1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Big, big dollies. Would you buy a 1/2 (one-half) scale doll?

    1. The first thing I thought of was the price. Not just the price of the doll, but can you imagine how much shipping would be for something like that? Good Lord, no thank you. T_T

    2. I would be way too creeped out to buy one. Even SD size give me the heebie jeebies.

    3. I like large dolls, but they're just a pain to bring around ~_~

    4. Definitely not for me. I find SD size big enough, almost too big, so... ^^;

    5. Sabik is 80cm yes? He would come up to the top of my hip. That's a bit too tall for someone like me.
      I can't imagine how ridiculous I'd look carrying something that big that isn't a real child around. ^^;

    6. I'd love it, it would be right up my alley ;)
      I;m fascinated by the human form and the more realistic (in appearance as well as size), the more I'm attracted to it (for artistic purposes).

    7. The bigger it gets, the more unstable I would think it to be. I would worry about it falling over and getting damaged. If I had one it would be posed permanently somewhere- like a sculpture. Its bad enough dressing the kids everyday, and they are pretty cooperative. Unless the doll was very thin, (like Sabik) I would be cumbersome.

    8. I could never afford such a thing, but if I could and there was one to my tastes, I would buy it. I don't use my dolls for play or painting or sewing; I don't get creeped out by any doll; and I feel stupid lugging any doll around, they're all kept in my room, anyway. It would be like an art doll, really cool. Oh yeah, and NOT child-like. I would want an adult-scaled/proportioned doll.

    9. I'd be interested, depending on the price. I think a 1/2 scale doll to sit on my bed would be awesome. I doubt it would recieve the same attention as the others, but it would be a lovely addition to my room.. kind of like an artistic sculpture.

    10. I really consider 1/3 scale dolls to be the perfect balance of size. They are big enough that they're easy to work with, but small enough to not need yards and yards of fabric to sew for.

      (I consider MSDs and Yo-SDs to be 1/3 scale children)

    11. It honestly could probably be done without much of a cost change. The Mecha Angel Sabik was 80 cm. Just another 10 cm to make a 90 cm doll. The Mecha Angel was so big, i could stand him next to me and lift his arm, and it looked like a small child LOL

    12. Nope. The Paper Moon dolls freak me out, and they're pretty much 1:1 scale to asian girls.

      A 1:2 scale doll would be heavy and unwieldy, I'd get bored of it pretty fast.

    13. I would love to have a 1/2 scale doll! :love I am sure some of the doll companies will offer dolls like that in the future (or at least i can always hope!)

    14. I don't even really like SDs... so no. I find MSD really big as it is. I'm much happier with tiny sized ones. They seem much... friendlier? o_O???

      So no. >< But I'm sure I'd find it interesting if I knew someone who had one. I'd probably be totally fascinated. I still wouldn't want on though. xD

    15. Nope. I saw those Barbie knock-offs in stores that are about 1m tall. Too big. I wouldn't even imagine carrying one around. And the idea of dressing it in altered kid clothing creeps me out ;)

    16. No way. I don't even want a doll larger than 60cm-63cm, let alone a 1/2 scale doll. ^^;;;

    17. It depends on how the 1/2 doll looks like, a mini-adult would creep me out...

      But a boy in the form of a small adorable child with Anime-characteristics?

      I'd sell my soul for him. He'd be so cute and I'd spoil him with clothes and toys.

    18. 1/2? 1/3? These terms still confuse me *_*

      Anyway, from what people have said, 1/2 is pretty big, and that would creep me out. Like a My Size Barbie or something. Also factoring in shipping cost and the actual cost of the doll, which would be through the roof. No thanks.

    19. definitively no. 90cm is far much too tall, it would be freaky. 70cm is ok, but I think it is my upper limit^^;.

    20. I dont think so, i think i would loose a little of the dolly-feeling. And it would feel... i dont know, too easy? If i could just buy childrens clothes for the doll. But who knows...
