Are "Fantasy" dolls more attractive to you?

Jun 2, 2009

    1. They can replace me experience all times, can replace me to do a lot of this life I can't completely finished things

    2. I am drawn to fantasy dolls, but don't have any. I'd love to own one, but I seem to be more entranced with humans when it comes to buying time.

    3. I definitely prefer fantasy dolls! Unusual skin colours, pointy ears, colourful faces, irreal eyes and most of all, fantasy parts! I am a huge sucker for fantasy parts, human dolls just don't do it for me...

    4. I honestly didn't think I would be as into fantasy dolls as I am. My current leading man (so to speak) is a white skinned demon with white hair and transparent/silver horns and an automail/cybernetic arm, I also have a Resinsoul Pixiu (dragon) child. Those two are my complete dolls and are currently my favourites. My female doll needs her forever wig and head and her guns. The next doll on my wishlist is a centaur from Impldoll and the one after that is human. This change in preference was unexpected for me because I've always liked fantasy but thought I wanted human dolls because they're more versatile. I think it's more of an aversion to elves because I grew up on ElfQuest comics and no BJD gets it quite right yet.

    5. I think I prefer human dolls to be honest, however I'm really tempted to get unicorn Jodie from cherish doll so we will see :)

    6. Oooh I love them. But they're usually very expensive.. too expensive for my wallet xD

    7. Personally I'm all about the fantasy and females. There was once a post about your dolls portraying what you wish your life was like and that is definitly what I do with my dolls and why they are all fantasy. If I get a human it will be only one and will be the odd one out but even he (plans for the human to be male) will have some tie to being magical because he is a man in a female dominated world. I just love fantasy. I stray from vamps and werewolfs due to the ridiculous craze and misunderstandings about them tho. I like to reside more in demon fantasy culture instead.

    8. I like both human and fantasy dolls, but fantasy dolls just have this unique aspect that I absolutely love: their mythical-ness. I love mythical creatures, always been fascinated by them.
I would love to own one one day! I'm especially interested in mermaids. :)

    9. I thought I liked human dolls better, but when I look at my collection I have a cat girl and an elf, and a mermaid on her way. :) I guess eventually I'll get a human doll, but I may end up adding a fantasy element to him as well!

    10. I'm a huge fantasy nerd as well, but so far few fantasy dolls have appealed to me, for two main reasons.
      1. They rarely if ever look like I want that particular kind of fantasy creature to look like.
      2. When they do look "right", it's usually creatures that I'm not all that into anyway.

That said, they are often beautiful and really well made, they often impress me, and I can understand why people want them, they're just not for me.

    11. im one of those few people that just like normal human bjd's... the fantasy and animal ones creep me out D:

on the exception of a few elf sculpts im trying to find D:

    12. I really want a Pixiu eventually, but honestly, I've never been able to hold onto Elf dolls....I just don't have elf characters I want to make.

    13. Oh man, my first three boys have elf ears, the third was a pleasant surprise as his sculpt photos didn't clearly show his ears. XD;

I'm a massive sucker for fantasy BJDs and fantasy parts. I'm currently sitting at 3:2 for fantasy:non-fantasy ratio.

The next boy I plan on buying will probably be a DoD Azera, which would tip the scale to a 2:1 fantasy:non ratio. Two fantasy boys per one normal/non-fantasy type.

    14. To me fantasy dolls are, I'd say... as attractive as non-fantasy. It really depends on the character I think of and how much I like the mold. For instance, I have a Resinsoul Iruhi with elf ears because I liked him more with the elf ears, but his character is not really a fantasy character. Of course, this kind of thing wouldn't be possible with a centaur or a doll with mech parts, which can be awesome with the right character!

    15. I don't like fantasy sculpts more than ones that just look like humans, in general.

I like many sculpts of each type, and also dislike many sculpts of each type.

Depends on how the doll looks as a whole, really.

    16. My dols are humans but i like the fantasy doll concept since the way they look intrigues me and some just came out looking pretty impressive like Soom Mixi, Topaz, Bix and Quartz. i would like to own one but I don't have a character to house in them

If anything i read fantasy fiction books as well so I guess that does play a part in admiring the fantasy sculpts.

    17. Actually, more than half of my dolls are human or at least, look human. Two are elves, one's a "zombie pirate" (grey skinned, so not really human), one's a flower and one's a - well, Realpuki. ;) I'm not really into the hooves-and-horns-thing and though e.g. the Soom Fantasy MDs look great, I wouldn't want to own one. Only exception from my "no hooves and horns"-rule is Luken. He'll get hoof-legs and demon horns (once I get to modding the thigh-joints to fit) cos he's a dark mage and can turn himself into something that looks like a demon. At least, in the stories. So I decided to give it a try.

    18. I have to say I love the fantasy dolls and normal ones equally. :) Two of mine are foxboys, complete with ears and tails... the other two are normal humans. :)

    19. I love the fantasy dolls. XD I have two on the way right now. (a demon and a unicorn? not sure what the Adela would be categorized as since she only has a horn)
I would love to get a Trista body as well. Centaurs are one of my favorite fantasy creatures so it would be really cool to make my Adela into a hybrid. :D We'll see.
I've seen some really pretty human dolls but I think Fantasy gives it that extra boost of beauty.

    20. Hmm... Not really. I actually like normal human like dolls more @___@" I had a fantasy themed BJD at first but... Uhh... Then I got my mare human boy and... Was hit by amor's arrow... I do like fantasy dolls but I don't value them any more or less than mare human dolls... It is complicated hahah... ^ ^
