1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Big, big dollies. Would you buy a 1/2 (one-half) scale doll?

    1. I won't buy a doll over 50 cm so I certainly wouldn't get a half scale! They're just too big for me. I'll stick to my 1/4 scale dolls..

    2. I can see myself ending up with a Lusion or Trinity - in about 30 years. In the meantime I'm happy with my SDs.

    3. I want a Spiritdoll Dolce Gardenia so bad. Yes I would buy a 1/2 scale doll, they are my favorite size, and hopefully I can bring home my own soon.

    4. No thank you! I went from collecting SDs to realizing my love for tinies and just think I overall prefer a smaller doll, so a 1/2 wouldn't be suitable for me. :)

    5. I'd like an SD size, but not that big! I guess a 1/2 size would be great for putting details on clothes, but on the other hand I find them a lot creepier than other sizes (maybe they're just too human-looking?) and they would be such a pain to cart about to meets.

    6. Hm. Tough question. I don't think I would, since as silly as it may seem, I want to be able to carry my dolls around and spoil them rotten, something I couldn't do with such a big doll. A second reason would be that the biggest dolls I've seen had about the same amount of details as the smaller ones, which I found very disappointing. If I'd get a doll that big, I'd want more work put into it as for detailing. They aren't anywhere near detailed enough as it is... And I'd want realistic anatomy if it'd be a girl. :p If she had the tiny waist + big boobs and butt most mature bjd girls seem to have, it'd just be creepy and I'd be scared people would think it was a sex doll. ^.^;;

    7. I might if I had the money and the sculpt was to my liking. But I've seen lots that I don't like the look of... But maybe someday, who knows. For right now I'll just stick with SD's and my 72cm boy. X3

    8. I really don't think I would. I feel like a doll that big would... kinda creep me out. ._. Too close to a human, there. Plus, I like my dolls to be portable so I can take them out to events and the like! Carrying a 1/2 doll would be so cumbersome...

    9. The reason why I like dolls so much is because they're so small. I love miniature things, so there wouldn't be any appeal.

Also it reminds me a little of those guys who collect love-dolls and instead of using them for their . . . original purpose they just dress them up and give them names.

    10. I actually have almost completely lost my taste for 'smaller' dolls and exclusively eye the bigger-scale dolls like the Dollmore Lusions, Trinities, and Mokashuras, and the Spiritdoll Dolce girls. The only thing keeping me from having a houseful of giant resin kids is my unfortunate lack of money.

    11. Ooooh, no, I wouldn't. With my disabilities there's no way I could handle a doll that large. Hell, I'm saving for a doll that is 64cm and even that is seriously pushing it with the lack of space I have for dolls in general.

    12. I thought I'd like one but I got to see one in person and it completely changed my mind.
If a really nice female 1/2 scale was produced (and I mean "NICE") then I might go for it. Of course finding or even commissioning clothes would be terribly difficult.
Even the huge child dolls like Lusion are kind of "eh" for me. Too heavy and awkward to carry.

    13. I'm thinking that 1/3 might even be too large for me... so probably not 1/2.

    14. Those fall into mannequin territory for me at that size and they cease to be dolls in my mind. If I owned a tailor shop I might buy one to go in the window but I would never add a doll that big to my collection since at that point it's not a doll to me.

    15. Yes, I would really like one to be friends with my 120cm plushie as long as he/she isn't looking like a young child.

    16. Lol, no way. I think Msd is the largest size I'd be interested in for bjds. Can't imagine how heavy one that big would be, plus it'd probably cost a fortune to ship and buy everything for.

    17. Maybe :XD: It would really depend on the amount of room in my house and also how heavy he/she is~

    18. Probably. I want a Trinity.

    19. I'd rather not because 1/2 scale would be too big and that would also mean I need more place to keep this doll and have to sew all their clothing by myself. That would be too hard for me. But I would like to see, since its sound's interesting.

    20. Yeah!
'cause it's paradise for sewing IMO.
But there are no cute enough female doll for me =(
