1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Are all your dolls from one company?

Sep 21, 2009

    1. I have a crazy-nice mix of Dollshe, Soom, Pipos, Glorydoll... And Twigling's Ylisande, and Unoa; and Resinsoul's Mei is planned already)) But Soom is my favorite company for more than two years :aheartbea

    2. I have a Fairyland doll (did I spell that right?)...
but I don't remember what company makes Ju :sweat

    3. I only got dolls from Dollmore :)

      I love their sculpts!

    4. Not much. Besides Iple and Dollshe, I rarely like many of the sculpts a single company makes. I'm too much of a realism hunter ~~;

    5. I'm trying to keep my collection entirely Volks :) It means my collection is small because I can't afford a lot of their dolls!

I have had dolls from Souldoll, Fairyland, Bobobie, Soom, Luts and Camellia Dynasty and I above and beyond prefer Volks. I wouldn't consider adding a non-Volks doll to my collection unless the quality was the same or superior to my existing Volks dolls and if the doll stylistically matched with my existing dolls. I've found I'm happier with a smaller collection of dolls than a large one, so I don't think of it as limiting myself, more like I'm enabling myself to stick to a size of doll family I'm comfortable with. I've had 10+ dolls before and found them far too difficult to play with or organise and it was quite stressful for me.

    6. I like bobobie's hooved dolls and got both they offer, but I love how pose-able my obitsu is, and how cute my march sculpt (also from bobobie) is. If I buy more dolls, it will most likely be from bobobie (since I really like their tinies) or obitsu.

    7. Yeah at this very moment all my dolls are from B&G I really find very easy to buy for being my first doll and the price help me a lot^^ And then looking for a partner for her the best choice for me was one of the same company. Now I´m saving for a new twins doll, but they will be from diferent companies .

    8. Volks is my absolute favorite, so all my dolls are from them. :) Dolls from other companies just don't appeal to me aesthetically. I also agree with Jessica's comment, that sticking to one company helps to keep my doll collection size more manageable as well as ensures that they all 'fit' with one another. The 'fit' issue was why I let go of my only Luts girl.

    9. I only have - and only will have - dolls from a few companies. I'm quite brand-loyal; once I know that I like something, I think of it as "safe" and am very likely to go back to that something if I buy again. Right now, the brands that command my loyalty and attention are DollZone, Fairyland (MNFs only), and Angel of Dream.

That said, I do have dolls planned for the future from another company, Dream of Doll, and I may at some point in the future buy from Crobidoll... otherwise, that's all. I have a very particular aesthetic, and so I'm really picky about companies and dolls -- for instance, I'm only interested in 1/3 size dolls from Dream of Doll and Crobidoll, only 1/4 size from Fairyland, and so on.

    10. I only have 2 dolls that are completely from one company, the other 4 are hybrids. I do still have one head and one little one from Notdolllab but the little one is going to go so she doesn't counts. I really like a lot of sculpts of Souldoll and of Latidoll but I do not plan to own more of their dolls. I like the variety in my family :)

    11. Just like Hasel, I like variety and I have several hybrids. My complete dolls, or heads and bodies come from all sorts of companies, but I have a slight preference for CP and Limhwa at the moment.

    12. Absolutely not. <3 I like my mixed family. Dollmore, Bambi Crony, Rosette... and someday, perhaps, LUTS or Iplehouse. <3

It's more fun this way, I think. Keeps things fresh.

    13. I only collect Volks as well. I really love their aesethic and the way they treat their fans. I absolutely love Dopla. I think it also helps me limit my collection as I just do not even consider other companies even though I see so many beautiful dolls from all different companies. It is also easy to find clothes that fit Volks as most clothes (but certianly not all) are sized with them in mind.

    14. So far, only Volks for my two (and the one on the way). I like the anime styled figures. Saber was the one who made me want to get a Dollfie in the first place (with the Aoi model a close second). I've been tempted by others, including Iplehouse, but haven't given in yet. I'm trying not to grow my collection too fast and it's nice having all the same size/maker so that they can share items.

    15. So far I have two Bobobies, one Resinsoul on the way, but they're cast at the same studio. I like to create characters and then it doesn't matter whether a doll is made by Volks or Bobobie or any company.
For my first doll I wanted one who could have a certain kind of kindness, like Kenshin, the manga character. He almost has the same hair.

For my second, I was looking for a diva and as a friend of mine was organizing another BBB group order, I was certain Charisma fit the idea very nicely. And it seems the company picture really doesn't do her much credit. She looks way better than that! Exactly what I wanted, a highly schooled singer who also practices martial arts and isn't afraid of anything or any one for that matter. Except during the thunderstorms we had last month and she crawled under the bed ;)(like my great grandma after whom her character is loosely modelled). And her face simply begs for exuberant face ups. I really love her smirk (original mold is a demon).

As for my third, currently in the making, he has to be tallish and slender, like the manga character he's going to be. RS gang seems to have a stern face which might be useful too. In worst case it doesn't work out at all, I also have some other idea :).

As for their prices, I think it's convenient that they're inexpensive. I'm not in it to own very expensive dolls. I like creating characters, their outfits, their stories etc.

    16. I've got a Luts HDF on the way to me and I'm also paying off parts to put together a Volks MSD. So I guess my top two would be those companies. Although I do like dolls from other companies, I don't really see myself seriously consider buying those dolls unless some mold suddenly cries out to me. I'm simply more inclined to buy Volks or Luts because they seem to have my favorite molds and have better quality control compared to other companies whose molds I've liked but probably won't consider because of splotchy reputation, etc.

    17. I can't stand having more than one doll from the same company unless they're drastically different. (My two fairyland dolls are different sizes so their bodies are different, my two YoSDs look -nothing alike- and, obviously, have different bodies than my MSD F-13) I had two A-line MNFs at once, and I couldn't take how similar they were. I felt like it was a waste of money to have two things be so alike.

Half of the fun of this hobby for me comes out of experiencing all of the different ways bodies are designed, so to have all of them be the same type of body from one company is useless to me.

      Hopefully that made sense :'D

    18. I've actually got a pretty good mix of dolls :) and the ones planned for the future are from a variety of companies. I will admit that i am a glutton for Soom and Luts dolls I adore them, but they dont always fit for what i want ~

Alone in the future i have dolls from Fairyland, Crobidoll, Resinsoul, D.I.M, and possibly Leekeworld planned Plus a slew of other possibilities.

    19. Just Alchemic Labo and Pipos for me. I don't really look much at other companies at this point either but I have considered Blue Fairy, Fairyland and Volks back when I was still shopping around.

    20. Nope :3 The most I have from one company are two Soom tinies XD
