1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Bishonenhouse dolls!

Jun 8, 2016

    1. He arrived today!
I got him as a kit (ordered at the same time as Nails, so the only way I could get them both), and after an hour or so doing a quick clean-up job with an exacto knife... voila! Nails, Spade, and Steve!

[IMG]Nails, Spade, and Steve! by aernath, on Flickr

A few box opening pix in my Flikr (link in sig). (sorry, huge pix from my cellphone. no idea how to change that when I send to flikr)
He came with enough elastic to do his arms once, and his legs/torso twice (I did have to mod the hole in the headback a little larger to fit all the elastic, but works fine)! I'm really pleased! He poses beautifully and holds it all well without any help. Not sure if I got the boot tops on right, but they seem to be okay. The hat is wonderfully done. Looks perfectly weathered and worn!
I think for Christmas, I'm going to ask for some extra faceplates for Nails and Spade, if they're available. ^_^
Now I have to figure out how to make some tighty-whities, and find a suitable guitar! lol

I think his name's Branch. He reminds me of Branch Connally from Longmire... XD
He came with two faceplates and two pair of green eyes, but those are going to my other Steve plates that don't have the green eyes. Branch has some blue ones. Need to find more.... these are 8mm from Mehi Art on etsy.
Still more work to do on the wig - it's soft rubbery material and needs some cleaning up to do of the flashing in between some strands.

Now if the weather would just cooperate and give me some nice faceup weather...

    2. Oh yay! :D He looks so awesome! Hopefully I can start working on my Spade soon. I already have a couple of pieces of clothing from another MSD I'm selling, so hopefully they fit him.

    3. Your two new boys look awesome @aernath So cool. I am excited for you to have them not just because of the awesome shirts you make, but because I know you will take them on adventures as well. I love the information you're sharing on Spade. Donn says Spade has the best joint system and one day he will change the future versions of the past ones, and give them the same joints. I look forward to seeing the boys done.
I am doing same thing @Quiet and Insane I have saved a few other MSD guys stuff to try on my Nails and Spade when they arrive, if don't fit into bins for meet ups and on to Etsy and other sites.

    4. Lol, every time I look at Donn's site all the dolls/ kits are gone. I kind of question how you guys got all these great dolls. :?

@aernath, you have a wonderful group.... and I love how the cowboy hat works.
I believe Donn was born in the Almost Heaven state and studied in a wonderful town called Pittsburgh (I graduated HS there)....if I remember correctly. You would think he'd save one Steve or Spade kit for me to buy, no?

    5. Your best chance is to either bookmark his website and check daily for availability of kits. Most of us belong to his Patreon page. Joining that you make affordable payments and in a year get a doll. PM if you need a link for Patreon.

    6. Thank you @animemom . I will try and keep track of his site more closely, I did find his Patron page, and watched a couple of his Youtube things. I love his drawings/ comics and the little people that he makes/ draws.

Thank you so much again, and I have to say that I'm so jealous of the people with the dolls. I love them.:D

    7. Donn doesn't do the comic strip alone, Deny is the main artist for those. He and Donn work on it as far as the process of creating the characters based on Donn's guys and gal. The Patreon helps him and Deny who lives in Germany. You can on occasion find on MP here on DOA the dolls for sale as some people find the kits either to hard to complete, or find these guys don't fit in with their plans. Keep eye on the MSD section.

    8. Yup, Patreon. I ordered Nails and Spade when Donn did the ordering period before Patreon. I put them on lay away, and then Patreon happened, and that helped me get them all paid off in time. I've had Nails for six months now. lol But as with most of my dolls since getting a job this year, not much time spent with them. Or at least not with a camera! My computer is failing and processing photos is a huge pain now.
I did take Steve with me to see the eclipse in August. Took some photos... and here they sit on my camera card...

    9. I am sure you will get to projects. Winter to me is that time when I don't have yard work, or need to do stuff right away. I have the time to get projects done that rest of the year I said I'd do. Hopefully so does hubby. I look forward to the photos of the eclipse event.

    10. @aernath Your boys look awesome. I like how Spade is holding his hat in front of his crotch. Doesn't he come with underwear?

My Nails is glad that he came with underwear 'cause the poor guy is still pantless >__<

    11. Nope, no pantsu piece, just au naturel!
By some miracle, I found a pair of underpants in the stash today! And a guitar that's not quite right, but hey... he seems to be enjoying it.

    13. I think they look awesome together, and love Branch is so musical inclined.

    14. lol, they are awesome!!!
Branch (Spade) looks like he's really into the music moment/ not caring what the peanut gallery thinks. These guys have so much personality.

More, I'd love to see more...

    15. @aernath - Ah interesting, my Spade came with the underpants piece. Most curious. Now I want to paint it with a leopard print pattern. Hmm...I don't think the others appreciate Branch's musical ability!

    16. I have so much painting to do this winter. I plan to try and seal coat in the next few weeks, and then do the final coat in early Spring. Mostly food items that don't look right and wigs. Once I feel confident will take on finally the L.E. face plates.

    17. @Quiet and Insane Now that you mention it, I think I opted for the nude hip piece rather than the underpants one. LOL! Totally voting for the leopard print paint job! :thumbup

@animemom hahaha I did that a couple years ago, sprayed a bunch of heads in preparation for doing faceups that winter, but never got around to them, and then forgot who all I'd sprayed! :doh I was thinking about doing it again this year, but also making a list...
Branch wants a fringed jacket. lol Um, sorry dude, unless I can find one to buy, it's not happening. Toooooo much work! Maybe he'll be a shirtless cowboy...

    18. Well my coughing is getting better, so hopefully soon new photos here. Maybe even a story.

    19. Thanks, at least the coughing isn't so bad as the first few days. Still worn out faster than before I got sick. Only good thing to come from this is I finally kicked the Pepsi habit. Was down from 2-3 a day to just one a day, but now no caffeine and it's taking some adjusting.
