Bambicrony Bella Bambi discussion part 1

Oh! The Harang face-up looks very lovely! I am getting so excited!

I shall try my petite ai heads on the body (if its not too difficult to take the Vivienne head off), and I have a luts sleeping cutie delf, but that will most likely be too small in proportion.

I'm halfway through the wait on my FS Vivienne. We should really start a Bella Bambi thread of our own in 'Incoming Doll.' Who else here is waiting on a fullset version?

Awesome! I'm really looking forward to seeing mine, too. I just received another doll in the mail yesterday, so I can keep myself busy playing with that one during the wait. lol

I still haven't decided whether to add a bigger girl to my twosome of BC elves. Bambicrony is my company of choice, so i guess some where down the line (like if they do and elf release!!) A vivienne will be joining Lydia and Akiko!

I can't wait for owner pictures!

She is here! She is gorgeous, she looks very much like a slightly more grown up version of my pepe, but she has the usual bambi faults, stringing too tight, that yellow string with the rubbish knots instead of s-hooks, strange colour changes in the resin, but I expected all of those things so she's currently in pieces on my dining room table waiting to be re-strung and s-hooked this evening

The flexibility is AMAZING! the joints make clicks when you move them and the torso joint's internal structure is the first I've seen like it in a tiny! The hip joint is annoyingly clunky, you feel like you're snapping something in her when you sit her down, but again, that could just be the weird bambi stringing, overall, she was worth every penny, she has SUCH attitude already and I love her

that picture actually shows the different resin tone between her head and body quite well. It improved slightly after I scrubbed it down, but there is still a difference.

 

Lulu--- she is fantastic! I just checked my order status and I've been upgraded to "before shipping"--- hoping I get my girl in the next week!

 

I'm feeling a little disappointed after hearing your experience, LuLu. I was hoping with it being a brand new size/type doll for Bambi Crony, that we would get someone ready to go out of the box. I'm not looking forward to having to take my girl apart and restring her right away, and the resin difference between head and body has me nervous.
I'm still "before shipping" for one week now.

I dont think Lulu ment to scarre you at all dear.
I got both my smaller Bambi girls to stand and pose well even though they have all the flaws from Bambi, including the crazy tight elastic, weird yellow string.

I think Lulu just wanted to add to her mobility by restringing her to her own liking and adding S hooks. Just letting everyone know that these girls also have no S hooks and like all of bambi's girls are really tightly strung. Like the other ones they have shipped out.

They are a totally new sculpt, body wise and face wise.
Regarding the resin difference.... well.... Bambi has never been really good at it anyway.

P.S. If your worried about it then you dont need to restring her. It helped me a great deal to leave my girls for a couple of days sitting on their knees. It loosence the elastic up a tiny bit. Not as much as when you do it with larger dolls I will admit. But they both behave much better now after I did that.

 

Oh dear, Feather's absolutely right, I really didn't mean to scare anyone! I like my dolls to have as much mobility as possible so generally speaking, if the stringing comes in tight like that, I will take them all apart regardless of company.

If it makes it any better, she could stand and had good range right out of the box, but, as I said, I like all of mine to have as much movement as I can get out of them

 

Thanks for clearing that up for me LuLu! Its my first Bambi Crony purchase, so I am not sure what to expect considering the wide range of opinions on them thruout the forum.
I actually haven't bought any bjds for quite awhile, my last being Blue Fairy Tiny Fairy May when they first came out (before they even had an international shop). I think thats been around 3-4 years perhaps.
Restringing itself doesn't upset me, but I just don't want to bother with it if possible. Small color variations in the resin don't bother me much either, but a big difference between the head and body would.
What did you clean your head with, LuLu? Just a cloth and warm soapy water, or a Magic Eraser?

 

Personally, I've never had a problem with bambicrony, my vivienne was perfect in terms of cast excess between the fingers and things, she needed a bit of a clean, but that might just have been my pickyness over cast residue.

I scrubbed her head down with a cloth & warm soapy water which did lighten it up a little closer to her body shade, it's not as bad as the above picture now by any means. Also, that picture was taken before I stripped her down, so you can see she had full range of movement out of the box, I've just learnt from re-stringing about 6 bambi's that they always come out of the factory tight and wihout s-hooks, so as a matter of course I always dismantle them now

 

Ohh you guys have me so excited! Lulu your girl is so adorable!! I'm $249 away form my Marianne..I've been eyeing a Bambi girl for a while, and I was originally set to get a Pepe but she was a little too young for the chacarter I had in mind...then I happened to run across Bambi's website last night and saw the new girls! I had no idea they had new dolls released! With my birthday money in hand (im saving pennies) I have a goal of Marianne by Christmas. I'm exited because my friend already owns a Lotti and when she comes in town form collage the two girls will have playtime! XD!
