    1. To day I begin work on the white Vince wig I got back in December. We have had 46 inches of rain since last October! Only 17 inches over our normal total of an entire year! Ahem, anyway, looks like there is a chance for nice weather soonish. At least the blushing on the wig will be ready for that day of opportunity!

    2. Wow, I hope you get that better weather soon, @kurogane ! It's frustrating to be ready to go, but have to wait on nature to cooperate.

      @P-Aei Wow, I wish I'd waited and seen your lengths. I just laid Nails out on the table and measured from the top of where the ankle hook ends, to the top of the neck, then made the loops a little smaller than that. And still ended up cutting off some and tightening up more. The elastic came with my Nails, along with the hooks, but I didn't have enough to do double lengths like I wanted to, so mine just has a single loop for the arms, and a single loop that goes from neck to ankle, to neck to other ankle. I had enough to do one leg with double length, but not both. I figured that might cause some posing issues, so went with the single.
      The elastic is so tiny, but the channels (in Steve too) are so small, I don't know if I could get a doubled line through them.
      I've been wanting to re-string my Steve since I got him. He needs more robust elastic as well. But again, the channels are just so small...

    3. @aernath all of my BishonenHouse dolls are double looped in their body/legs and they pose SO much better that way. xD
      I wonder if I just happened to get a giant length of elastic,.. I actually had like 7" left after I cut mine and I double the arms too... You can always E-Mail Donn and get more elastic, or buy your own I think its 2.5mm (It's listed on the first post.) I botched my Vince's stringing and I was able to buy some from Donn to re-string him. <:

      (And here's a picture just in case people don't know what I mean when I say double looped elastic lol. I drew this to explain it to a friend awhile ago.) This is how I string all of my BH dolls. I think this works great for dolls with thin elastic. <: As for the actual action of stringing them,.. lol, it takes a lot of patience, a lot of struggle, and occasionally teeth or feet lol. Donn's Tutorial is very helpful. Don't be like me, follow the right way to string dolls lol.

    4. Thank you so much on the double elastic tip. Strung my Steve Donn's way, and he was good for a while, then went limp. I'm really dreading restring as it didn't go well the first time. I ended up with one of the S hooks embedded in one of my fingers. I think I will ask for a second set of hands next time :sweat

      I think I will talk to Donn about getting enough elastic to redo both Steve and Nails this way. With the single loops, I just can't get the boys tight enough for my liking.
      Locking forceps, and a thin bent in half wire are my go-to tools for stringing survival.
      Oh yes, and lots of patience!
      And occasional chocolate treat....

    8. @aernath thank you! I even got the face up done! I just went with acrylics and a matte varnish as the rain refuses to quit. I went dark and menacing. My entire doll collection is anime, pretty, or cute style. Vince will be the black sheep, literally. Well, that is how he wants us to think, but he likes cute, a lot...:sneaky

      After a Nails huh? He's awesome! You might try E-mailing Donn and letting him know you want one. The Patreon is the best way to know what dolls Donn has in stock, and all patreon pledgers get first dibs on all of the stuff Donn sells, you can do a sub for $2 to see the posts or $4 to get access to pre-sales when new dolls release. He MIGHT have an extra Nails since he cast a bunch to fill the pre-orders for Nails and all the patreon rewards just recently, but no guarantees. I'd say to send an Email and totally consider the patreon too, if anything the scrap sales every months are worth it for getting face plates and different hair pieces and other goodies. <: If you need his Email, I can send it your way. (I dont want to post just in case so he won't get spam mail stuffs.)

      Behold, my Nails is complete!!! You can see him next to my Mira.

      I got a string-puller this time so that meant putting him together was a lot less frustrating. But holy balls, he is HUGE for an MSD. He is even taller than my Narae and Minifee. It also means that the pants I got him don't fit at all. Even a Minifee legging was too tight. So he'll be hanging around nude and faceup-less for a while.

      To those who have Nails, where did you find clothes for him?

Ok so last week after much kerfuffling with the postal service, I got my box of scrap parts! :) This is the first time I've ever actually laid hands on a Bishonenhouse doll (well...parts) and I have to say the resin is not at all what I expected. I'm so used to huge, heavy guys that it took me by surprise. That said, it's not a bad thing! It means that if I ever did manage to get my hands on a Spade he'd be light enough for me to take on adventures. :D I bought a Nails faceplate and a Vince wig, and Donn was a total sweetheart and added an extra Nails faceplate and headback for me because shipping to Australia = shipping to Narnia/the moon. Honestly, I teared up when I opened the package. I very seriously must increase my pledge once I get a better paying job. ;u;

      @Eiko82 - Well he's not totally naked. ;)

    16. @Eiko82 NAILS! Gosh, I friggin' love Nails... He's so huge. Could I ask you to take a photo of your Nails in a static pose so I could add measurements to the photo like this and add that to the header post so we can all refer to that instead of having to pull out measuring tape to get measurements every time? xD I would take a photo of mine but I had to literally unstring his arms/upper body to get his shirt on and I don't really want to take him apart just yet lol... OTL I need a string puller.

      Clothes for Nails is kidna tough, I don't have any shirts that fit him too well, his shoulders are so broad! I'll probably end up drafting my own pattern. If I do I'd be happy to share it here with you guys! <:

      @Quiet and Insane Glad you got some scrap sale parts!! ='D (Lol, shipping to narnia/the moon has me laughing so hard. I'm so sorry, shipping can be evil.) I'm always surprised at how thin the faceplates are! I feel like I could crush them if I squeeze too hard. (I usually death grip while painting and haven't hurt anything though, They're pretty resilient!)

      That's awesome that Donn sent you some extras!! He added some to my kit too! So many faceplates I'll get to paint/mod. I got an extra plate with a slight hole in the eyelid that I'll mod into something! I've already added as much extra as I could to my pledge. (One day I'll have a job and throw more money at his and Denys' Patreon. I love the Patreon and will continue to tell everyone about it and Steve lol.)

    17. @kurogane - It was really sweet of him to send me those pieces. I've got a special little project planned for them. It's not really a canon part of my story...but I think he'll make a fine little narrator for less serious stuff. :lol: Well I did get an email for a job interview today, so that's something! I wish you luck with your own job search.

      @P-Aei - I'm so happy I finally got my hands on some too! Shipping to Australia is a pain in the butt, moreso for Aussie doll collectors because it goes both ways. Good to hear they're resilient! I have plans to mod these, and I'm a little worried they could crack. This gives me more confidence though.
      One of the face plates has a huge hole in the ear from a bubble in the resin. I'm going to use that for experimenting with - how to build ears. I'd love to try elf ears on Nails, but I don't think they'd fit under the Vince wig. We shall see! It'll be fun to try at least. While I could afford to add a little to my pledge now...the fluctuating conversion rate is what gets me and the more to spend, the more it adds up. Not ideal for me now, but one day...one day...
