1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Are all your dolls from one company?

Sep 21, 2009

    1. All my darlings so far have all been from different companies: Cherishdoll, Fantasydoll, Angelheim, Elfdoll, and Narin. I don't want to buy my dolls all from only one company, it's just not me. Clothing and other dollie needs I like to stick to my favorite companies/customizers. I do notice though that the majority of my dolls are from Korean companies, I tend to like their mods better.

    2. Both of mine come from Fairyland and I imagine the dolls I order in the future will come from them too. I do like other sculpts from different companies but generally FL dolls are always at the top of my wishlist.

    3. I have looked extensively through all or at least most sculpts and molds and found that the Dream of Doll is (in my opinion) the most aesthetically pleasing to me. I own 2 boys from DOD. A Camine (Wolfgang) and a Code No. 2 (Armada). I tend to look at other dolls and not have very nice thoughts about them. And to Volks, yeah they should be given respect, but i wouldnt any of them, even if they went half price. But again....eye of the beholder i guess.....

    4. At the moment - yes, they both are, but I'm not absolutely sure about the future..

    5. Right now I only have one doll, but the two I am looking at are from a different company than my current doll but the same company as each other. :) But, I dont think I can just have the same company dolls.

    6. Well my first doll is a boy. His head was used from soul doll and his body from bobobie. At first, I didnt like it because his head is so delicate compared to his body but now i love him. he is 60 cm which I loved UNTIL I went on Iplehouse ((which i really cant afford)) and saw ASA 70 CM Woma I was blown away so I convinced a boy to buy her for me for my birthday. One of the perks of being a girl hahaha They are both my dream dolls and I love them equally. More will come of course and probably will be from different companies.

    7. I like the korean dolls better too

    8. mine are from two/three companys, depending on how you look at it. I have 5 elfdolls [2 SDs and 3 tinys]. I have 2 Kid delfs, one kid delf head, and one cutie delf head from when luts and fairyland worked together. one kid delf body from now as luts its own company. and one minifee from fairyland now as its own company. i have owned a banji elf elly boy that i really liked but sold for money at the time, I would like to have another someday, but aside from him, i havent seemed to branch out much..i do have dolls i want from other companys..they just havent happened yet.

    9. I was originally going to stick to Iplehouse ONLY... but now Crobidoll has sneaked it's way in and Leekeworld is close to joining my resin family, too. I've started to accept that I can't stick to just one company. Raurencio & Littlemonica are two other companies I have been considering buying from in the future, too. I'm sure the list will grow! Oh, and Alice in Labyrinth has a head I adore- but I'm too hesitant to try a hybrid doll right now.

    10. Yeah, all one company. I had one stray but ended up selling her off. She didn't fit well with the others (both mold and size), and I don't have space for shelf-sitters.

    11. My first doll was an Iplehouse and I've had others since but now I'm back to all Iple.

    12. The majority of my dolls are from Volks; only three of them are from Luts.

    13. I responded to this quite a while ago, but I have quite a few more dolls than before. ^^ They're almost all from different companies so far and my wishlist is filled with dolls from those companies as well as ones I haven't bought from before. I'm with dolls like I am with music, I like the song regardless of the band, so I like the mold regardless of the company.

      Right now I have 1 AOD, 2 Luts/CP, 2 DOD, 1 Migi, 2 FL, 1 CH, 1 SpD, 1 Domuya, 2 Soom, 2 Volks, 1 AS. Yes, they're diverse, but they look surprisingly good together too! :)

    14. Mine are from several, but I`m not well-balanced, Most of them being Volks, and then pretty much 1 doll each from other companies (Luts, Fairyland, Soom) I`ve had more in the past, but they just didn`t look too good near my Volks dolls.

    15. I have one Bobobie, two Ringdolls, and a Doll-Zone head which I am planning on getting an Angel of Dream body for. I love having sculpts from different companies! I like the variety, and I don't limit myself to just resin, either. I also have a Delilah Noir, plus Hujoos and a 27cm Obitsu.

I can't say Volks appeals to me much at this point...it's not that I don't like them, but they're so stylistically different from my other dolls that I just suspect that they wouldn't fit in with them...I like variety, but I do like my dolls to look like they could conceivably belong to the same world (aside from the Hujoos and Obitsu, which predate than the others in my collection).

    16. My crew is now predominantly Volks. Out of 11 dolls, 7 and a half are volks. The half is a hybrid made up of a SD13 body and Switch Shino Head. 1 from Angell Studio, 1 from Doll-Love and 1 incoming from Dollshe. And they are all in the same size range (mainly SD17) with just one yo-sd thrown in for cuteness.

But owing dolls mainly from just one company doesnt mean I do not like other companies. In fact, I like alot of dolls from various companies. Iplehouse's Tedros, Asa and Arvid. Luts, Switch's Hahwa to name just a few. I cant stop drooling over them but I just do not see myself owing them at this point. XD

    17. Right now I have two dolls from two different companies~
(Haha it's in my signature but)

I have an SD doll from Latidoll and an MSD from Dollzone.

My next one is coming from Iplehouse. I find that I usually really, really, like one or two sculpts from a company.
But I can't say for the future (cause some BJD companies are still making new dolls~!)

    18. No. I started with a Fantasy Doll, then Bobobie, then Souldoll, then I saw the Volks store and then Dollfie Dreams type.

    19. All my dolls come from different korean compagnies exept one little doll which is from China.

    20. Most companies have a 'style' to their dolls, or a certain, unique aesthetic. If you like one of their dolls, it makes sense for you to like other dolls sculpted by the same artist, right?

I love Fairyland, and it shows in the fact that I've had many different FL dolls- some don't stick because they don't fit my characters, but I still love the sculpts, resin quality and amazing posing ability of them.

      BUT
I've never just owned FL dolls- currently I have two FL dolls, one Luts, one RS/BBB.
I love Luts, however all of the 3 Luts dolls I've ever had were impulse buys, but one I am simply too in love with and is so perfect for his character that I kept him. Yes, I'd buy Luts dolls again because they are good quality and make beautiful sculpts. I think this is how people end up with dolls all from one company.

I've never had a doll from, say, Dollzone or Lati, and because of that I might be more hesitant to buy from them (I'm assuming a lot of people think like this, also) because you can read a million reviews of dolls and look at hundreds of owner pictures, but never really know what they're like until they're in your hands, stealing your heart or just really not impressing you.

Stick to what you know and love- that's how humans are. It makes sense that people with multiple dolls often own more than one doll from the same company.
