls is a single person business, so I can't understand why are you involving me or my sister's fiancée.

As far as I know, all your orders have already been finished and sent, including an important gift to compensate for the long waiting. So I can't understand why have you started this crusade to damage our reputation. I understand the anger of a long waiting, but anyway that's not my fault, so why am I also being attacked?

I just ask you politely to remove my personal information from your website, because that won't help anyone.

    18. April - I am totally with you. I think that it is very important that each person write until they receive a satisfactory answer. The authorities are there - and available - if any one of us is not satisfied. The only satisfactory answer is the receipt of our merchandise. Until that happens, there is still a problem. I'm waiting too. Until the things I ordered are in my hands my order is not fulfilled. And until I am refunded excess postage charges after paying for shipping from Spain but instead receiving packages locally shipped in the US, my business contract with Arcadia Dolls is flawed.

My concern has always been for all of us - each of us who have ordered and the potential legal mess that Enrique, Concha and Mercedes have created for themselves. My hope is that everyone, Arcadia Dolls included, either gives or gets that which is due them and we all walk away wiser but satisfied.

    19. Rowan, I'm not legally bound to Arcadia Dolls at all, and I've never been. I made all my work for free, just to help a relative with my photography and web design skills. I'm not registered as an employee, member or partner for Arcadia Dolls. So exposing my personal info in your website won't help anyone, and it's really bothering me.

I acted as a spokesperson for Arcadia Dolls in this forum, and I really regret it now because I'm being involved in this situation, and I really feel I don't deserve it.

As a doll collector, I understand customer's complains about delays, but I think this situation is getting unreasonable.

I would like my sister to register the forum and speak for herself, but I'm not her and I can't make decisions instead of her. I'm just asking you, Rowan, to please remove my personal information from your website because that's hurting me.

    20. rowan, I have to confess that I'm not sure how knowing what the outside of Licanen's boyfriend's house looks like, or his professional qualifications, or Cassandra's phone number, will help customers get their orders faster. The only person who can fix this is Licanen, and I just don't think that antagonising her boyfriend or her sister will help fix things, however frustrating and poor Arcadia's business practices are (the answer to which, of course, is: very).

My suggestion would be that you remove these personal details and give your email address on your site, telling people that if they are customers, they can contact you and you will supply them with Licanen's US address if they require it. Or, that they can look up the registered address of Arcadia Dolls themselves, using WhoIs, if they want Spanish details for the company. (Cassandra, I suggest that you turn the website registration over to your sister, if you don't want your details easily available online).
