1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I would want one. Unfortunatly I probably wouldn't be able to take it everywhere like I could with my doll now, but for some reason I would want one. I guess it would be creepy and all, but I don't know. I would be fun to make clothing for it and have it in different poses in my room. XD I bet it would scare guests, but that would be very amusing for me.

    2. Heck yes I would. I know I have a bit of creepy taste but I've always wanted a bigger doll, I'm completely fine with SD 60cm sizes in a different aspect, but there's something fascinating about 100cm+ dolls. :D

Although majority of them are strung just like BJD's and not all are artworks, most of them are one-off's by artists so they'd cost a fortune to get hands on anyway... Unless a company started to make them, even if they may be quite impractical and not to mention heavy, I'd still be all over it. :whee:

There's a few Japanese artists I know of that make 1/2 scale dolls, I'd post pics of some of them, there's one of my fav's and she's 105cm (I absolutely adore her, if only she was for sale... She stands about just right under my bewbs! LOL) but I'll refrain from doing so, since they do look realistic and it may cause people to freak out... :sweat

    3. Well.... they would be interesting, but... I wouldn't buy.

I.... like carrying things around and one that would be half of my size would have weight... about half of my weight probably xD. Dollshes are pretty mostly the limit size to me :3.

    4. Although I'm strong for my size, at 5 foot 3 it would tough to carry one and I would look ridiculous  I like carrying my dolls in my arms.

    5. Me? Never. That's getting too much. I like having dolls that are small, easy to carry around and "toys"....that large is getting to be too people-like for me!

    6. I would definitely buy one, that would be so cool!!! Of course, I'd have to like the face of the doll in question, but if I did, then I would have to have it! lol

    7. It would be too heavy to carry around. And it would have to have the lanky proportions the SD13 and larger seem to have now inorder for me to consider one.

    8. YES! And it has to be one of those large old fashioned big wheeled (semi 20’s gothic) kind! Like Allison has for her kid’s but bigger! :XD: Like this one: http://www.featurepics.com/FI/Thumb300V/20061229/Old-Stroller-176576.jpg

    9. I would totally buy a 1/2 scale doll. One simple reason: it'd be getting big enough where I could buy clothes off the rack for it.

:: objects mightily to a pair of pants that, at 1/3 the size of a regular pair, costs twice as much::

    10. Depends on how special the doll is, but normaly I won't have enough space for such a big doll XD The bigger they are the more expensive they get. It will take ages to save for one ;)
      I voted no.

    11. No way. It creepy me out to see that DZ Wing came up to my hip I am not getting a 1/2 scale doll. I am just too short. (157 cm). It won't have fun with it because I would be overwhelmed by it's size.

    12. for me, i voted "no" simply because that'd be too huge for me. Did anyone else think of "My Size Barbie" from way back when they read that?? XD as for a room prop, i think it'd be awesome. but for practical reasons, you'd have to LUG it around pretty much. and wouldn't it be hard to pose for the weight of the limbs? to me it seems like it would.

and then. the price. some 60cm dolls go into the $1,000 range- which is enough to buy a used car, for most people- so a 100+ doll would be like... whoa... be ready to amputate and sell them arms and legs! XD

but hey. if you have a rich uncle who loves to give kids money, i still think it'd be neat to have one dressed up in your room, maybe posed so you could stash stuff on its head/hands. :D

    13. While it would be neat to have a doll that size, a 90cm resin kid would just be too awkward to hold or carry around. Shorter people would have even more problems. Imagine trying to dress, hold, and carry a person-shaped inanimate object around that came to your hips or higher when standing!

And what would be done for carrying bags? A papoose? XD

    14. The bigger, the better!!!

    15. I wish they did make 1/2 scale dolls of my favorite sculpts! That would be awesome. XD But then again, it would make me more broke than I already am. I don't think anyone would take them out and lug it around. It would be too akward and weird since they're huge! As if we don't get enough stares from people when we take out our 60cm bjds... o_O

    16. My size Barbie was EPIC.

    17. i would have to say probably not. I have a handful with a 60cm boy...and i'm preparing for my first 70cm boy....i dont think i can handle bigger.

    18. O_O The fact that 80cm ones already exist freak me out totally. I can't imagine bigger...that'd just be too much like an actual human child.

I am entirely and completely an MSD woman. They are DOLL-size. I'm growing to love tinies, but SDs are just too big...they're freakishly proportioned small children instead of dolls *grin*

    19. Thing is, sometimes when I am sewing for myself, the item itself is some awkward anime costume with a completely unrealistic design that I NEED to constantly model to double check how it's coming along. Dressing and undressing the costume every five minutes is a pain. Dress forms often don't account for arms, legs, and such, and are less aesthetically pleasing.... I don't have much storage space; I'd rather something nice looking sitting in my desk than a dress form on top of the TV or something.

People don't stay still very well, oftentimes. Even if you keep reminding them, some just suck at it. Also, sometimes getting another person to cooperate or take the time to pose for pictures can be a pain. And some people are a little introverted and might like to spend their artistic time away from other people....

    20. 1/2 scale sounded a bit scary at first, but I think it depends on the look of the doll. I like Sabik, and he is 80cm already. I couldn't imagine buying children's clothing for a Sabik-like character though...
As a small kid I had a doll who was almost as big as me and I found it way cool.
