The S-hook problem happened to my chestnut too I was using the small pliers to pull it up but the hook twisted and slipped inside the neck hole...my girl's neck has a few chips now. I will have to replace it too.

Also, I wish my girl could lift her chin higher or lower. The thing where the S-hook sits should be deeper I think...anyone else has this head mobility problem? Or any suggestions?

 

My guy's head has full mobility but it can't stay in place because of the smoothness of the resin (it also makes him static-y lol). I think the problem for me would be solved with hot glue sueding. Is your girl just totally unable to get her head in certain positions?

 

I've always been afraid of that happening so I tie a long ribbon or cord tightly around the top of s-hook (in the middle of the ribbon) and then tie the two ends together and it forms a "handle" to pull with. If it slips, no worries, I just pull the ribbon back up. So much easier than the pliers method--you have a lot more leverage and just use your arm rather than your hand or wrist to pull with. Be sure to use square knots!

 

It doesn't help when the s-hook stretches, though :P. The top part is what bent out of shape on mine, which I was pulling with a strip of ribbon. Luckily, I was able to wedge it in the neck opening and pull it out with forceps. I think we should just be aware of the potential issues with the s-hooks being that this happened to more than one person.

 

Yes, that's true--must have missed that in my quick read through. Glad you had some forceps handy. I'd be in a panic if that happened to me.
I'll definitely be careful when I can actually bring one of these lovelies home.

I've had Amber for a while, wanting her on the girl body but ending up buying him on the boy body (and even when he arrived I still wanted him as a girl). This is probably the most indecisive-when-it-comes-to-gender doll in my collection

@awsed, I can't find him as a full doll from the website, but his head is in the "bodies" section under the name Silver fir (here), so I guess he can be ordered? There is no prices visible on the English version of the website... I'm sorry I can't be more of help, I never ordered from their website. I think he is also called Shuang Shuang? I hope you can find out how to order him! ♥

I just recently ordered a Be Yours Olive from SWdoll.com And I've already waited about 2 months. I was just wondering if this is about average wait from the company or if its because I used a middle man. They respond promptly I was just wondering other buyers experience with the company.
How do you guys like the resin quality verses other companies better or worse?

@tekkonkinkreet I love Pansy too, she is such a cute and unique sculpt.

@awsed I hear Chinese friends say that Pansy and Silver fir are twins, their faces is so similar to the other except the mouth shape. And Silver fir is somewhat a limited doll in last year event so there is no way to buy him now, if anyone is interested in him, they can buy Pansy as a boy instead

 

Does someone else have the same problem? I cannot access BeYours' English site, nor SWDoll's, which is a dealer of their dolls. I still fancy myself a Pansy (how poetic!), but it doesn't look very good, the only accessible site is their Chinese one and I can't really say I'd know how to order from there.
[MENTION=48380]fusion_midnight[/MENTION] About the resin - I find it a good quality resin. It's sturdy and doesn't feel "cheap"... The seam lines had been sanded too. Only mention is that the insides of the wrist pieces are not finished very nicely, but I don't really care because you can't see those anyway, and it's not that bad that it would damage the elastic.
For the price that they are, I find the dolls are both very nicely designed and engineered and of good quality.
