1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

are your dolls too "precious" to enjoy?

    1. I hear stories about doll face-plants, and how people freak out that the resin gets scratched or something. On one hand, it gives me something to guard against, but on the other... well, it sort of makes me wonder. Like, I sometimes think why are you taking your doll out and about when you're guarding them against everything? Like, why don't you just keep them inside your home if you're so careful.

I used to be one of those people at first. But after a while, I realized my dolls are pretty durable. I don't totally neglect them, but I'm ok if there's a scratch here or there on an arm or a leg - though I do understand the face. A minor thing like that can be photoshoped out somehow.

    2. Well, when I first got my BJD, I was a bit overprotective. But now I think I'm less fussed. I just make sure that my hands are clean before I handle them, I wash all new clothes before putting them on so they won't leave stains on my dolls, I never leave their clothes on them for too long and if I do, it's always the white ones that won't stain, I don't leave their wigs on them for too long either, and I always put them back in their boxes when I'm done taking their photos, etc, and I don't leave them in direct sunlight. I have Michael sitting on the floor just chilling next to me now. I'm not going to go so far as to handle them with gloves on. I don't mind if they get scratched or yellow in the long run. It's part of what makes them them and they age just as we do. It's fine. I'd like to enjoy them as much as possible as I didn't purchase these dolls for display only.

    3. I've always been very careful with my things (friends often say I'm TOO careful, haha). This is especially true for my dolls, since they are basically the most pricey things I own. I don't find that it really takes away from them... I think I can enjoy them more knowing they're well taken care of.
