I'll hopefully be ordering a Chestnut for one of my characters somewhere down the road. Are they good at posing? It honestly doesn't matter to me - the heads are the selling point - but I'm curious. A lot of people are saying they're great.

 

I hadn't much thought about skin colour! considering it now, I would probably go for white, and I can blush her a pink as I like afterwards!

 

@Threewinds Don't be afraid, I've never had any problems about posing my BY doll. Chestnut is a lovely face, I like her too.

@sheildmaiden I regret not having thought carefully about skin color before order, if I did, maybe I would choose white skin like you. Now my girl's skin is darker and yellower than her boyfriend's who is Switch Sohwa normal skin *cry*

I just got my very first SD doll
I was in love instantly when I saw a BY Redcopper on a japanese blogg 3 years ago.
Now I finally got him *O* (I'm a poor student, so I speared for 3 years ^^'')

However, I'm now very confused about whether they sent me the right skin colour and body.
I ordered the old body, because it seems more muscular and normal skin for it's pinkish tone.
A few minutes ago I read in this thread that the normal skin is more apricot colour.
Does anybody have a white and a normal skinned doll from BY for comparison please?
And he came with the "new" hands, so I wonder as well, if the body is the wright one...

Is there a way to directly upload a picture here without a link?

@kirrikirri Congrats on getting your new doll home!! There is nothing wrong with your doll normal skin color. The pink normal skin is no longer available to be order since Beyours had changed their normal skin tone many years ago. Their normal skin now is more yellow and no hint of pink at all.

I wish I could have talked to you before you ordered him so you could have learned more about Beyours skin tones. I can understand why you are afraid because when my girl arrived home, she is much more yellow than I expected. I was really shocked at that time. Then I went and asked Beyours on their weibo page, they reassured me that this was normal and they did sent me the doll with the right skin I ordered.

well, I'm disappointed about the skin colour, because I really loved the pinkish tone- it looks so special and would have fit
his outfit and wig much better.
However I waited so long for him I didn't want to let go of him again x)
So I finished his faceup the day before yesterday and added some extra pink colour!
And about his body- well, I think they might have gave me the new one because of the hands.
I like that one too, not so much as the old one, but still my fav boyish body sculpt, so, never mind!

so, there's no other way to direct upload a picture?

I recently received my P.G./kikiyou, and I am completely in love with her. The first moment I saw her sculpt, I knew I had to own her. I ordered her in WS, and I'm completely impressed. Her body poses wonderfully, although she has a bit of difficulty with sitting up - so I decided that I might as well suede her. She was sent to me with an extra pair of hands, extra pair of heel feet, pair of eyes, the Bamboo head, and two postcards. Very kind of them. ^^)

I'm currently still waiting for her proper wig and clothes, so she's currently bald and naked. I already had her face-up done by my girlfriend though (HelloKnightmare) and she was kind enough to send me a picture of Nivose on one of her boy's bodies and wig.



I like how the sculpt is very androgynous ^^)
She can be either male or female.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and I'm looking forward to seeing other BY dolls. ^^)

 

@sourirecholique Congrats, your P.G looks so wonderful!! My girl came home last year with no extra hands, I don't even know Beyours offers that to their girls except a pair of high heel feet and eyes as they listed on their site I'm a little jealous.

I ordered from Legenddoll, maybe that's why? Or maybe they changed their freebies. ^^)

Also, it turns out that Beyours forgot to send the COA with my order. I told Erica of Legenddoll about this, and she was very helpful and offered to send it to me in a month, free of shipping. She also offered free shipping for any order of accessories. So don't hesitate to reach out to her, she is very kind and accommodating, and so are Beyours. ^^)

 

Maybe the thing that you called postcards are actually your doll's COAs. The white one with a doll's photo on the front and Beyours logo on the back, and nothing else, no doll's name, no birthday. I once thought they forgot to send me my doll's COA but it turned out they had changed their COA form last year.

Is the extra hands you mentioned earlier the same with the basic hands or different? Maybe they sent overseas customers a pair of extra hands in case the basic hands broken due to shipping.

Yes, they basically sent me another pair of basic hands. I live in Asia as well (Philippines) so I don't think that's it. Or maybe it is??? I don't know. Maybe it was a happy accident.

 

Yes they're. At first I thought it was a simple photo as well, but after I contacted Sunny's Wolrd, they sent me just the same photo again, haha. BY doll's COA is so simple and minimalist.

I ordered my girl through a taobao agent so maybe they thought I was a local Chinese customer so that was why I didn't receive a extra pair of basic hands? I thought that hands you talked about were fists so I was jealous with you, because I couldn't find any fists that fit BY girl body and skin tone.

 

Doing the math... I'm hoping to order Pansy & Olive, my siblings, in one big package this year. Legenddoll is a lot more expensive (their shipping for two dolls is $172) than SWDoll (shipping is $116), but they offer layaway, so I'm leaning towards Legend anyway. This will be the most expensive doll order I'll ever do. I'm sweating just thinking about it. :'D
I'm seriously wishing BeYours had a dealer in EU or at least Europe. The shipping is so expensive, and then I have to pay customs on top of it. This order will easily take a thousand dollars out of my pocket. TT__TT

BUT at the same time, I'm so excited! Pansy and Olive are so beautiful, and I really hope I can scrape enough money to order them. ♥ I'll be ordering Olive in normal skin and Pansy in white. They have become somewhat like grail dolls to me, so it's a dream come true if I can actually order them.

Another Q, wondering if anyone has ever tried a pair of jointed hands on a BY 65cm boy? I'm wanting a pair for mine but idk if 1/3 or 70cm sized would be a better option, since he is in between.

 

I am sorry for this quastion, but...
Does anybody know about Silver fir? He was only a gift? Because I found him not in sold-out folder and saw his sale on taobao(this fact scary me ) , but on legendoll he is sold out. I ask legendoll and beyours, but in three months I didn't get any reply. I so love his face, but don't understand if it is real to get new head.

He was sold out and can't not be ordered anymore. Maybe the taobao shop forget to list him as sold out, you should contact them first to ask before making an order.
