1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. if ever i saw one that i'll fall in love with, maybe i'll buy her. i love big dollies! and it would be pretty fun to sew clothes for them. i want to study fashion design and maybe i can use them as my mini models for practice.

    2. thats a bit to big for me... and as it is right now, im very fond of the minis. part of the appeal of dolls, is the fact that everything is miniature. its fun! not to mention there easy to carry around and pose and keep about.

    3. No thanks.

Kaito (SD13 boy) sleeps beside me every night, i carry him around the house, i bring him out pretty often, etc. So 1/2 is a tad too big and heavy?

And like what Silver Nyx said, they can be "creepily realistic" :sweat

    4. It's hard to picture something 1/2 scale that doesn't look like a child.

    5. I'd want to own an adult-sized doll :0 it would be the guardian of my house or something~ but i think my boyfriend would not like another sexy man in the house so i guess that's out of the question :P

but yea.. i love big dolls! but again yes, im not sure if i could afford one ><

    6. YES~! but only if I could afford it. . . . Unlikely

    7. Only if it was affordable for me and I could justify the expense. But I suspect it would be a wish list item, like a Jaguar, a canary diamond or a beach house in the Florida Keys. :)

    8. i wouldn't buy one. it's too scary if there was a 1:2 scale one. Seiously it would be the height of an infant!

    9. No I wouldn't.
Would be to big to carry around.
40 and 60cm are the best sizes.
AND it must stay a doll, right, I mean, the bigger the doll, the more realistic it will be, that would scare me off.

    10. I'd get one, but it would sit in my room with one outfit....so maybe not...

    11. Me personally, I don't think I would want a BJD that big. My boys are pretty heavy. And they are only 60 CM. I don't want to imagine trying to lug around a near-human size bjd. I saw one girl one time who had one (I think she sold it on Ebay) and it was cool, but I think she said that eventually, the size became an issue. She had to lug it around in a wheel chair!!

Even one half-scale would have to be pretty heavy.

    12. My 65 cm boy doesn't seem heavy to me at all anymore. And I am fairly tall myself, being a girl over 6 feet. So I've actually considered this often. I'd LOVE a tall doll. But then, they wouldn't look perportionate to my other dolls, so I'd have to really like the sculpt to justify it.

But I'm intrigued by the idea.

    13. Someone mentioned "my sized barbie," they're a teeny bit over half scale. They're like 3 feet 2 inches. :aeyepop: I was considering getting a 1/2 scale doll 'till I looked at the one we have in the house (just now). Holy crap is that huge!! If anyone wants a reference, look for the "my sized barbie" in Toys R Us or something...

If I did get one... baby stroller.. That'd be the only way to bring it around. Chances are I wouldn't though... too, TOO big!

    14. I was all for the bigger the better, then I had to cart 5 of mine to a doll meet. Now I'm not so sure. I live in Australia so postage is an issue as well. Even though I could make outfits to fit and I can sew wigs, shoes are a different matter. I'd also want to know there was a male and female version that I liked before buying. I tend to pair my dolls off. I think ultimately it depends on the doll

    15. Rotundly yes!

    16. I wouldn't. I'm still firm in saying I won't be getting any 60 cm dolls (though I probably will eventually. No self control. XD) But half scale... I can honestly say I wouldn't get one. Too big and real.

    17. Abso-friggen-loutely.

One of my biggest goals as an artist is to create a life-sized BJD <3

    18. Hmm, right now I would say no. But one never knows, dolls are quite adept at catching my heart:)

    19. Yes! I definately would love to have bigger dolls! Way bigger than the hounds! :D

    20. Yikes, 1/3 is already way too big for my tastes, so I don't think I'd have much use for a 1/2. There's always the off chance I could want one for some reason, but doubtful.... Unless the original character was already tiny. Hobbits are already like, 3 feet, right? So if I made a MSD sized hobbit, it'd technically be 1/2... But 1/2 of a human.... Not many uses for me (other than maybe that custom computer case someone suggested. XD Imagine taking that off to a lan party. "So, where's your computer?" "Oh, it's right here!" "Your little brother is a computer?! O_O")

I wouldn't mind 1/1 though, but only a few; if it's my size, then it can model my cosplay costumes for me as I make them. It'd also be one heck of a holiday decoration and fun to make holiday costumes for. Can you imagine how many Trick-or-Treaters I could freak out with that? >: D And dressing one up in a Santa-inspired costume would make a cute Christmas decoration.
Actually, my boyfriend and I are considering a 1/1 Rei Ayanami if we get hitched.... She would probably hang out in the living room/dining room during the day time, lounging on a chair. Or next to the front door, peering out the window. Heh, she'd be easy to get furniture and clothes for! XD
For one of my friend's birthday, I made a 1/1 plushie of a midget that's been mistaken for a child once. XD We took him out once to the thrift store so we could get clothes for him. I have plans for at least one more 1/1 plush. Hmm, maybe I should make him partially ball-jointed, since I want him poseable.... Ball-Jointed plushie? Would that qualify for the Artists forum as long as it has an anime-styled face? :P

I'd have to get some old-fashioned roller-skates though, for pushing them around from place to place. Or a skateboard with feet straps.
