Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Are "Fantasy" dolls more attractive to you?

Jun 2, 2009

    1. Yes and no. I do have some vamp/elf Delfs, but they still look pretty human and in most cases I bought them for their face sculpt despite the elf ears, which I then hide. The little teeth on the vamps I own are so tiny they don't usually matter anyway, so I don't really consider them fantasy dolls.

The more overt fantasy dolls don't really appeal to me. Some of the Soom monthlies are damn impressive and I very much understand the pull, but I don't think I could own one. I wouldn't play with them the way I do my more 'normal' looking dolls.

    2. I think it could swing either way. Humans and fantasy dolls can be done well, or they could be done horribly. It depends on the way the person makes their personality shine through.

    3. I appreciate the fantasy dolls for what they are, but realism grabs me more for my own collection

    4. I'd like to have a half elf once. But for now, I'm happy with my one human doll. She's very pretty and the next one I'm going to save up for, she'll be human, too.
Maybe some day I'll buy a half elf or a vampire, but for now, I prefer my human.

    5. Yes, definitely. I prefer the fantasy dolls, although I collect mostly for pretty faces, regardless of their fantasy parts.

    6. It depends. Although I respect it quite a bit, I've never really been in to much of anything in the fantasy genre, personally. I really like the occasional vampire doll, but it feels much more natural for me to write about human characters, so most of my dolls are human in turn.

    7. It depends entirely on the doll. I got both the bobobie Ai and Mu (hooved dolls) because I loved their digitigrade legs and horns so much, but I also like human dolls just as well, I just didn't want to buy any.

    8. You know, it's weird... See, before, I really didn't care for fantasy dolls, then when I came across Resinsoul's Long, I wanted to buy him, make a whole elf family for him, and give him a girlfriend who was also a fantasy creature (possibly a fairy?). XD

    9. Unequivocal yes. I have only one human so far - only because my story requires it - and I intend to keep it that way.

    10. I usually like the dolls that look like regular people, because in some photos they can just look so alive. :3 That doesn't seem to happen as often with the white, long-haired, elegant fantasy dolls.
But on some smaller dolls I think the hooves look really cute, (on the tall dolls the legs just get so LOOOOONG with the hooves on..) and the wings and scaley body parts are always pretty because I like the scale and feather shapes~

    11. I love elf ears , but, of course, onlt if they are not very very bigs. I hate Lati yellow Unicorn ears!! :ablah:

About vampires, i think i don,t like them. They are i bit dark for me.

But if i have to choose one theme i prefer human dollies:thumbup

    12. I dislike most of the fantasy dolls. Which surprises me, as I love fantasy books, films, etc. hmmm...?

    13. I like the fantasy dolls and think they look really neat. But there is only a few I would like to own. I mostly want normal girls.

    14. I much prefer realistic dolls, just like I tend to prefer realistic movies, etc. Some historical dolls, but still, realism is key.

    15. Vampires, faeries, ghosts, elves! I prefer mine to be fantasy!

    16. I have a preference to humans. I like fantasy, but not so much in dolls. I'm not much interested in fantasy parts or skin colours other than the natural human ones.
This might change, but as it is now, I will keep my dolls human.

    17. Fantasy all the way. Especially if it involves horses or animals, like centaurs or fauns or dragons. Whatever it be. Magic too. I love to read fantasy and watch 'fantasy' type movies aka; dragons, Disney, Robin Hood.... I am not into anthro dolls too much and do not like skin colors much, but I like my dolls to have fantasy characters, and little things like wings or horns are cool.

My Lavender is a princess and my Indigo is a mage.

    18. Yep ^^ All the way =)
Wings: U don't mind them but not a fave, which is probably whymine don't have wings( yet :3)
Elf ears: Yes Yes Yes!!! I find them simply adorable just the little poking on them makes me go: WAAAANT!!Lyco is off for an elf ear mod at the mo, so even better!!
Hooves: I font own any w/hooves yet, but basically the same as elf ears, on a smaller scale ^^
Vampire fangs: Differs. If one is showing, fine. Two, they'd have to be diddy. Larger fangs don't grab me.

    19. See, I'm not a fantasy fan, like at all. So while I think the fantasy dolls are really cute, it's more of a "Oh, that's cute" and then I forget about it. Heck, I refuse to get any doll with elf ears. It might be an amazing sculpt otherwise, but the ears will immediately kill the urge to buy. Because of the RPGs I play, I'd prefer not to see Vampires with visible fangs, so I'll just as easily make a Vampire character and use a human sculpt.

    20. everytime i see a doll with pointy ears i want to buy it!
i wish there could be more dolls with ears like soom amber's :D
      but i try to avoid dolls with fangs ¬_¬ they're so frustrating to paint and im not a particullary a vampire fan. none of my characters are vampire. but if its a mold i want really badly then i might buy it anyway... ^^;;
