It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Best/oddest freebies

Feb 21, 2010

    1. Ah, JunkySpot... I love how even the 'cheap' orders have a little something!

      My most recent order came with a little bitty panda (I think an eraser) buddy that my dolls will have to fight over, and a gummy roadkill (which I gave to my brother rather promptly. Weirdest candy I've ever received, but my brother enjoys weird stuff)

    2. I've only ordered from Luts, Soom and Dollmore, and Dollmore is the only company i've got freebies from - A lot of candy, free glass eyes, underwear for my doll and a really cute strawberry hoodie (: When I ordered from Dollmore at christmas time, I got my little gifts in a really cute christmas sock. I think that was really sweet of them.

    3. I recently bought something from an Etsy seller who included an extra MSD sized shirt and a funky pair of 16mm eyes with my order. That has been my best gift so far. Best because I love the cute little shirt and because the seller actually paid attention to what I'd ordered so that the gift was also an appropriate size for my dolls.

    4. Junkyspot freebies are always interesting. I've gotten the fortune-telling fish, several packets of the "Snowmen Come Unassembled" treats (which are basically marshmallows in a little bag), a Castlevania CD and a Hatsune Miku cellphone charm.

      But I think the winner for oddest freebie I've gotten goes to Bobobie. When I received my second RS Bei I got an aqua-colored wig that I think is a size 9-10, too big for any of my girls. All I know is that when I opened the box and saw it, my first impression was that I'd been sent a Tribble.

    5. Mint on Card gave me awesome candy and a pin. I have a bunch of postcards. Leeke gave me a moisturizing facial mask that I didn't use because I was afraid I would be allergic. Nine9 sent me a cute Santa hat for my dolls last year too

    6. Usually, I would much rather these people KEEP their random-choice nonbiodegradable stuff that they know I don't want, & that will end up in a Nigerian landfill within 5 years. Save me a trip to the Goodwill! When I've ordered a pile of black large-size masculine clothes & the freebie is a pink baby girl's top... or when I get my sixth pair of pink plastic eyeballs in a year... or when I get a size-10 wig in a shade of grey-mint-zombie-green heretofore undiscovered by modern color theory... I know they're just unloading junk that they can't sell for money. :lol:

      Dollmore at least give interesting freebies, although they too always end up in the Goodwill donation box. Like a calendar full of all the least-attractive dolls in their repertoire, which I'm sure got loved by somebody who likes baby & female dolls.... or animal-themed kiddie erasers that have nothing to do with dolls... or a strange wooden figure held together with elastics which might make a fun puzzle-toy for a 3-year-old.....

      I think my oddest Dollmore freebie was a black PVC lolita dress. It was one of the old long-ago holiday events, where if you spent X dollars you'd get a random outfit in X range... for my enormous order full of male clothing, I got an utterly useless lolita dress. XD However, this was easy to sell to dollpeople so it didn't end up at the Goodwill.

    7. Not always! I ordered a head from them, $15 bucks...and all I got was what I ordered. Not even a piece of candy. I was disappointed, cause all I ever heard, and still hear, you get all this STUFF from Junkyspot! No, you don't. I bought a doll and got a box of "ice cream" cones. Some sort of puffed candy inside. That was it. Not all these DVDs and toys and all...I was surprised to get the candy since my first order got nothing, figured that order wouldn't get anything either.

      My experience will vary from someone else's.

    8. I've gotten all kinds of awesome little freebies from the Junkyspot...Angry Bird gummies, a teeny tiny Ghost Rider figurine, a duck-shaped eraser, a fortune-telling fish, a plush Yoshi keychain, and a bunch of other stuff. I was especially amused by the edible tongue tattoos.

      ...I love those guys. Haha.

    9. I think I got a similar moisturizing facial mask from DoD, but I didn't use it because it's for dry skin and I don't really have a dry skin problem

    10. Oh man, Junky Spot orders for me are always a case of "I have no idea what the blazes I'll get this time" XD;

      Don't get me wrong; I love the freebies, but they are COMPLETELY RANDOM. XD;

      Let's see...

      First time I ordered a doll from Junkyspot, I got an edition of CLAMP no Kiseki, Valkyrie Chronicles soundtrack, a small Spider-Man figurine, I think there was also a plushie Mario and....Oh man I can't even remember. But was awesome.

      The more recent time I ordered through Junkyspot, I got a Devil May Cry Music DVD, a Booberry plushie, a puzzle eraser, a Hello Kitty eraser...

      It's the things like the DMC DVD and the CLAMP no Kiseki that always leave me going "Emory how the heck do you find these things? .____. " in sheer awe and wonder.

      Alice's Collections gave me a magic eraser, once. XD;

      Moonlightdoll gave me a 70cm outfit.

      Mint on Card gave me candy! And a pair of shoes.

      Annnnd.....

      Uh....

      Ilovedollheart gave me candy too, I think. :3c

      Junkyspot's freebies make me want to keep ordering from them, just out of the sheer "HOLY CRAP OMG <3333!!!" I get with respect to "How did he even find this?! <33333". Because, well, as far as I know CLAMP no Kiseki are pretty hard to come by these days. And I'd also think that the same would be the case with the DMC Music DVDs. ._.;;

    11. So far the coolest freebie I've received was a free pair of boots with my AF Alice from MoC. The weirdest would be a mini slaphand from Junkyspot.

    12. JunkySpot sends some weird stuff sometimes. Like gummy candy that is shaped like roadkill.

      Some of the best freebies I've gotten have come from random people that I bought dolls from secondhand, not companies..... like a miniature zombie figure.

    13. The first time I bought a Cherishdoll faith, they sent me a ballpoint pen a) wrapped in white ribbon tape with black polka dots, b) with a cheery ribbon of the same tape glued to it *and* a heart-shaped pink stone holding it in place, c) with a plushie star on top, d) with fake feathers glued to the plushie star.

      It's so girly, it has to be seen to be believed.

      I keep it at the office, because I'm sure if I loan it to somebody, they will return the pen ;)

    14. Somewhere, I still have the Junkyspot thong I got from the one order I ever placed with them.

    15. I think the pen I got from Dollmore just beats that, but only just-- (a) Wrapped in red ribbon, (b) topped with a big puffy foam heart, that is (c) trimmed with red marabou feathers and (d) mylar ribbons, and the front of the heart has shiny green puff-lettering that says (e) "LOVE".

      I also keep mine at the office... there is zero chance of THAT pen being accidentally borrowed & never returned. As it towers and twinkles there in my pencil-jar, I think of it as one of the few beacons of girliness decorating the Engineering & QA department, so it's providing a service even while not in use.

    16. South Corea, your pens are awesome *raises fist*

      (I'm a systems administrator myself XD)

    17. Hahah I need one of those! I work with like 300 men, also an IT-girl :)

      Anyway I haven't gotten many freebies, I do wish for a European version of the Junkyspot, I'd love to order my dolls and get loads of weird stuff :lol:

      The best I've gotten so far was from this board, I commissioned a pair of pants for an oddly sized doll and the person who made them was kind enough to also make me an appropriately sized shirt and socks so she wouldn't be naked on the top. It was really thoughtful and nice! Sadly I STILL can't get my hands on the head I need to hybrid the girl but that's a whole different story.

    18. I ordered a little cat cat wong from camellia dynasty. I didn't even realise they had a promotion with a free gift, but he's really cute and the spend to get him is quite low ($50)
      [IMG]
      He's Mokona, and even though i googled it, i'm not terribly sure what he is. Wonderful quality though, totally sanded, and even his ears are individual sculpts.

      (ok not sure how i made the photo so BIG......)

    19. well I am bummed, my first and only ordered doll was my lester from souldoll and I didn't get anything free

    20. I'll second this, I ordered on Obutsu head & body about $30 dollars. All I got was a business card...
      The only free gifts I've gotten is a magic eraser, and a promotional free necklace from Alice collections :/
