Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     1. I have a slight mix, but I tend to stick to the same 3 companies quite consistently.

      X2 I have 2 dolls.. they're basically dollzone haha.
      Soom I have 1, but one on the way.
      Fairyland I have 5.

      I won't be getting any more X2 since they don't exist anymore. It's rare that I like a sculpt from dollzone that's an MSD, but we'll see.
      I consistently check up on Fairyland and Soom though.
      I've considered others in the past; Souji Okita for Volks, Vito from Iplehouse.. and I'm still debating over Musedoll Re-Che, but we'll see.
      I have dolls from more than one company but yeh, for the most part, I'm pretty consistant.

    3. Currently I have a mix. One from Luts, one from Iplehouse.

      My wish list has a mix as well. Although 3 of the dolls listed are Iplehouse dolls, I would like a SOOM one day, a DollnDoll (since they make Serendipity dolls), Dollmore, Souldoll, Peakswood, Pipos, Bobobie, Dream of Doll, and a Volks full choice.

      Of course this is all based on what sculpts I really liked at the time I made the list. It can always change, especially with all the new dolls coming out yearly now.

Nope, and I knew they wouldn't be from the same place for very long either, there are too many dolls I like from everywhere and my characters wouldn't be very diverse or unique if I didn't have a little of everything I like. As far as what I have now and what I'm getting within the next year or so...

      I have 1 AOD, 2 DOCs, 1 CP, 1 MD. I'm planning on/working on getting: a Minifee Karsh (FL), an Abadon (Luts) and a Puki Ruby (FL). In my wishlist there's a rediculous amount of dolls from a bunch of companies as well. And don't even mention my extended wishlist... o_0 But yea, I'd say my dolls are starting to get pretty diverse alothough there are some companies I really love as well.

    5. Yep.

      I didn't mean for them to be that way, but they all are from Volks; I dunno, I'm one of those types who likes certain aesthetics and wants all her dolls to look similar in that respect. :) I gotta say though, those of you who own dolls from a company that uses magnetic headcaps, I envy you! XD I've seen them on other dolls, and those are just too cool.

      And even though I own all Volks' sculpts, I definitely don't think that they're the one true anything. ^^; Each company has pros and cons, and one of the major cons of Volks, as I mentioned above, are the non-magnetic headcaps. That aside, it's awesome to see mixed families! Mine's kind of... homogeneous. :)

    6. I've only got one doll, a Luts Kid Delf, but for me, all my dolls are planned to be Luts dolls. I just love their molds, and their facial expressions. ^_^ For sure Alistair will be a CP El, but Killian is still up in the air, though I'm leaning towards the Muroo mold. :)

      Also, like Pristine Crimson, I want all my dolls to look similar when posed together. I've seen some pictures of dolls from different companies that were just too wierd to look at together (i.e., one had a really round face, the other a tiny little head in comparison, one looked too young, the other too old, etc.) and I want to make sure my dolls will look good against each other.

    7. Since 2005 Volks began to slowly incorporate magnetic headcaps into their limiteds. As of 2009, all standard Volks dolls have magnetic head caps. I like the old mechanics-rubber bands and such in older dolls. My friend has a gorgeous old Angel Region mini sized doll in which the elastic connects straight to the head cap. I adore her.

      My entire collection comes from Volks. I didn't plan it that way-it just happened. I guess I'm drawn to a certain aesthetic.

    9. Whoa! This is news to me. :) I guess that shows how many "old type" dolls I have. I think the most "recent" doll I have was produced in 2004 (Isao Nanjou v.2); the rest are before that.

      I think you hit the nail right on the head. Some doll companies look good next to each other, and some don't. For example, I was considering adding a Hound to the family, but when I saw in person how lanky Hounds are, I knew he wouldn't fit in with my chunky boys. XD

    10. Aside from my two twins, every doll I have is from a different company.
      Felixdoll (x2), Soom, IpleHouse, Oceanmoon, DollZone.
      You can see it in the wishlist on my profile. I like all kinds of dolls from all kinds of companies. xD

    11. There's a very nice mix of companies between my guys, and my planned guys. If I see a doll I want, I get it. I dont bother to play the whole 'Yeah well, thats Dollzone and I only buy CP blah blah blah bullshit game.' I have noticed though that I tend to go for the not-very-realistic looking sculpts, so dolls like DIM's minimees are unlikely to make it onto my shelf.

      Since my dolls are all based on my own characters that are different species and from different 'walks of life' I like the obvious unsimilarity that comes from buying from a mix of companies.

      Having said that of course, I seem to have quite a few Luts at the moment. Thats just the way it's ended up, and should soon be changed with the arrival of a Ninodoll and a Volks ^_^.

    12. I have a mix but I like pairs. So I have 2 AEs and am planning 2 FLs and a second RS and DOC. And they'll all be couples because they wouldn't look right to me or at least my brain wouldn't accept it, if I tried to make couples across brands. (OT - wow this sentence totally wouldn't make sense to anyone but a BJDer)

    14. I've had dolls from Iplehouse, Soom, DollFactory, NarinDoll, Unoa, and Fairyland...

      ...but other than the one Unoa, ALL of my dolls are now Fairyland. It's a personal preference, and I adore their work, their posing, their style, the resin... I just feel they're in many ways superior.

      Does that mean I'll only ever consider Fairyland dolls in the future? Nope. I was insanely tempted by a Soom last month, but couldn't scrape the funds together in time to get it. Maybe one day I'll catch it on the Marketplace!

Variety is the spice of life and I like way too many dolls from different companies - I have BJD's from Elfdoll, Fairyland, Souldoll, Narae', and a few others - not to mention the ones that aren't allowed here. I spent years and years with blinders on collecting only one type of doll - now those blinders are off and I'm loving it!

    16. At the moment yes. I have a Volks yosd and an SD13 on the way, but I am not opposed to owning dolls from a different company. I just happened to really like those particular dolls.

    17. All of my bjds are Volks and Fairyland, all of the dolls on my immediate wishlist are Volks and Fairyland as well. I didn't necessarily intend for it to be that way (then again I didn't intend to own more than one) but I just happen to be more attracted to their aesthetics the most.

    18. So far I have two dolls, one floating head, and a new doll on the way.
      My dolls are a Resinsoul Mei, a Fairyland puki pukisha, who shares a body with a fairyland puki puki Sugar. The incoming doll is Sooms December MD, Afi. So that's three and a half dolls from three different companies :lol:
      I do love the Resinsoul dolls a lot and am thinking of getting another one someday, same goes for fairyland really :)
      I don't mind having multiple dolls from one company or from several different companies.
      For me it's about the doll, as long as I love the doll it doesn't really matter what company they're from and such, it doesn't even matter much to me if they have certain quirks or somesuch, I'll either learn of a way to fix it or I'll learn to work with it :)

    19. I seem to have taken a liking to Luts/CP. I do plan to buy from other companies but at the moment my two big guys are CP.

      I do have my little soom lurking between them though!!!
