1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. no, theyre too big for me =( im okay with sd size

    2. As short as I am my 70cm is already half my size so I guess I'd be okay with one.

    3. Too big to carry around... I wont be able to take it out for photo shooting cu its too heavy

    4. It would be really neat to own a doll as detailed as a bjd that large! Not only because it would be funner to sew for and more to love, but, think of all the pic ops! I know that Angel of Dream has those 4 1/2 scale dolls, and Dollmore just made some as well, but their faces are just so......blehhch? To me anyway. Maybe if companies started replicating their SD sized dolls that large, it would be a more likely possiblity. Like a 3 foot Dollzone Hong....or a big Soom Chrom. THEN I'd be more convinced to buy one. And maybe if it didn't cost upwards of 2 grand....

    5. I actually think it would be a lot more fun to have big dolls. I'm the same size as izi, so we could even share clothes! xD :D It would be a lot easier to have the dolls cosplay too.
It's a lot easier to make detailed clothing on big dolls, and they wouldn't be harder to pose. In fact, it's probably easier.
Besides, I don't carry around my doll all the time, so weight isn't an issue for me. As far as I'm concerned, heavier dolls = better sitting/standing.

I don't see how everyone is fine with a small doll, but as soon as they get bigger, it's suddenly considered creepy.
But to each their own. :)

The only major problem I could think of would be the price, and possibly the cost of shipping. :shudder

    6. I have a 73cm boy and he is really quite heavy and harder to dress than my 60cm dolls but I love the look of him. Buying clothing would be difficult too as I wouldn't want child's cloths and I can't sew to save myself. But yeah I would go bigger but i'm not sure how tall would be to tall.

    7. I was just wondering about this exact topic the other day, so I am glad I stumbled into this thread. I like the idea of it, but 1/2 scale does seem to tread into the uncanny valley (to me) because it is getting to be more like an nearly-human kid rather than a doll!

    8. No, I would not. I used to be obsessed with reborns. I bought one and when I saw it I felt creepy. It looked a real child though it was not moving and breathing. I tried to love with her, but In the end I sold it. So I think a 1/2 girl or boy would be too human for me.

    9. I don't think I would want one. I don't have enough space and wouldn't know what to do with such a doll anyway.

    10. It depends. If it looked like a kid, no. But if it was more like the average aesthetics of a 70 cm, yes. Size doesn't creep me out. Although a boy that big would be tough to carry and change. But if I really liked him, I wouldn't mind.

    11. If it wasn't too pricey, yes. I'm actually in the planning stage of making one in the 4ft range, which will be freaking awesome once hes done! > w <
Hes not going to be cast in resin either,so that will keep the weight down.

    12. Goodness, no. Even if by some strange turn of events I was offered one free, I'd have to turn it down. I barely have enough space as it is, let alone to properly display something that large.
I bet the amount of detail for that scale could be incredble though!

    13. YES... I would love a giant doll... hm... it would probably cost a liver, lol. I have a thing for bigger dolls (I just don't have the space) but if I saw a 1/2 or bigger I'd just go ''shut up and take my money'' on it

    14. Yep. I'm actually planning to buy one. :D

    15. I think since I read Rozen Maiden and saw how large they were, as long as it looks more childlike and not adult like the 70cms often do, I'd totally go for it.

    16. Definitely, and I already did, lol. I haven't gotten her yet, but I am very excited to have her in my home. I hope to eventually have more than just one 1/2 scale doll. I think big dolls are just amazing. They may not be the most practical posers, but the detail and realness of them is just amazing to me.

    17. No cause then it will be My Size Barbie all over again and she was creepy lol

    18. I like some of the bigger dolls with more adult proportions, but if there were a half scale doll with like the more anime proportions I think that'd get kind of creepy, it'd probably get mistaken for a child and that'd just be kind of weird...

    19. Honestly, SD is big for me! Even my MSD girls, who come up to my knees are huge in my opinion haha

    20. Perhaps I want to have "one" bigger doll. Because this doll need more space to better work in my opinion.
But the space is not so large, so I love more the msd. I think you can have more of this than so large dolls....
