1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I think 90-120cm dolls would be the perfect size for Art-Dolls that are dressed to kill, in fantastic costumes, perhaps mounted on fantasy beasts... I can picture the gallery show.

      1/2 life size is a reasonable size to sculpt. A 5'8" real-life female would translate into a 34" doll. That would be about a 4" head length, if doing a realistic doll.

      Custom clothing, for sure.

      As if they aren't already freaked out by BJDs? ;-)

      Start saving up now. You might be able to pay for it by the time you're middle aged.

    2. I would love to have a 1/2 or 1/1 size doll, the only reasons I have against one would be a lack of money or space.

    3. I enjoy the idea of a half scale doll, under the assumption that it would a half scale adult. Much along the lines of current sculpts. I have a 70cm boy I love and have been toying with the idea of the 80cm, so half scale would be right up my alley :)

    4. I don't think I could go for such a large doll. Nevermind the price, it'd take up so much space I'd have to give it a room all of its own.:lol:

    5. Oh, I'd meant just 1/2 size being an issue. Not sure what I was thinking when I wrote that! :lol:

    6. Hahaha, I'd love to see one, but that would just be too big for me! Where would I put it?? XD

    7. Oh, for sure! I'd love one! I'd like it to be very big and very dolly-like... I wouldn't mix it with my existing dolls (I like to keep those in-scale with each other). I'm dying to find an excuse to buy one of the DM Lusion dolls, though I adore the body and dollishness of the Lusion line, so far the one headmold they have released doesn't quite do it for me ;_;

      But yes. I would love a 1/2 scale doll. Maybe a girl. I can put her in a bonnet and keep her on my sofa ;3;

    8. I would not want such a large doll. I can only imagine how heavy it would be, lol!

      That, and I like smaller dolls anyway. I think the "mini" is my size, though if the smaller dolls looked more adult and less like kids I would like them more. I'm into miniatures and love small items of any kind. :)

    9. Wow, no. That's almost 3 ft tall and I'm only 5 ft. O.o

      I'm still getting used to the idea that the doll that I ordered is 63 cm (2 ft tall) and that it will be my first my bjd. The 70 cm dolls are just too big for me. Having one the size of a real kid goes beyond my comprehension.

    10. Lol go out and buy a pretty maniquin XD

      Woah...My doll's head has 20mm eyes and wears a size 11 wig...she has an MSD body though. Pretty unproportionate XD
      Now that I know it's roughly half the size of my head that's pretty cool and kinda creepy...

      Soom 80cm dolls are almost like 90cm. My mom's getting one and I'm not sure I fully support the idea XD XD

    11. If they eventually made chobit/people sized dolls I'd get one. Sure it would freak out the family and neighbors but it'd be pretty cool.

    12. Well, I would enjoy a doll that big, being great for sewing and probably more fun to make things for, but a doll that big would cost SO MUCH MONEY.

      Yes, but only for everything but the fact that they would be EXPENSIVE TO TAKE CARE OF.

    13. Reading this thread is reminding me of a crazy (and scary in my opinion) documentary I watched once in school about "Real Dolls". I will include the link to the documentary but I must WARN you all before you watch that viewer discretion is advised! The documentary is not about BJDs but about dolls that are human sized and realistic. It contains clips that may be considered inappropriate and children should not watch. I am in no way a pervert and this is just an educational documentary that reveals dolls in a whole new way. I in no way promote these dolls and only wish to share an interesting and thought provoking documentary about people who can only bond with dolls their size.

      Don't get me in trouble for this guys XD

    14. I don't know if this has been mentioned already or not, but AOD actually makes 1/2 scale dolls, and I think there are a couple on the forum if I remember correctly. I know I saw a box opening for one of them.

      I wouldn't buy one, just because even SDs are pushing it for me. I'm getting used to them, as I go to meets and see other people's dolls, but my biggest doll is MSD and she's still a size shock compared to my puki lol. I'd have to REALLY love the sculpt to buy a doll that big. XD

    15. I would SO love one if I liked the sculpt! :D Heck, I would love one that is human size! I guess big, big dolls are kind of like figures, you can't play with them, dress them up, but they stay there looking pretty. I have no problem with that since I don't think you HAVE to take a doll out with you or to play with it. It would be just like a big sculpture in your house. :) Now, I am thinking I would want a cute Japanese girl in a silk Kimono, or maybe a Geisha! Complete with pipe and a stool to lean on! :aheartbea Ohhhh or how about a smexy anime styled guy!? *Going off into a fantasy* :kitty1

    16. Depends. Their proportions have to be really well done. Some of the bigger dolls, 71cms and up, seem to be super skinny but tall and a small head. So as long as they are well done, proportionally, I would be interested.

    17. I want a 1/1 scale Reisner :drool .. *mindless fangirlying*

      But seriously, if I had more space and more money then yes, I'd definitely go for 1/2 or even 1/1 scale. I'm pretty sure I'd get into some really funny situations, trying to handle a life-size (male, grown-up, like my other dollies) BJD.
      I'd probably break my arms trying to restring him, but even the thought of having such an amazing model to take pictures of / draw / just admire makes it sound so worth it again.

      Or maybe I'm just weird. Probably this.

    18. No, definitely not. I'd get creeped out really. And I don't really see the use of such a huge doll. I mean.. taking it out would be.. would be like a total work-out. No, I think dolls were made to be lightweight (as far as that goes) and transferable. They were made to enjoy and a 1/2 scale model would just cause unnecesary used up space.. :(

    19. If I have the money then definitely!
      but this coming from a self-proclaimed ASFR isn't surprising.

    20. you know, wouldn't mind getting a doll that was a 1/2 scale. Would be kind of cool. However I think in the end it would creep me out just a LITTLE so it would have to stay in another room lol
