1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Are all your dolls from one company?

Sep 21, 2009

    1. Mine are a mix, however that said, most are Luts. I'd have to go count and edit this when I can go count.

      Edit: Luts - 27 dolls/heads
      Soom: 3
      Fairyland: 7
      Volks: 4 (one incoming)
      Bobobie: 1
      Blue Blood: 1
      Impl Doll: 1
      Lady Sayuki: 1
      Dream of Doll: 1
      Bambicrony: 1
      Asleep Eidion: 1

    2. I only have one BJD, and he's a floating head from ElfDoll. I did see another mold which I really love on that site, but there's also other dollcompanies which I really adore!
I also have two Jun Planning dolls.

    3. I recently learned that I dislike keeping more than one copy of any body type. That said, soon I'm going to have 3 Luts heads vs 2 non-Luts heads in the house, so I guess I'm pretty fond of Luts face sculpts. 8D

    4. no not at all :D My first doll is from RingDoll and the next is HZ and my coming ones are from LUTS and AngellStudio :D
I'm planning to get one from DOD next time :D If I have the money. . . . . .>.<

    5. Pretty much most of the dolls I really like come from one or two companies. Like Fairyland and Elfdoll

    6. I have dolls from many companies, but the only company I have more than one doll from is Volks, but then I only have 2 of their dolls. I used to have 2 dolls from DiM but since sold them. I don't think I could limit myself to one company, there's just too much variety out there :)

    7. Oh gosh no, mine are from several different companies. There are simply so many lovely dolls made by so many companies that I don't think I could ever limit myself. I do have a couple of favorites; companies whose overall aesthetic is just appealing to me, but I've owned dolls from a lot of different makers and I anticipate that it will continue to be that way as long as I'm in the hobby.

    8. My first two are heads from Migidoll, but I plan on putting them on Luts bodies. The next ones I want are from Napidoll, Crobidoll, and Souldoll. My preference is dependent on the sculpt not the company. ^^

    9. I certainly have a mix. It doesn't matter what company, the only important thing is that the doll somehow appeal to me. I must admit I like a variety of different dolls because I think that the hobby will appeal to more people then.

    10. Heck no! I love to sample different companies. I have dolls from three countries (faceups from five) everywhere from 15cm to 70cm. When Asleep Eidolon first started selling to the western doll-buying public, I was in on the first order. Same for Camelia Dynasty ^_^V. Most are new, but several came from other people's collections. Going on pure numbers, I seem to prefer Volks and Soom.

And this would be why my wallet is so often empty.

    11. Because I only own one actual BJD, the answer is yes. I have a Yo-Sd Little Alice. I'd like to get more dolls from different companies in the future, but right now I'm about broke. :(

    12. Out of my four dolls, three are from the same company, so 75% yes, and all of my future wishlist dolls are from the same company.

My reason is because my first was an AoD doll, and I just couldn't help but love the feel of their resin and the look of their work. Sure, the dolls are quite cheap on the scale of the BJD market, but the casting process they use doesn't allow for seam lines, which means I have one less thing to worry about.

Of course, I can understand most not liking AoD face sculpts, like some companies, AoD sculpts tend to look extremely similar to one another. For me, that works well since I actually wanted all of my dolls to have that very similar look to them facially, but with different personalities and such expressed by wigs and clothing, just to show the range of customization.

Now, the non-AoD doll I own has a similar look to most AoD sculpts, so he fits in well. I got him because I saw him on the marketplace and just had to have him. I am weak-willed when it comes to dolls. XD

I know that most people collect from a wide range of companies, but I guess I kind of see collecting from a single company a bit of a fun challenge, seeing how the sculpts all from the same company would look together. Being from a place without any BJD store, my collection is about as close to the idea of "seeing a bunch of them together like sale models" as I will probably get unless I find a way to go abroad.

    13. Yes all of my BJD's are from the same company.
I have owned dolls from several companies in the past but these ended up being my favorites.
There are still other companies and dolls I admire but I think I am likely to stick with Volks for now because I seem to be the happiest with them.

    14. I only have one doll so far, a Luts Kid Delf Woori, but my second doll will also be a Luts doll, a Delf Soony.

That being said, once I finally muster up the courage to suggest getting a third doll, he will be a Crobidoll Lance. xD

    15. Nope! I have a Souldoll, Migidoll (with Demon Garden body), Fairyland, and a Luts head. Lots of variety here!

    16. Currently yes! Or well, I have one Luts doll at home, a Luts head, and one on it's way home (plus an event head o.o").
I'm planning to get home three more Luts dolls, but after that I'll get home dolls from both Crobidoll and Fairyland :3

    17. My very first BJD (<- That's her, over there ) is an Elfdoll Soah, whose price point - and delightful face - were too tempting to resist. In those days, there weren't the inexpensive Chinese dolls there are today, and $450 was an inexpensive BJD! I never could have imagined myself purchasing one of those "expensive" VOLKS or Luts dolls. Once in the BJD orbit, though . . .

Every other doll in my group was born in Kyoto, at VOLKS. No bones about it - I've fallen hard for the company and their dolls.

My wife, on the other hand, has dolls from all over the map - Leeke, Serendipity, Lati, Dollzone - and VOLKS, of course, LOL!

    18. Nope. When I was carried away by BJD, I had only Puki-Pukies and didn't want anything more - they was so little, cute and mobile. ^^ But later I discerned other perfect dolls and replenished my family by dolls of other companies.

Now I have 4 Dollshe, 1 Dollstown, 1 Soom Rosette and 4 Fairyland Puki-Puki. But Dollshe - is my favourite company. *___* This dolls - are great creations!

    19. I only have one so far and two more on the way, but all three are from different companies, Luts, Island and Dollfactory... though I do have one floating head from Luts that I plan to get a body for hopefully soon.

    20. Most of my heads are the older CP ones from Luts, and one newer one from Fairyland (the Vamp Moon). I suspect it's one CP sculptor that I love for heads.

On the other hand my favorite doll is a DoD, and my avatar is a DollZone, and I have bodies from anyone who will sell me one cheap ;)
