1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Oooh wow! I absolutely adore my Lusion and am super excited about the getting a Black Jude once I save up for her, but the D-Storic doll would be too big, even for me. I wonder where my cutoff size wise would be then, because I think I'd still go for a doll that was a bit bigger than the Black Jude.

    2. I'm gonna change my previous answer from a maybe to a yes. I just put an Angel of Dream Primo on my wishlist. xP

    3. Sorry if I offend anyone, but no way. The big ones are really pretty to look at, and to each their own. For me, I could never own one of those. They're way too big and I would be incredibly creeped out to have it in my house. The new Trinity Doll from Dollmore is the same height as my best friend's little girl. O_O Uh, no thank you.

Not to mention, if I even considered it, my boyfriend would kill me. XD He has enough trouble with my two MSDs, so I think getting one that big would be grounds for divorce... and we're not even married!

    4. Yes, I'd love to have a doll that size. I love big dolls. 8D

    5. I think that I would want two big dolls (60/65cm) but no more than that, and no bigger than that. I'd have too much trouble making clothes for them if I had a lot of large dolls. :/

    6. I think it's just too big. I have 1/4 which is perfect size. Also 1/3 and 70 are okay but personally I think that bigger than that are just too big. I think they would look clumsy and rather disturbing. The idea of human size doll creeps me out xD

    7. This post reminded me of Isi (It's pronounced as Easy). It was a humen-sized BJD made in Korea and I thought I would provide some pictures of Isi for people who are interested in bigger BJDs. Isi is 177cm tall (she's taller than me...). Although you won't be able to read the Korean in the links below, you'll be able to see some pictures.

And here is the photo of Isi with human.

If it's 1/2 I think that is like a humen-size doll if that BJD has an appearance of 6~9 year old boy. But after seeing these photos I think I'd prefer to have 1/6 BJD although I might consider. Because seeing these photos, I felt they were creepy which I never felt before with small BJD.

    8. I feel that 62 cm is probably the biggest I'll go, over that would creep me out. Not because I don't think they can make lovely dolls in 90 cm, but it would just be too much for me to handle. First the size is quite big and it would be a problem if ever I wanted to take it out with me and also to find somewhere to put it in my appartment. I also think my hubby would be kind of scared by the size too, he already told me that 62 cm was too big, I could just imagine if he would see one much bigger than that. O____O

    9. I try to imagine owning one that size but i'm finding it hard, i would find it strange and not pleasing to my eye i think.

    10. Nope nope. It'd be beautiful, but with the way I live, I'm not going to have space for it. Plus it'll probably creep out my roommates :(

    11. Same here, it's probably beautiful but there is just no room for it in my current living quarters, and will probably never be. It'd make for some pretty awesome real life stop motion though!

    12. Definitely! In fact, I've already started saving for Izi from D-Storic, hopefully one day I will get her. (She's $6k)
I also have an AoD 1/2 doll on my wishlist, I actually really love big dolls. Also hoping that Soom's Mecha Angels will stop being sold out. :(

    13. I'd love to but where would I keep a doll essentially the size of a small child?

Edit :: I just looked up Izi and holy expletitive... she's taller than me! How heavy would a doll that size be? What's the practicality of it? THAT creeps me out xD

    14. I'm going to have to go with NO on this one. The main reason I like dolls are because they are miniature humans (or dogs or dragons or whatever). I've always loved small things, and even the 1/4 seem a bit big for me.

Izi goes right into the uncanny valley for me. And she sort of reminds me of those "real dolls"...

    15. Nah, I have way too much fun looking for miniature props. Having a big doll like Izi makes it too easy. It'd just ruin the fun.

    16. No way. It would remind me too much of the episode of a show where a woman turned people into living dolls (it was a prank and wasn't someone really doing that thank goodness, but still). I'd feel like they were alive, just trapped in that resin o_o

    17. A doll that big would have to blow my mind. Lillycat has been working on a big doll, but I think it will be an art doll only. I'd also have to have the money! That's the key.

Otherwise I wouldn't even consider it. Big dolls are so big and most seem to need wiring and sueding to stand and pose. And I'd never take it anywhere on account it being so big and heavy.

    18. At that point, the doll really seems like it would become a decorative object, more similar to a statue or a piece of artwork than fundamentally a plaything. I'm sure people have seen huge chinese vases that are the size of a prepubescent child; a doll that size wouldn't be any more off putting than such a gargantuan vase. Mobility and weight as well as price might dictate a lot of the function of a doll though, so some ease of customization would get lost when translated to a large 1/2 scale. Otherwise, some people might just find it unsettling, having something life-size to a small child. But alot of 1/3 60-70cm dolls are already as big as babies and toddlers. It really depends on the individual psyche of the buyer.

    19. My Dollshe boy who I'm currently waiting for isn't necessarily half scale, he's just a tall SD but he is half me scale xD I'm 5ft and he's 2.29ft which is only a little under half but close enough to count and I honestly think it'll be super duper fun :) But with my limited (read nil) experience I like all sozes of dolls.

    20. My biggest doll is 34cm tall and I don't think I'd ever go bigger than that. A half scale doll would never work for me, I have no idea how I should carry her around or pose her or dress her...
