1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Big, big dollies. Would you buy a 1/2 (one-half) scale doll?

    1. After seeing a couple and handling them in real life, they were far too heavy and ungainly for me. The facial proportions worked for the size, but I like these dolls because there's a sense of elegance in the taller ones, and for me, the 1/2 bjd didn't really have that. Obviously it has to be sturdy to stand up on its own, but it didn't do much for me aesthetically.

Still, it is an amazing sight to see. The one I held was about 35 pounds and wore a 3T sized shirt (as in, toddler shirt from a store).

    2. I'd love to :) Most of my dolls are 70 cm, and I'm planning to get a SOOM MA as soon as I have the money (probably in, like, three or five years...). I'd love to buy a 90 cm one, proved I like the head, of course.

    3. I love gigantic dolls, but a half scale doll (or larger!) is just too big for my tastes. I saw a 90cm doll once, and it was monstrously huge.

    4. I think SDs are too big for me, so I would never buy something even bigger.
I've seen a lifesized Chii though, and thought it was cool. But yeah... Way too big.

    5. Regarding the toddler carrier thing: I did not like to carry around the one needed for our daughter and was very happy when she outgrew it. It was really bulky. Perhaps a big luggage trolley may be an option for transport.

    6. I would buy one, as long as it didn't look like the child from the film 'The Grudge' which would freak me out a bit.

    7. hmm I originally voted yes on this however I've since had a Mecha Angel and found it too big. I tend to gravitate to dolls 60cm and smaller nowadays.

    8. Well, it would depend on the doll, but I wouldn't mind getting one. I'm saving up for a Dollmore Lusion after all. I love big sized dolls. :)

    9. Yes, if that doll is a 99% exactly like Gackt. :D
I wouldn't mind to commission seamstress to make bunch of Gackt's outfits for him.

    10. My biggest problem would be "Where would I put her/him?"

There's a reason I collect mostly smaller dolls. I live in a house with three other adults and things can get crowded.

    11. The doll I'm currently saving for is 15cm away from being half scale to my height. I've never had anything larger than an 60cm SD, so I guess I'll see how that works out. x.x

    12. I'd absolutely be interested. I don't mind the size at all except when space becomes a little of a problem, and though I wouldn't mind smaller dolls, I think msd might be the smallest dolls I could go for since I have a thing for SD size and up. D:

    13. I used to have one of those 32in walking doll when I was a kid. I loved her, I could put her in a stroller and she was great. I dont think I could deal with anything larger then a 60cm doll at the moment. I'd love to have a Lusion doll, but space and price prohibit my purchsing her any time soon. Mostly I'd say no to anything over 60cm in a ABJD style I dont care for the style of doll as it gets taller, its just looks odd to me. I also dont think the Lusion is very ABJD styled, (more like those child-sized dolls) but thats just my opinion.

    14. i vote for Possibly, but....only if I'm getting taller..which is impossible :D
I love Lusion doll, but she's too heavy and too big for me to handle.
One of my wishes is to get one of Mecha Angels, they're already too big for me, so i couldn't imagine what about 1/2 scale one.

    15. My only real reservation where would she live?

    16. I have seen dolls in child-size and I love them XD I dont have the space, but when I get my own appartment I would love to buy a 1/2 scale doll^^ I have a book about japanese fashion and there was a bedroom with a doll that was circa 120cm tall and looked amazing **

    17. I don't think I would have the space.

And "1/3" dolls are already really close to 1/2 compared to my height (My leg is like 78cm). *short short*

Though 1/2 dolls is probably one of those things I think would be cool to see in-person.

    18. I don't think I'd buy one. They'd be too expensive for me. It'd be interesting to see one in person, though.

    19. May be, may be... it could be really interesting ))))

    20. I'd have to say no on this. While the larger dolls are very beautiful, I think it would be too much for me to have a doll that's half my size. Not to mention, I really like the smaller/tiny sized dolls because they're small and delicate.
