1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Are there any dolls you think only suit one hair colour/eye colour/style etc?

Mar 17, 2010

    1. I think it could be if you already imagined what will your doll looks like, not exact color but can be a little kindda dark tone or light etc... but for me, not at all, I love experimenting with my dolls

    2. It really depends on how the faceups are done and a person's personal taste. For me, I believe the Asleep Eidolon Jiao Jr. with red hair doesn't really do much for her. But I believe white, brown, pink, and teal look absolutely gorgeous on her. But it's really on what a person prefers.

    3. My first doll is coming in and he's a modded LeekeWorld Mihael (got him second hand, but I love the modding on his eyes!) and the original owner had someone do a custom faceup. He's got brown and red earthy tones all over and I'm pretty sure he has a few freckle-like features. They're sending me a free gray wig which I'm thankful for, but I don't necessarily think it would match his face up. I think a wig that matches his reddish-brown face up would look much better. Besides, it wouldn't match his eyebrows. So I plan to get him a new wig that goes better one of these days.

So long story short, no, I don't think it has anything to do with the doll or sculpt, but rather the faceup. If you really want a doll to wear a certain wig and think it looks strange, it's probably just the faceup.

    4. Very specific: I tried quite some wigs on Luken and though he looked ok, the one wig that makes him look like himself the most is the one that came with him. I didn't even try to change the eyes - they're just perfect. :D

    5. I think most regular dolls look great in any color scheme, but I also agree that the different colored resins aren't quite as flexible as regular resins. I know it's just my opinion, but I think gray-skinned dolls look horrible with blond wigs. And so on.

    6. When it comes to dolls in general, they can look good in many different styles -- I can't think of a doll that I feel looks best done up one way. With my own dolls, however, once I pick hair and eye color, that doesn't change. It becomes part of their character, so it would be very odd to put them in a different colored wig for instance.
