1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Are all your dolls from one company?

Sep 21, 2009

    1. Yes because i have only 1 doll now from Islanddoll

    2. Yes I have a pkf and a mnf from Fairyland. XD

    3. no i have dolls from 4 difrent companys :P but three of them i have goten secend hand :P

    4. I have BlueFairy, Fairyland and Dream of Doll... And I'm planning to buy from the same companies and some Volks and maybe Oasisdoll...

Mixed companies are ok for me :)

    5. So far it's Mirodoll and Resinsoul though I do have a Magical Angel head coming this week. Likely he'll end up on a Miro body though.

    6. I have a lot of dolls, from many different companies.

    7. Yes. my dolls are from different companies.
Fairyland, Limhwa, and i am planning to have at least three Iplehouse's dolls.

    8. All my dolls are from Volks, but that's mainly because I discovered I was allergic to certain resins from other doll companies and have been scared about investing in anything I might be allergic to. Sadness! My husband also has noticed that he has allergy symptoms to certain doll resins, so it is a big concern to me whether one of us or both of us are allergic to a certain doll because the doll is definitely not going to be part of my collection if that is the case. Luckily, I have a friend who is also a fellow BJD collector and she has either had or did face-ups for Volks, Bambicrony, Luts, Iplehouse, Soom, and a few more that I can't remember which helps in figuring out whether or not we're allergic to other BJD companies. She's also noticed allergies in herself with certain doll resins, and has gotten into the habit of washing her dolls' bodies upon arrival if there is any hint of an allergic reaction. If allergies persist, the doll is gone.

I think my allergies are fine with Bambicrony dollies, so that's good because I think they're adorable. I think my worse reaction was with a Soom doll which was a combination of coughing, sneezing, wheezing, rashes, and bloody noses. I think Luts was a mild irritation, but tolerable which is good because I've always wanted their Senior Delf Frey. I don't remember my reaction to Iplehouse dolls, but as far as I know it was probably fine as my husband and I still want some dolls from there.

Aside from allergies, my husband, BJD friend, and I also noticed differences in resin from each company. If I were to base it upon resin alone, I would probably only purchase, Volks, Luts, Bambicrony, and Iplehouse. I think there was another company that impressed me when my friend had one of their dollies, but I don't remember which company it was unfortunately.

Aesthetics wise, I appreciate other doll companies as well as Volks for head sculpts, default face-ups, and general default body looks. So although I only have purchased from Volks, I don't think it would always be the case in the future. I just need to do further allergy "testing" with my husband and myself, and see how well other dollies age in comparison to my Volks dolls. =D

    9. All my dolls are from different companies. I used to just collect Fairyland dolls but needed new creatures for certain characters so started searching elsewhere. My dolls are from Fairyland, Luts, Island Doll, DaisyDayes, Dreamhigh Studio, Doll Chateau, Lati doll, and a couple of other solo artists. I have attached a pic of some of my dolls. It is most of my collection. Only dolls absent from the pic are my doll chateau dolls, island dolls, daisydayes goblins and centaur, and my dreamhigh studio fairies.

    10. Fairyland! Yosh!

    11. I want to try them all! Or to at least have my dolls from a few different companies... I fall for doll companies easily I suppose :)

    12. Most of my dolls are Luts dolls. I look at other doll companies all the time but always come back to Luts. I do have two dolls from other companies and one on the way, but even so, most of the dolls on my wishlist are Luts dolls. I can't help it!! I think part of the reason is that I want them to look that they all come from the same world. The other two companies I chose (Soom and Angell Studio) have a similar look as well.

One of these things doesn't belong....

    13. Both of my dolls are from Dollmore. If/when I get any more dolls, I'm pretty sure they'll all be from Dollmore too. Hopefully :c

    14. Over time, I've realized I prefer the aesthetics of Volks sculpts for SD size and Lati for everything else, and have stuck to it. :)

    15. Almost! I have 8 dolls and a majority (5) of them are from Fairyland, one other is a Luts CP, the the last two are Bambicrony and Souldoll : )

    16. I think I'll only buy dolls from fairyland. :)

    17. I like having a huge variety in my collection, so I have dolls from many different companies. I do have my favorites, though. The most dolls I have from one company is from Fairyland. I have 10. But that's only because littlefee's steal my heart like nobodies business >w< SOOM comes to a close second with 9 dolls, and that is because I get floored by the freaking teenie gems. I'm a Yo-SD person, for sure, and FL and Soom just happen to make my favorites.

I don't see a problem with only collecting one kind of companies dolls, I just prefer to have aesthetic variety.

    18. I'm all over the place as well; so far I have dolls from 16 different companies. The only company I own multiple dolls from is CustomHouse (who I believe has since fallen off the face of the earth). It's not that I particularly love their sculpts more than other companies' dolls, it's just how my doll family seems to have worked out!

    19. No but a lot are either Luts, Fairyland, or Soom.

    20. Not all, but most of mine are from Impldoll. They have beautiful dolls and excellent customer service. They also have clothing at very reasonable prices! A welcomed change to what I'm normally use to spending.
