It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Big dolls VS Small dolls?

Dec 1, 2016

    1. I have one large doll and quite a few in the mini and tiny sizes. I love them all but my largest isn't getting any friends her size. There isn't enough room! Plus, I like having one to spoil. My favorite sizes are 1/4,1/6 and 1/12. They take up a little less room, are easier to find clothes for and easier for me to handle. The extreme extra extra tinies give me a lot of trouble though. I have a couple I adore. But I had such a hard time just installing eyes, I wouldn't consider adding another.

    2. 52 to 65 cm adult dolls work best for me.
The MSD size of the dolls does not suit me because they have too thin and fragile fingers that I could easily break.
My only small doll is 35 cm tall and represents a child. She's chubby so I'm not too worried about her.
I am also not satisfied with dolls 70 cm and larger and I have to hold them with both hands, which is inconvenient for me.

    3. I think I have a preference for 1/4 dolls since I have the most of that size (after 1/12 dolls) although I like working with the other sizes too. I still don't have much of the 1/3 size since I think that size should be reserved for very special dolls due to their price point and the space they take up. Most of my collection consists of 1/12 dolls since they're so easy to store and then I realize I have another box full of 1/12 dolls. They're really cute and they're great for photos since they can fit almost anywhere and they look great when they're in groups.
1/6 dolls are great for making characters with due to their small size but also being large enough for a good amount of fabric patterns and other details since 1/12 is too small for a lot of my better patterned fabrics when making clothes. 1/6 can feel a bit too small at times, but I still think they're the best for making characters price and size wise. 1/4 size is the best middle ground for everything overall.

    4. I wish that I had never gotten started on the 70+ cm dolls, because I love them so much and they take up so much space!!

I do like all sizes though. The smaller dolls are much easier to get clothing, furniture, and props for, and I do think they are adorable. I have quite a lot of smaller dolls. But, I just have a weakness for my really big dolls even though they can be a pain to dress, clothing is difficult to find for the big dolls, and everyone of them takes a different size, I have to sew a lot, and I have to build their furniture. I just really enjoy having them around even if they can be problematic. :D

    5. I had to laugh at this, the other day I found one of my old posts, and I am like, well, this is all wrong now!

    6. I'm like @Arengil , 52 to 65cm is the best for me. I own smaller and bigger dolls, but I really like better the "small SD" range of size.
More than 70cm dolls are too heavy to my taste (I feel like I work out when I'm holding them ) and smaller than 50 are less satisfying for some reason.

    7. Pretty much all of my crew is YoSD-MSD size, and that's not counting the even tinier tinies lol! I think there just aren't many if any SD size dolls that caught my fancy I guess...

    8. I love, LOVE SDs (4 and a floating body out of my modest collection of 8.5 dolls :XD:) but I do have a couple 1/8 scale dolls and might get one or two (or three!) more... :evilplot:
I have a yosd and an msd and I Do Not jive with their sizes, the yosd is safe bc he's a character doll and has a chibi look, but the msd is sitting neglected.:sweat

    9. I like 1/6 scale dolls and smaller mostly because I collect Barbies at the moment. The smallest BJD I have is a 3D printed anthropomorphic bunny that's 4 inches tall from the tips of his ears (which are standing vertically) to his feet when standing upright. He's my very first BJD and I adore him so much.
