Big Breast, Flat, or Inbetween

Please explain how breast size makes a character/doll look 'cheap & easy'? I'm failing to make a logical connection in my mind between the two...

Is it impossible for male dolls(who lack breasts) to look 'cheap & easy'?

I agree. Yeah, in TV/entertainment, more sexual women tend to have larger breasts, but sexual doesn't always mean cheap or sleazy and in real life, not every women with large breasts is very sexual, and not every women with small breasts is non-sexual. It's how you dress the dolls, and present them that makes them look "cheap and sleazy". Actually, this connection between a women looking sexual meaning she is no longer "feminine" but is something negative bothers me.

I've seen quite a few very sleazy-looking male dolls. Again, it's all the the presentation.

 

I would like to have dolls with noticeable chest size, but not balloons. I always feel uncomfortable with the thought of having a completely flat-chested doll. I guess I just don't want one that's a child. They can be very pretty, but not my taste.

 

For me it would really depend on what I'm going for. In general, I prefer inbetween sized, but that's just because I like them to have some sort of figure. I think, too, age has a lot to do with it for me. I'm saving for a IH Tania that is a young girl, and obviously I wouldn't want huge gazungas for her xD

I do like variety, though. I think any size can be done beautifully, too :3

 

personlly, as a lolicon, i prefer dolls with flat breast, especially those with a baby face XP

 

I like any sort of range as long as it looks natural and age appropriate. For example, MSD girls have a range in the age they're supposed to resemble. There are kids, teenagers, and young adult looking ones. I feel as if there should be a proper range there, and I don't like seeing ones that are supposed to look more adult, yet have a flat looking chest.

Also, as others have said, I feel like shape really matters. I've seen large busted dolls that look wonderfully natural, yet I've also seen ones that look like a botched plastic surgery. I love when they look big, soft, and natural (I swear I'm not gay!).

 

I totally agree with the age-thing. If your character is supposed to be young, then flat-chested (or small) is much more appropriate for the look you are trying to achieve. I tend to like the younger look so my choices have been small-busted.

 

As many of you already said, I think it depends on the character. For example, I'd like to get a bjd with big breasts for an adult female character and another one, which will be her younger sister, with smaller bust. So yeah, variety is the best

 

I think I prefer more normal looking. (What is that you say?) Well, I guess less than huge and not looking like a water balloon. It would depend on the doll's personality. Like with people, I want the audience to be looking at her face first, then the rest.

 

Depends on the character. I have a character that I would like to have an average size chest, and one who will have a male body because she's supposed to be flat/have a boyish physique. I don't really like the sculpts that are super large chested anyway, they don't look natural and I feel like it would make them a little topheavy!

 

Well I definitely like the natural look because I want the doll to be more realistic. I'd probably end up buying a flat bust doll.

 

I find I'm drawn to larger breasts...I dunno why but I guess I identify with a larger bust, not because I'm busty, I'm average sized bust, but I find a graceful curve to be more beautiful. The ones I don't find as beautiful are the bodies which look unreal...like the bobobie bodies, the breasts on those bodies have a very unnatural and large shape

For me I'm a person who creates a character after I see the doll in person, on rare occasions does the character come to me before the doll arrives.

 

Being that I grew up with Barbies, I'd want a more mature doll to have some kind of cleavage, so I'm not a fan of having a totally flat SD.

 

Hmm... I like bigger breasts on dolls, and I don't think it makes them look cheap and sleazy at all. That's all about makeup and clothing choice. IRL I've seen cheap and sleazy women in all body types. Men, too.

I do think it can be harder to dress a big breasted doll, however, just like IRL. The sewing patterns are more complicated, and off the rack stuff may be a little too tight... across the rack. Maybe that's what you're talking about?

I actually chose my doll a lot because she has a more mature shape. A lot of 1/4s seem to be more like chilcren, and I waned a more mature girl, so the larger chest size fits me perfectly in this case.

That's not saying that I'll always prefer more curvy characters, and the shape is of course really important too, but right now, I like a bit more of a chest.

 

Oh, and I completely agree with those asking how big breasts = cheap. It all depend on how you dress them! And even showing cleavage can be done in a way that is not "cheap". It depends so much on the personallity of the doll and how you set it up.

I think it really depends on the character. Although when/if I get my Yumeko I'm gonna have to get her breasts sanded down since DZ saw it fit to have all their girl bodies with 26cm chests @.@ She's a gymnast, so of course she's not gonna have a huge chest like that!

 

I tend to like more "Innocent" looking characters, so I mostly go for a smaller bust size ^^
