Batchix Gorgeous Guys 51cm discussion

All the grey Dark Elves are shipping first! But like @Roterwolkenvogel my boy is taking a detour for a faceup. Can't wait to see all the new boys make it to their destinations and looking forward to the ways everyone customises them!

 

I just saw this. With this latest order, Batchix got a limited supply of extras. Get in contact with her via Instagram, Tumblr, or DoA messages to see if you can stake a claim because, as said previously, this is probably your last chance to get a Dark Elf firsthand rather than on the secondhand market. (Nothing wrong with secondhand, I'm the second owner of my boy.)

 

I have a good idea who my guy is, but he may have other thoughts. I never know until I pick up the paint brush.
(even on dolls with factory faceups. must add some character to have an original face! )

at least he will have clothes.

 

Ah I would love a clever and clever little. I am getting a Magic Mirror May and I think a clever little would look perfect with her.

Got the shipping notice last week on my birthday, and my Dark Elf showed up in the mail and I was able to pick him up today!
Now to wait for good weather and time to do a face-up.

Hey @Dainty Dormouse what colour resin is that? It really glows!

 

petiteballerine, xylene, he's the violet/purple option. He's a bit translucent, and I have terrible lighting most days, so only his right shoulder in the shadow of his body is close to his in-person shade.

 

that's the violet? in the bright light of the Haru-casting photos, he looks blue, and your man looks pink.
he must be a chameleon. I'm happy to see the violets are shipping.
Not here yet, though.

you have one of the cool swords Bats made for us. Nice color. Is it a glowy one?

 

In some of my photos of Inyol he looks different depending on the light and exposure, so I bet it’s a matter of how much (and what color) light penetrates that purple resin. I’m curious to see how your purple boys will compare with the older purple boys like Inyol. (Haru’s resin is sure to be much better, I think!)

As for swords, I got one that glows! I’m curious about the two with liquid crystal effects? What is that? I couldn’t tell from the post on Instagram.

To be honest I like all of the colors of the elves. I've been looking at the photos here and searching them on-line. I've seen so many photos that it's hard to really pick just one. I love the wood elf, and the purple one, best. My sister loves to kid me about purple. She says that only old ladies like purple, but even when I was 5.... Purple and blue were the bomb.

Have any of you seen the Void Elves of World of Warcraft? Or Illidan Stormrage? I love them, and their color is amazing.

I didn't do his first faceup or his new one. The first faceup was done by @Buff and I think anyone that ordered a faceup for the second round of Dark Elves will also be getting faceups from Buff! The second faceup with all the big, glorious freckles was done by Bearcalledred.

Hahahhahhh!!! Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! I love him so much. The wig is Monica Gold, btw. Pretty inexpensive and I just added a teeny bit of hair wax and oil (mixed between my finger tips) to the top for some realism and tame some of those synthetic flyaway hairs.

Did you talk to Batchix about getting your own Dark Elf?

 

I did talk to Batchix, and was able to adopt one of her Wood Elf boys. (Thank you for your suggestion to talk to her.) He's the same sculpt as the Dark Elf but he's in the tan colored resin. I got him yesterday and I think he's amazing. (I'd say the resin is about the same color as the Dollshe tan or the Iplehouse glow Lt Brown.) I love the sculpt of the entire doll, and can't wait to play with him.

I was looking at the wigs that I have in the 5-6 size and they are pretty much all to fluffy for him. Center part wigs is what I had in mind as the bangs usually overwhelm the smaller heads.
I do have some briefs that fit him and maybe some of the Iplehouse FID or the Vito Souldoll clothing until I can find the things that I want for him.

Added: I'm hoping to get one of the Dark Elf boys in the purple. I love purple!!
