I actually told a girl her "face-up" was nice, once. And I haven't been Soomed yet! D; Yet... But Luts has looted my life. D:
I've caught myself just before doing the same thing several times. Fortunately, the only time I ever actually uttered "She has a TERRIBLE faceup!" I was talking about someone on TV and my BJD-loving friends gave me only mild hell for it. I've been Soomed. Sooooooo hard. And Hounded.
Being quite new to this hobby, I always thought that some clever person coined the term faceup as a play on the fact that a doll's makeup was essentially their face... Never knew it had such a modest beginning...
The Nobility "emotive" ("emotion"?) body also had a spinning peen, along with the feel-good papilla. Wasn't there a thread one time trying to amass words describing the quirks of various dolls? I remember kicky-leg syndrome being mentioned there a lot.
I haven't been Soomed... yet... but dear God have I been Ipled half to death! And Dzed Hmmm Dzed and Confused?
once in conversation i said boybits and my dad looked at me funny and started laughing xD and I'll randomly say "papilla feel good nipple" (yes I know i said it out of order it just sounds funnier to me that way xD) just because it's funny that dzed and confused is funny xD
Cool Thread! Yay for bjd-speak!!! We will create our own secret language!!! ... even BJD or ABJD is a rather esoteric term that no one out of the hobby will know, come to think of it. And all the stuff that IS common, SD and mini and dollfie, even those are part of the secret language. Yeah, Soomed... I'm there. And have Delfs so know about the kicky-legs.
Seems like I have seen "SHEwoo a few times to show a female shiwoo that made me crack up. Sadly I was second hand soomed LOL
Reviving this because I got permission and because this thread is cool Anyone know where and when the term "heliweenie" originated? I first saw it in reference to Ringdoll Grown dolls but I don't know if it was used before then. Certainly, option parts and poseable versions of said option parts have been around for a while, but this particular term for it may be more recent. I haven't been in the BJD community for that long of a time, and so I'm sure there's been a lot of expressions invented between the previous post on this thread and today. So I figured I'd revive this discussion because I think it could be truly interesting. How has BJD-speak evolved through the years? That, I'd love to see!
I call them wallet vampires and have seen others use the phrase but I can't claim ownership to the phrase.
I think that almost ALL the early bjd terms and phrases started here, since this was the main online forum/group for the first 5 or 10 years. Things have spread out to fb and flickr and instagram and other places, now, though, so who knows what all new terms are out there? I think even "bjds" started here... Definitely "kicky-legs" and bonding...
