1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. They're more like a big Dollfie Dream or Obitsu, I think. I've seen a bunch of them in person but didn't look all that closely at the joints.

    2. I just looked at this and realized that I answered "no" somewhere in the dim mists of history. Truth be told I've had an itch that I've yet to scratch for one of those big 90 cm guys for the last couple of years. I keep telling myself no, don't be absurd, WHAT would you dress him in?? but.. :) Every so often I think about it again.

    3. if i loved it's sculpt, definitely i would!

    4. Considering I'm the kind of person who freaked out when I figured out how big an MSD sized doll was and managed to convince myself I would be okay with that - I don't think I could ever even get anything bigger than 50cm. It just freaks me out to even think of owning a doll that big, which is saddening because I really like a lot of the 65cm+ dolls. But yeah, no 1/2 scale for me.

    5. I wouldn't want to have a doll that big. That's basically the size of a child and I feel it wold creep me out too much to have one that big around.

    6. I love my 70cm boy, but would never ever go bigger... I bought him and when I paid him I got scared that I wouldn't like him because of how tall he is. I love him endlessly now, but can almost never take him with me. 70cm, about 3kg and some loose limbs are just not the right recipe for a comfortable day xD

But then again, if the mold is absolutely stunning I might consider it :p Though luckily I wouldn't have the money ;)

    7. Wow. Just... wow. I never knew there were dolls that big, to be honest. Comes from being a newbie I guess. If I had one I'd probably be a bit scared of him or her, even if I loved the appearance. It's too bad, really. But practically? I don't know where I'd put one, and my parents would probably scream if one came home. xD

    8. I was considering getting an Angel of dream 1/2 doll for a while, but I found a smaller doll that actually looked a lot more like the character I had in mind. Its a good thing too since I'm not tall so a 70cm doll is practically 1/2 size on me anyway. :lol:Funny thing is the 70cm doll I want to get instead is easily $300 more than the angel of dream doll. Me and my expensive tastes.

    9. No, I could never have a realistic looking doll that large---it would cross over into "uncanny valley" territory. :) I can't even see myself with a resin SD, they're too realistic and would freak me out. I like the Dollfie Dream because although it's large, it's not "real" looking---more anime, less real/scary.

Blame it on my older cousins. They loved to scare me with clowns, frightening costumes, horror masks, etc. when I was a child. I love horror because of it---but it leaves scars! Big dolls and clowns terrify me! And I still can't ever look at a person in a gorilla suit because of a traumatic incident when I was 8!

    10. Yes, because I just want one that big!

    11. I barely have room for myself and the dolls I already have in my house as it is. If I had a half size doll, she'd have to get a part-time job to cover her expenses!

    12. Nothing against the few hundred who've voted yes, but I'd say no.
I've seen a 1/2 bjd in person [at a convention there was a booth in the dealer's room with them, so I got to check him out an everything] and they are just HUGE. Way too big for me. They really are half human sized; his hands were a little bigger than half of my hand. @__@ Aside from how omg CRAZY BIG they are [how would you carry that around? Or store it?] I can't imagine trying to shop for them. They're adult proportioned, so children's clothes wouldn't fit, and adult clothing would be too big. And there don't seem to be many people selling 1/2 sized stuff, so... you'd have to mod/commission/make your own.

I don't know, they just seem like too much of a hassle to me. I have a 70cm doll and I can't imagine going any larger. 1/2 is definitely waaaay too big for me. Again, no offence to those that like them, but... their size makes them almost uncanny valley creepy for me. If people want them that's fine and I hope they enjoy them and have fun-- I'm sure people could do awesome shoots with something so close to human scale, but I could never get one.

    13. I have seen some absolutely GORGEOUS, near-life-size to life-size dolls. Granted, some of them were for, er...certain purposes that I don't require them for *cough cough*, but their beauty couldn't be denied. Creepy in a way, though!

    14. I have a thing for smaller bjds, (ie, pukifee or MSD, or tinies), so I'd definitely say no, but perhaps!
I don't have anything against them, I just prefer dolls I can transport around with me easier with no fuss!

    15. If money were no object than yes I would definitely buy a 1/2 doll. I might draw the line on full sized dolls (adult human sized) for some the same reason I am scared of mannequins. Does any remember the movie Mannequin 1991. I watched it as a kid and it scared the beJesus out of me. So no full sized dolls for me but 1/2 like the Dollmore Lusion if I ever have the money maybe.

    16. I would! I totally would! But only if I had the money... I just love the idea of a fully jointed doll of that size. I love that they would look mostly proportional to my own furniture, or children's furniture and toys.

    17. I would probably want one, but I swear it'd be waaaaayyyy out of my price range....
And eventually a bit creepy.... Especially at night.

    18. I think they're amazing... but if I had, say, a childlike Lusion Doll for example, I'd probably neglect my other dolls (dolls because I'm sure there will be more than one). And no way that's gonna happen D:

    19. That big a doll could be very hard to store in most modern appartments. If you aren't living in a private villa or a big penthouse of course. So, I would not want such a doll. Too much is just too much.

    20. (My apologies for posting in such an old thread,I hope it isn't too old to post in. D: )

If I could afford it and I liked the sculpt then heck yes. XD Sure,it would be quite a pain to transport but I think it would be pretty cool to have around. :3
